If you get workout gloves with wrist straps they make lifting alot easier on your joints and actually give you a very firm grip on all weights. Harbinger makes some really good workout gloves with wrist straps.

My current fitness facility does not allow trainers to use chalk.
As a result, gloves with straps are mandatory.

it's a matter of preference... when you hanle big weights u need them to save your skin...callusses are not nice to have
