you're not implying that Chris "Bullethead" Cormier, who says he's a world class athlete and that he makes 250k a year from it...suffers from major retardation, are you?

You might be a bit uncertain about what insecure means ND.

Insecure means having flaws and not being ok with them.  Yes I am 5'9 with a big crooked nose, but I've also accepted those things about myself.  I've always had those flaws so I've had a long time to adjust to them and in short I'm happy as I am, despite my flaws.

I am obsessed with height, I admit that  ;D, not so much insecure about my own.  Being up to 6'0 would be nice though, much taller than that and you are towering over a lot of girls and that is something I don't think I'd like.

Also, in studies on Napolean syndrome, men who were short growing up have it the worst even if they later end up tall.  I met up with a friend two days ago who I hadn't seen since high school and he was 6'1 - in grade nine he was not even close to 5'0!  As for me, I've always been average height so I'm used to being here.

Also, constantly needed reassurement from others - e.g., needing message board haters to praise you, is insecure.  Accepting that some will never like you no matter what is also a matter of confidence.

Message board hater does that apply to you with 240?  ;)

and obviously you're not content if you wished to be 6'0"

Let's get a list going.  Which pros do you feel pretty well meet the meathead stereotype?  E.g., the insecure and unintelligent type that bodybuilds to make up for things lacking in other areas of his life.

Nascar El Sombrero

Tom Prince

Butt Cheekerillo

Flex Wheeler

Ronnie Coleman

King Kamali

Shawn Ray

David Henry

Geez, let's just add the entire IFBB circuit to it.....

6'0 would be nice, but again I've accepted myself as I am.  That is what is so important.

How am I a hater exactly?  It is very mayhem-like for you to say that my saying things a pro doesn't want to hear constitutes "hate".  What I say is put in a constructive or open minded manner and is pretty well always founded in truth.

In the ironage ban thread I was a bit lowly in one of my comments, but that was more of a rant.

Where I have I made a baseless attack?  ???

On the Ironage thread you made a baseless attack !! but hey that one statement doesn't define you .

240 is an antagonist.  I could just as easily be arguing the quality of animals at the zoo or corporate resource allocation.  I just like to argue.

How so?  I think he is a multifaceted guy who has a lot more dimension to him than eating and working out and taking two dumps a day.

Just because he didn't lick bag doesn't make him a big mouth.  He brought up more pertinent points about the flaws in the IFBB than any other pro ever.  He wasn't doing that for the sake of being a jerk, but to try to elicit change.

He also strikes me as intelligent.  As I had mentioned in some other posts, the only thing I would fault him for in terms of academics would be his inability to understand supply and demand in terms of the market for bodybuilding.

Yes, he was outspoken then. Now, he's just another company man.

i would have to say tom prince. when he was big and healthy he was the most arrogant, hard ass, shit talker on muscle mayhem. now you don't even hear a peep from the tiny peckerhead. my guess is that he can't even look at himself in the mirror without crying.

who's sitting at the little kids table now tommy? ;D

Shawn is def. up there (he had mascara on for some Mr.O...).

There are otherwise quite some signs to look for:
Member of multiple Message boards, major time on internet, overly frequent weighttraining, fixation on diet, wanting to show off yourself as overly succesfull, talking about yourself as great, getting upset on faceless posters, posting pictures of yourself and getting of on the kissass responses could all be seen as signs of weakness. And i´m quilty of a few myself.

Yes but you don't like it when people argue with you.  You post pics of people and flame them yet when people do the same stuff with you, you get defensive, or send PMs asking that info be taken down.

Give it - go right ahead.  But you should be able to take it too.

240, speak on this

you have been ignoring those comments for a while and many members feel the same way about you

I once attended a seminar given by Chris Cormier in Portsmouth UK in 1999. This guy was so boring and without personality that people actually started leaving halfway through. It's like we all paid 8 bucks to watch a freakish clown for half an hour or so and got bored.

Eventhough not a big fan of his physique, Dorian did give very informative and attention capturing seminars and interviews, just because he was Dorian I guess. I also met Ronnie at the English grand prix in 1999 and he was very nice and personable, although clearly not the sharpest tool around. My training partner met Flex Wheeler in 1997 and he reckons you would have to search far and wide to find a more arrogant prick than Flex. (Just watching Mass Construction I would agree). Also met Ernie Taylor (arrogant Limey that never did anything), Markus Ruhl (very cool guy but struggling with English), Paul Dillet (tries to be aloof, but too stupid to pull it of), Jean Pierre Fux (nice guy), Rod Ketchens (nice guy), and Nasser (didn't really wanna speak to anyone).

I did attended a few shows and seminars and tried giving some of these guys the benefit of the doubt. Now I don't even bother reading any magazines or checking out websites. Bodybuilders are killing bodybuilding.

I genuinely respect Guy Grundy, Mark Dugdale, Gunter, Pavol, Mike Matarazzo. Been following most of them for many years now and cannot fault them on behaviour towards fans and actually acting like intelligent adults.
