My Workout?
« on: June 21, 2006, 05:09:50 PM »
Example of a brief week or so:

Day 1: chest (bench, dumbell presses, flies etc) and triceps (skull crushes, dips, pull downs for tris etc)

Day2:  shoulders (militaries, shrugs, upright rows, etc) and biceps (different curls:preechers, dumbell, concentration, etc)

Day 3: Back and Legs (dead lifts, squats, pull downs, leg curls etc)

then take a day break or not and start over

What do you guys think?  Thanks

I also switch up my routine with different exercizes periodically.

i would have to agree with bluto, to really work heavy with squats and deads in the same workout you would either have to be on the stuff or not fully pushing yourself and to do it twice in a week? plus i found for myself if i do tris after doing chest i do not work my tris hard enough since there tired from the chest work so if i had to put something behind chest it would be bi's with tris behind a back workout but would rather group chest and shoulders and back with hams and quads by them selves and arms by them selves but thats just me.

My current routine is:
M-shoulder
T-biceps, triceps
W-back
T-legs, abs
F-chest
*Sometimes I'll do tris w/ shoulders!

NO I do others for back as well like pull ups and a few machines.

I do understand that doing back and legs is harsh on one day to be doing them both hard.  One thing I thought of though was that dead lifts not only work your back but also ones legs, so it would be wise to hit them both since they interclash.  Thats why I do the chest and tris together.  Thanks

If your a PL'er or do power BB'ing (power rack, partials, looser style, heavier lower rep 's, etc,) than separete days for the squat & DL. If your on a general BB'ing scheme than they could be done in the same workout. Raising the heels on a 2" block or BB plates, will throw more of the recuitment on the quads and less on the lower back, so that might be a considered for some. Or preforming front squats rather than back/BB'ing/PL'ing style squats.. Might also consider doing the  DL's first and squats second. Seems to be some cardinal sin that worked together, you will be doomed forever. Problem with both those exercises is that most people do not use proper form and way too much weight for BB'ing reasons. Too many unneeded sets can cause more of a problem, limiting recovery time due to being overstress/over worked. Done right and with common sense (ego put aside), both exercises can give superior leg, hip, ham & back strength. And all in the same workout. Good Luck.
