since when has ronnie's back been known for his width. jay and gunter both have wider backs than coleman. coleman has more thickness and detail.

it was without question in 2003:

unless someone can show me a bodybuilder with a wider back, I hold firm to my assertion.

Now, when he was smaller, his back was obviously not as wide as when he was 290 pounds..BUT his taper was much better:

making his back look amazingly wide.. it looks much wider than that english guy with the wide back because of the dramatic taper

solitary pictures prove nothing. The shots I posted show how wide Ronnie's back was in comparison to his competition.

And please tell me that you don't think that a 257 pound yates was wider than a 290 pound Ronnie

You don't know if his back was wider than Yates unless they stood side-by-side and this guy in all probablity has a wider back than Ronnie .

are you blind? ronnie's rear lat spread ever since the mid 90's has been outstanding. What do you mean "not really"? Are you familiar with Ronnie Coleman's physique? People have always talked about Ronnie's amazing width ever since he beat Flex in 1998 thanks in part to a super wide back:
