Yeah, no shit... why the hell would they bust anyone working in that capacity is beyond me.

I used to be in the military - I actually trained to be a SEAL, and in my mind, using gear for those guys is a good thing!

I mean, we expect these people to carry out the most hardcore missions worldwide, but chastize them if they use a little gear - WTF?

Do you guys honestly think that gear makes these guys better soldiers, cops, firemen? They use it for personal reasons just like everyone else, they do have a better excuse though. Fuck the tanks, submarines, and missiles, just put an Army of a third world country on some gear, and you will have a military superpower.

Well, the US Military can't use gear because it would give us an unfair advantage over the enemy (other than the guided cruise missiles, the Patriot Missile Defense system, and nukes). We try to keep the playing field as level as possible when it comes to the lives of American soldiers and baseball.

Soldiers, cops, and firemen, go through extensive training to make sure that they can hanlde any situation that is thrown their way. Technology has revolutionized warfare and if there are any drastic improvements to battlefield performance they will come from that area than anywhere else. Cops and firemen work as units and teams, when there is a potentially dangerous situation they call for back up. I agree there are probably some cops that might benefit from steroids, but these are the guys that were the 130lb. weaklings in high school, who became cops just so that they can feel tough with a badge and a gun, those guys should not be cops in the first place.

If I was in Iraq, dodging death on a daily basis, i'd be doing anything I could to gain any kind of edge, whether it be taking speed to be a tad more alert/quick or a little dbol to sprint 20 feet a little faster.

Unless the guy was bringing in major weight, they should have slapped him on the wrist.

Strength and size mean absolutely nothing on a battlefield. Audie Murphy was probably the greatest American soldier of all time, and he was a skinny 140 lb runt. Steroids wouldn't do a damned thing to make someone a better soldier.

I don't see why cops would need steroids either. How hard is it to "recover" from a long day of eating donuts in a parking lot?

I'll agree with this for the most part.

For the most part in the SF or Marines, weights are never implemented (Training with bodyweight & long endurance running.)

Depending on the gear chosen, it could actually hinder performance. When I was in the Corps, using gear & long distance running doesn't mix well. Then again, it boils down to what gear regime is being used, but I know personally of a couple young marines dying of a heart attack during a long distance conditioning run while on gear.

If there is anything they could have use for, it would be something to help their endurance.

Like EPO or NESP.

I doubt that AAS would be of any help at all, since there is no weightlifting contests to decide the outcome of situations of war.

Problem with EPO or NESP, is the administration and safety. The blood can thicken too much.

Try doing pushups, pull-ups, sit-ups, and dips all day long in between 3-14 mile runs in wet clothes with boots and a pack on (TRAINING) - or humping up and down hills all day in the 120 degree desert in between bouts of extreme adrenaline surges while shooting and being shot at (WAR) and tell me that something that might give you a little edge by helping you recover faster won't do anything.
