it is very possible to find other bbs out there that dont get the same hype that have better packages.

ill give you an idea of BB in the year s 1990-2006.

first, symmetry, left and right.
then there's proportion, muscle bellies across the board, right size complementing each other.

then there's weaknesses or lack thereof.

then theres aestethics.
then theres mass and definition.


in the contests Flex won, he has great aestethics and great definition. Great mass in certain areas and certainly symmetry.
Proportion is arguable though as ive pointed out, and the weaknesses are there as mentioned, theres also the mass question with flex...tehn, dare i say it YET again.. calf implants- i.e. no definition at all from the knee down.

levrone does, Ronnie in his prime did, haney for his time did, Samir did for one show, arnold did for his time and judging standards (no weaknesses), heck Shawn Ray and Lee Labrada deserve a mention also as both of them were complete.

disco stu, you're totally ignoring the reasons why Flex IS one of the greatest of all time, such as symmetry and proportion, and trying to get us to look at his so-called weaknesses.  what if i pointed out levrone's so-called weaknesses (such as slightly assymetrical chest post-tear, lack of genetic biceps peak, poor quads in 2003, blahblahblah).  but i'm still talking about one of the greatest bodybuilders ever.  you want us to realize that Flex was "all hype" and tell us to ignore all the good shit about him?  get the hell outta here. 

besides, the guy's been retired since 2002.  obviously he's made an impression on YOU, cuz your balls are all knotted up 4 years later.

Where did you get this, Shawn admitted on here he said this to get Flex off his game, kinda like an Ali move. Shawn also admitted on here that he didn't or couldn't confirm anything with Flex's calves. Flex did admit in MD that he used Esceline (sp) which leads one to conclude that he used it not only for his delts but for his calves. If you look at pics from 1992, 93,95, 96, whenever he flexed his calves they look like a normally Flexed calf. If you look at the Hardbody video, he jokes about his "calf implants", and he does a side leg flex, in which you see his calf flexed like anormal calf should look. And one can't take implants in and out, without major scarring. So this rumor has been debunked

the guy had great bis and tris and delts.

lats faded away from the front, not fantastic from the rear. great back double bi shot.

not the greatest quads ever, lacking sweep and mass. hams nothing to write home about. Calves, well what happened there...one day nothing, the next day, BAM! undefined, unflexable calves...

pecs were ok, but nothing spectacular by pro standards.

so how come all the hype?

apart from the beach body characitur-ish flare and unreal muscel bellies of arms and delts, i dont see the big deal.


compare to levrone who has the bis, tris, pecs, lats, quads, calves and hams...

compare to many others who dont have as glaring weaknesses.

with the calf implants, in my opinion that makes him ''ineligable'' for greatness.


the 93 Arnold awarded the show to him for dryness and good bodyparts and against the existing competition. Not the best competition and complete package. yet so many rave about that show.
