Who is next in a steroid related death?
« on: July 31, 2006, 09:08:10 PM »
Whos going to be the next steroid related death?

these days it seems that people are trying to get more and more massive.   You constantly hear pros saying how much heavier they are going to come in at.  How they have really "dialed in" their "nutrition" and how their new contract with some supplement company has them making incredible gains.

Meanwhile, they are just injecting more shit into their bodies.  The IFBB has turned the idea of weightlifting into a circus sideshow where it doesn't matter if the lions die.  There are more beasts to show every day with the way the "sport" is growing and the ringleaders just get richer every day.

Nothing wrong with looking like Frank Zane (not that he was 100% clean either) but i bet he would get more ass than ronnie any day of the week, and probably will live a whole lot longer too.

Wow - nice. Let's change the term steroid to cigarrete related. Then we can put there alcohol.  Then prescription drug addiction, then fast food addiction.  And so on...

Someone has a heart attack at age 42.  Stuns people. They try and find blame on anything he was taking, using, eating, smoking.  Cigarrettes, Nubain, allergic reaction to his prescrption drug, the double cheeseburger he ate.  But if it is a bodybuilder, it must be steroid related.

It saddens me to see competitors fall - but so quickly to blame steroids for everything is not fair. Reminds me of what Geraldo would say.

yes but what other drugs did they use? alot of bbers who abuse steroids also abuse rec drugs and pain killers. the key word is abuse, not use.

You can't say there were any deaths directly from taking steroids like someone dying from a heroin overdose. Steroids indirectly lead to heart attacks because of increasing blood pressure, cholesterol and enlarging of the heart to pump blood to the 250 pounds of muscle or more. Someone can die from a heart who is obese and never did steroids, look at John Candy.

All of the past Mr. Olympias are much smaller now, then didn't maintain their size so that is a big relief on their hearts. But the contest prep does put a much greater strain on the heart plus all the stress doesn't help.

Why would we need to debate Ron on this. He makes some very valid points IMO...

Even when a bodybuilder passes away from cancer, people somehow make it due to their steroid use. What gives?

It's true that the media loves to blame some vice.  Cigarettes, roids, etc.  Sure, some people are more prone to disease and heart attacks, but there's no doubt that gear contributes to medical problems for many users, and many users have no problems.  The government should worry about real issues, such as drugs and how many kids are fucked up on a daily basis, rather than smokers or roid users.  Really, everything should be legal and this country is filled with pussies in government.  In other countries you can bang a prositute, smoke weed, then jack yourself full of test.  In our country, you can only get wasted, then go kill someone drunk driving.  I think I may move.
I could careless what is legal or not, my whole gripe with gear is the majority of users look like an experiment gone wrong.  Please kids, if you're going to take gear, have some kind of genetic foundation on which to start with.  In general though, to me, drugs are just a waste of time.  Ok, need to go play some video games and whack it to internet porn now. ;D

the media is fucked up. no one dies as direct result of sport enhancing drugs,,it is the combination of pre existing condition not known to the individual + the abuse of other drugs (narcs,,,pain killers,,heavy consistant  uncarefull use of duretics etc) combination of both.  you will die faster from an std than from steroids use.

only hormones i would be careful with are trenbolone,,anadrol,,and halo. although even while using them,, if not going extra crazy for super long time (6+ months none stop at 200-250mg drol/ day and 150-200mg trenbolone/day,,50+mg stenox/day),, the bodybuilder will be just fine. those compounds wont work on you for over 4-6 weeks so its a waste to begin with to go over 4-6 weeks.

the doses i see around of 100-150mg drol/day and 75mg trenbolone ace/day for 6-12 weeks wont do nothing to your health. these 2 specific hormones wont do much for your physiqe either past the 6 week mark.

I completely agree, my mother used to manage a Cardiac ward in the hospital and she would see numerous 40-50yrs who regualry die of heart attacks attributed to gentetics, horrible diet, smoking and stress------99.9999999999999999% of these people were not steriod abusers or users.  Heart Disease in one of the highest ranked killers in men and woman today.  Its a societal problem, but of course the media, and these fat ass diabetic politicians blame steriods on it, if someone who dies happens to be a bodybuilder.

Good point, heart disease is the #1 killer in the US.  I guarantee 99.9975% of the people who die from it never touched a steroid in their life.

no one dies as direct result of sport enhancing drugs,

bodybuilders have died of diuretics.  bodybuilders have died of insulin shock.  bodybuilders have died of dnp.  but no one has died directly from steroids

Is it true or false that a crappy diet without exercise can head someone for a heart attack just as fast if not faster than a steroid user not on a crappy diet?  Just wondering because there are plenty of people killing themselves just through diet.
