Meltdown
Good call.

I just totally lost it there, built up frustration over the years... ;D

I suppose Peter McGough should get credit for the Meltdown? 8)

They mentioned at the begining that last year's odds made some of the athletes upset, hurt their feelings, or somesuch. They had some people at like 25-1 or 50-1.

I guess you have to multiply the odds by 2 or 3 to get the accurate numbers.

The journalistic integrity requires attempts at unbiased articles.
FLEX aren't doing that. They work as an infomercial for Mr Olympia.
And that's beyond fcuked up.
This article took away the little illusions I had left about FLEX being anything but an unethical, no-integrity piece of shit mag.
Horrible.

FLEXNEWS - The spin starts here.  :)

It's pretty much like that with any publication tied to an event or federation though.  From a war in Iraq to ESPN the mag pumping up a 'Big game" which they will coincidentally be airing that week.  Media exists to sell ad space and events.

Thanks for posting this.

Incredible.

A magazine will make numbers look better - because the Pro's asked for it?

How about journalistic integrity and being loyal to the readers?

I sure would love to find myself in the situation where I opened up FLEX and didn't have to do a fcuking background research on every article, to find out what REALLY happens in BB.

My point is: If the FLEX staff believes that Dave Henry has a 1000-1 chance of winning - then that is exactly what they should write.

By purposedly lying, and not writing any disclaimer whatsoever, FLEX is totally in the gutter.

There is absolutely no point in buying FLEX today except for the contest pics. Horton gets the job done, and very good too. When I buy FLEX for the Olympia and Arnold coverage, it's not for the BS that is written. Horton carries that mag IMO.

But he can only carry it for two issues.

Man I wish I could get those odds at a Vegas casino.

I'd put $100,000 on Victor Martinez to not win at 1:5. That would be the easiest $20K I've ever made. No way the IFBB lets a 2x convict win the title. I'm just an amateur bookie, but real odds should look something like this:

Ronnie: 1:3
Cutler: 2:1
Gunter:4:1
Dexter: 20:1
Everyone else: Off the Board

Now, who would take any of the above odds?
