Dexter has more mass, is denser, and is better conditioned. But, he also has a gut. So what gives?

Given the current judging standards, Dex would win. Now, if it was 1990, then I would go with Shawn

Shawn was absolutely awesome, I just wish he competed more, collected more trophies. As much as 13 years top 5 in the Mr. O is, I think a few more wins would be better.

What I don't get is Dexters weight at the shows is listed in the high 220's to 230's, and Dex is an inch shorter than Ray. So that should make dex look far bigger than Ray. Maybe It's just that Ray did not lie about his weight. Ray was 212 lbs at his best and looks much bigger and more dense than Dexter. Just an observation.

Alright, here is a thorough comparison.

Shape: Shawn - 1 (Shawn had better shape)
   Dexter - 0

Size: Shawn - 0
   Dexter - 1 (Dexter is bigger than Shawn)

Symmetry: Shawn - 1 (Shawn's symmetry slightly edges Dexter's)
   Dexter - 0

Condition: Shawn - 0
   Dexter - 1 (Dexter's condition is 2nd to none)

Overall mass: Shawn - 1
   Dexter - 1

*Both have great mass.

Score: 3 to 3

Shawn was more complete and balanced, but Dexter is more dense and has better muscle separation.

Dexter at this point would beat the Shawn of the late 90's.
