World Gym

It was announced earlier this week that World Gym was sold (the chain), but the buyer was not mentioned - anyone know who bought World Gym?

the whole chain can't be sold since they are franchises. the name can be though...

Brian bought it and World Gym will be renamed to Metroflex world wide...
I would love it every Metroflex Gym would be as strait forward as the Metroflex in Texas...no more cardio bunnies, cool music, you can bang the weights, you can grunt ahhhhhh yessssssssss

dude, cardio bunnies is the only reason I walk by the cardio section every day.

world is struggling to find it's place in the market right now that is for sure since most are pretty much just basic gyms - no pools etc -  but trying to attract the mainstream crowd which now expect a lot more.

a lot of them are turning changing into planet fitness gyms too...

I have only seen Gold's turn to PF (Planet Fitness).

I haven't heard anything about the buy-out of the World Gym name at our gym.  ???

At my worlds things are fine.....when you join here you can use 2 other world gyms in surrounding communities which is nice...different equipment...different people with ILS   ;D

same here.  Palm Harbor worlds gym bought out.  I shudder to think of what they might do to it.  Seeing as they discourage "grunting" so that people can "focus on their own workout".  Is'nt that why I'm grunting, because I'm "focusing?"
Finding a real gym is going to be getting tougher....

"Planet Fitness" is one of the worst names ever for a so-called gym.  They should require everyone to wear pink while they're at it.
