? for Flex Wheeler/ H.B.E. regarding the webcast
« on: September 20, 2006, 10:17:10 AM »
Flex,

When I first found out about the webcast, I thought that was cool, and I would get both for the extra coverage.  We all know by know that the Mr. O will not be on PPV.  I have to admit that to me this is a huge disappointment.  Many of us like to have a get together each year to watch the show, and I can't see gathering around the computer with a group of friends to watch a 2-3 hour show.  That being said, I am glad that you and your company have decided to at least provide some type of coverage.  For the most part, I am against getting the webcast for these reasons and also becuase the quality of other webcasts has been shit (they were free so who cares).  Also, I think most of us would like to either tape/ DVR the event so we can watch it later.  My understanding is that it will be protected content and we will only be allowed to access it for 24 hours.  Could you please elaborate on the following, so that we can make a decision of whether or not to purchase?

What quality will the webcast be broadcast in?

Can you change the 24 hour policy, and allow those who purchase it to have a saveable file?

What gaurantee do you have/ what steps have you taken to ensure against all the freezing up and having to reload that normally takes place with these webcasts?

Will Bob and Dan be instructed to STFU during the routines?  ;D

Why does the order page currently not seem to be secure (no https)

Again, I am glad that at least someone is stepping up so that we can see the show, but I have my reservations about seeing the biggest show in the sport this way.  I look forward to your response, and if the answers are what I am looking for, I (and many others I'm sure) will change my tune and gladly support your company in this endeavor.

Thanks in advance

The link to order the webcast from that page does not appear to be active at this time.

Regarding the security on the other order pages, when you click the "Buy Now" button, you will be directed to a secure Paypal page where you can make the purchase.

I hope that they will provide an alternative online purchase method, as I will not give Paypal any money.  I'm surprised Hardbody Entertainment are not using their own merchant account to process these transactions.

Didn't realize it was going through Paypal.  As someone who works in the payment processing industry, I can't order through them either based on principle and too many security issues in the past.  I'm sure there will be more in the future too.

Looks like a decent little package.  Auth.net and Verisign are the two best gateways. However, if you're doing e-comm now 240 I would never recommend sending your clients to someone that uses the two payment processors they are partnered up with.  Lot's of hidden fees and a high % of downgraded transactions leads to very unhappy merchants bro.

the Quality will be in 100k/500k

can't change the 24 hour policy

the freezing up:  that depends on the internets' users and their interconnectivity to the computer.  If good they shouldn't have a problem.

the order page is secure there is a security seal site on there, people can click on to see the seal.

i respect you trying something new...but i dont think people are gonna gather round a computer screen 14" or so...when they can watch it in their living room on a big screen, and kick it back on a couch...honestly i dont approve of this but since you have EXCLUSIVe on this issue, you sort-of got us by the balls..clever! (you should just give the option for both...)

nothing against you flex!
i met you in MTL you're a class-act bro! i will always respect ya!
