I have always felt that there should be a separate judging panel that assesses the competitors from images only. The bodybuilders would be presented the same size as is done on this site. If they had wide screen monitors and could bring up 3 at a time it would make the judging process easy. Or keep one up and bring others to compare with that person. This panel of 5 judges could rank the competitors and their scores could count as half points in the overall placings. That would be as close as we are likely to get to an objective physique contest.
From looking at some of the comparisons I would say that Victor Martinez probably was a contender for the overall. He doesn't have the blocky appearance of Jay and has a small waist and good calves. Perhaps he had the best physique there. I think he can work a bit on back thickness in the rear double biceps. In the lat spreads he looks great.
Ronnie Rockel is another guy who looks really good. Perhaps he had the best front lat pose. Very complete and cut physique. He Victor and Dexter are all top 6 material. Jay looks weird in the ab pose while Victor, Dexter and Ronnie R look much better. I think next year might see a very open contest.
I will have to look at more comparisons to say much more.
