But a country like Somalia barely has a state and no money. It's not a super-state like the USA with massive amounts of resources.

It's also a matter of principle. The state should do everything in it's ability to protect the health and lives of it's people. They pay their taxes and are the backbone of the economy and their country.

What is the US governments rationale for not wanting to provide free health care?

This is how it works.

I am primarily concerned with MONEY in my practice.

I know this.

My staff knew this.

My little clinic, which helped thousands of people over an 18 year period, took about 50K a month to run.

Very high quality...best heath care around for my patents.

Do I care for them?

I tell my staff,.,..THAT IS A GIVEN.

That already comes before the money.

Martin Luther King said this:

"Its great to do good things, but, without money,

Its kinda tough"

I paraphrased that

So, you need a ton of money to maintain a practice.

I like to go to a doctor that:

1) costs a bit too much

2) I have to wait a bit to see him

3) Has the best, latest technology

All of these things mean that he will also spend time with me; I am paying for the best, etc.

Sorta like here: Insurance, you choose a private doc; no insurance, you choose county and make taxpayers foot the bill. Either way, you're treated.
