Then you create "Challenges" and "Achievements" for them.  Always moving the goal posts backwards for them.

This. you aren't selling push-ups and sit-ups. You are selling motivation and results. you need to create a good atmosphere, constantly switch up the circuit and get some energy going....challenge your clients.

it wouldn't hurt of you looked the part either, might want to spring for a couple of bottles of tren in your start up costs...I'm not kidding either.

The goal post never moves backwards, Adonis.  I consistently add more time, leverage, different variations, or put in a brand new exercise....I make sure that the body never adapts.

Maybe do those same "body weight  exercises" for  6 months?
Decline push ups off the wall, 3 point push ups, dips, wide grip pull ups (for those Cobra Venom lats), and one legged body weight squats.

Man, I don't know how people can pay for something that they can look up online, or do by themselves.

I think you will do very well Vince.  There are MANY areas with no access to a gym or a personal training service that also have an aging population.  You should definitely branch out once you get this one up and running.

I was thinking just how much money someone could make doing this is small towns rather than focusing on a large metropolitan area and it would be a lot.  Plus, there is zero competition.  You or someone like Coach could make millions in an untapped market if done correctly.  All with little investment.

Good luck bro but your clients are going to be pissed when they discover this old queen is not only the janitor and is also the one to unlock their fitness "goals".

Unfortunately, you and I have the same physique.  ;D

In Vince's defense, I've seen personal trainers at several gyms who've had the same clients for years.
I'm sure that, by now, these people know how to do all of the exercises, and I'm sure they know how to count. Many "average" people simply need or want motivation, companionship, or some kind of structure that they lack in training alone.

This aint Manhattan Beach Joe.

His target clientele only make $20,000/year.

I doubt it's that low. But if he charged $300-350.00 per month with 40 clients thats around 14k per month. Even if he charges lower, he would do well. It's a training gym (as opposed to open commercial membership) business model that we've used for the last 4-5 years.

  • I DID WHAT I DID BECAUSE I DO WHAT I WANT.

There's going to be very limited equipment I intend to use because I don't use much.  My training methods are generally bodyweight exercises for clients so it will mostly be dumbbells, kettlebells, Lebert Bars, etc.

I will however squeeze in a Power Rack Set for myself.... ;D
well good luck with lack of equipment and room you will have to zero in on the right clients no one i know would work out there.. its going to have some serious limitation's.

Joe, these people have $300/month mortgages, not gym memberships.

He has no shower facilities, ruling out any type of "before work" workouts.

He better have a big parking lot to "teach" Crossfit in.

Vince, whats your demographic?

I actually have a wide range especially tourists coming into town to gamble at the casino in Cherokee.  My place isn't in Sylva, its in Dillboro and I'm the building next to the Jarrett House.  The smaller building is where I'm located

Most to the high rollers will stay there and I intend to work out a deal with the owners where they can train them and give them a kickback for the referral....thus the 4-5am hours.....however because most of them are from Miami and New York, they won't blink twice over paying 100-150 dollars for a private training session while on vacation...especially since they are going to dump about 20-50k at the casino.  Two sessions and my building is paid for.

For locals, I'll charge 30-45 dollars and group training sessions will be 5-10 bucks each.  Keep my line of Advocare supplements on hand to sell, fresh towel, and free bottled water and I'll be jamming

Fuck Crossfit.....the shower is mainly for my enjoyment along with the clients who pay for the private training sessions but even the gyms around here don't have showers.  Gotta give and take sometimes but I'll have a luxury shower put in to make it work

Ok, so you could charge at least $300-350 ea for group training per month in that area?

I can for the visitors coming to gamble but the majority will be the group training and locals.  I'll take a few months to see what works and what doesn't and if all else fails, I'll just turn it into a Body Solid Dealership and nutrition store.

Vince,

How much would you charge me for a training session if I were to hypothetically fly in for a few days?

Will you offer GetBiggers a discount?
