Neil Young & Crazy Horse, the forefathers of garage rock..
The CD on which the studio version of this song is ("Ragged Glory") was stolen from me in Antwerp 1994 by the Maroccan boyfriend of a girl who lived in the same student dorm. I had a crush on her be she was only into muslim/african dudes.
He stole about 2000 Belgium francs too (wasn't that much) and some fine Dutch weed.
I confronted him with it (and he confessed) when I woke him up when he was sleeping late (of course) in her bed. He never gave anything back. I was very close to beating the shit out of his puny muslim body, but did not do that because of her.
Btw she marries some illegal guy from Somalia I think.
Anyway it's a great song. Thank you.
From the lyrics...
"It's only someone else's potatoes
You pickin' someone else's patch
And if you go down there anyway
It very seldom lasts.
I found that out once long ago
And it sure got me confused
I still don't know which way to go
To lose those old spud blues."
