He's right about a lot of stuff.  Isn't he a former Republican, now buying his nomination as a Democrat?

He is economically conservative but socially liberal. He should be a republican.

Social issues don’t mean jack shit if you don’t have anything to eat.

Are you sure about that?  What about the things he said about minorities and crime?

Bernie Sanders under scrutiny for backing Sandinistas in 1980s
New York Post ^ | February 24, 2020 | Carl Campanile
Posted on 2/24/2020, 7:20:31 PM by karpov

Bernie Sanders’ praise of Cuba and Fidel Castro on Sunday is just the tip of the iceberg.

The Democratic front-runner had a romance with the Marxist Sandinista government of Nicaragua in the 1980s and even honeymooned with wife Jane in the Soviet Union in 1988.

Hillary Clinton’s opposition research book on Sanders from 2016 — posted by WikiLeaks after the emails of her campaign chairman, John Podesta, were hacked — has a whole section on the then-Burlington, Vt., mayor’s trip to Nicaragua and chummy support of the Sandinistas in 1985.

“Sanders Was The Only Elected US Official To Attend Anniversary Of Sandinista Revolution In Managua,” one headline in the oppo book said.

“Sanders Supported The Socialist Sandinista Government In Nicaragua As It Fought A Proxy War Against The United States. …He used to be a ‘Sandernista,’” the Clinton campaign research book said, sourcing information from a May 28, 2015, MSNBC story.

Sanders even met with Nicaragua President Daniel Ortega.

In his own book “Outsider in the House,” Sanders called the trip to Nicaragua a “profoundly emotional experience” and praised Ortega.

Burlington and Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, became sister cities.

The Clinton oppo book also cited articles saying Sanders also tried to serve as an emissary to arrange a meeting between Ortega and then-President Ronald Reagan to resolve the conflict.

Sanders also criticized the Reagan administration’s efforts to overthrow the Sandinistas with the pro-US Contras, equating the policy to the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan. He also worried that the conflict could become a Vietnam-like quagmire.

Meanwhile, Sanders and his wife honeymooned in the then USSR’s Yaroslavl, which had a sister city relationship with Burlington when he was mayor.

How much money is Trump and the RNC sitting on, cashwise in their coffers?

I PRAY that Bernie becomes the nominee.

All that shady stuff in his past will be put on Front Street in large neon signage.

Just blast that footage nonstop in those swing states.

The average voter age is 54 years old in this country. Really take that into account while you are pushing this new radical agenda, Bernie Bros.

Democrats will not improve the country with the crop they have.

They need to regroup and rebuild.

Not around progressives either.

People rag on James Carville but I cannot disagree with anything the man has said.

The Democrats DID put together a solid, winning campaign during the 2018 midterms.

A solid moderate message and weak Republican turnout led them to take back the House.

I still believe the Senate is the ultimate prize because of the effects on the courts.

But it just seems that left progressive cancer has just grown too much. And they are too obnoxious and egotistical to organize the flanks and come together strong.

That "Bernie or 'Burn the sumbitch down' mentality is just so toxic overall for the Democratic party.

Government systems like what? I sited examples of the benefits of quality employer provided healthcare insurance, based on personal experience, which includes both  public and private sector employee benefits. (CALPERS) was not a part of this conversation until you mentioned it.

Perhaps you'd like to share how you propose healthcare benefits be provided or not provided and if not provided, how people will receive medical attention when needed?

World map of universal healthcare.
Countries with free and universal health care
  Countries with universal healthcare
Countries with free but not universal healthcare
Countries without free or universal healthcare
  (white)Unknown

I'm self employed. I pay $500 a month for health insurance. I work, I pay, I go to doctor only when needed. I pay a lot of income tax in addition to this.

My proposal is people take responsibility for themselves - and those that don't stay a minority of the population that there is a decently run safety net for...oh wait we have that system now. Nobody is turned away at the hospital right now. There are certain out of control demographics that are working to destroy that system however to which I say build that wall.

Instead we have vote buying Bernie and others promising pie in the sky programs that have NO FUNDING AKA NO BASIS IN REALITY.

Free stuff is crap. Worse service and worse outcomes than paid-for equivalents. What is so hard to understand about that? It's like saying everybody should ride buses because the roads all go to the same places.

Is fear of a Sanders presidency bern-ing markets?

What’s pummeling financial markets this week?

Fears about the spread of coronavirus, to be sure. But a chorus of analysts also thinks concerns about Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders winning the Democratic presidential nomination — and possibly even the presidency — are also contributing to jitters.

CNN's Camerota Shocked to Learn of Bernie's Bizarre Nude-Kid-Touching Suggestion
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein
Posted on 2/25/2020, 12:45:39 PM by governsleastgovernsbest

On CNN this morning, Alisyn Camerota proved in real-time a Bloomberg aide's allegation that the media has failed to properly vet Bernie Sanders.

On New Day, senior Bloomberg adviser Tim O'Brien said that Sanders had advocated that "toddlers should run around naked and touch each other's genitals to insulate themselves from porn."

"What?? What??!!," a shocked, astonished, and utterly gobsmacked Camerota exclaimed.

Carville was spot on.

Only ones ragging on him were Democrats because he dared criticize them.

Before the slide, the market was over 10% above the 200 day moving average. That’s usually a pretty solid indicator that the market is overbought. Under those conditions it doesn’t take much to trigger a correction.

Honestly, you come up with the weirdest shit.

Apparently here's what Sanders wrote in an essay many decades ago.

"Now, if children go around naked, they are liable to see each others sexual organs, and maybe even touch them. Terrible thing! If we [raise] children up like this it will probably ruin the whole pornography business, not to mention the large segment of the general economy which makes its money by playing on people’s sexual frustrations."

Styxhexenhammer really summed it up well this morning while discussing Bernie and his support of Fidel Castro.

We already know that Trump will dominate that northern and panhandle part of Florida and now Bernie has basically spit in the face of all the Cuban population in the southern part as well.

Okay so let's take Florida off the board, Trump wins what should be a swing state easily now.

Fracking.

Trump for.

Bernie wants to ban it outright.

Bye bye Pennsylvania.

So Bernie is down Florida and Pennsylvania from the get go and that's not even taking into account the Rust Belt where Bernie wants to take away these union worker's private insurance and replace with a government program.

Ohio is safe red already before that discussion even begins.

Wisconsin is trending red and you have a charismatic senate candidate with a legit shot to flip the seat in Michigan.

Where is Bernie's path to victory?

I just am not seeing it.

Over 200 Native Americans Ask Elizabeth Warren to ‘Make Clear Public Statement’ Disavowing Past Claims of Heritage

More than 200 Cherokees and other Native Americans sent a letter to Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) urging her to issue a public apology after “vague and inadequate” past steps to apologize for her claims of Cherokee ancestry.

“Your history of false claims to American Indian identity and the defense of these claims with a highly publicized DNA test continue to dog your political career,” the letter reads. “For Native Americans, this moment is more than an annoyance; it represents the most public debate about our identity in a generation.”

Fact Check: Elizabeth Warren Falsely Claims She Was Fired from Her First Teaching Job for Being Pregnant
Breitbart.com ^ | 2/25/2020 | Michael Patrick Leahy
Posted on 2/26/2020, 2:07:15 PM by rktman

CLAIM: Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) claimed at the Democrat debate in Charleston, South Carolina, broadcast on CBS Tuesday night that she was fired from her first teaching job for being pregnant. Specifically, Warren said that after she was visibly pregnant, her principal “wished me luck and gave my job to someone else. Pregnancy discrimination? You bet.”

VERDICT: False. Warren has been making this claim on the campaign trail since June 2019, but all the documentary evidence surrounding her departure from her first job as a public school teacher in New Jersey during the 1970-1971 academic year indicates it was voluntary. In a 2007 interview, she also described her departure from that job as voluntary.
