Cardiologist: Bernie Sanders Hiding a Key Metric of His Heart Health
JOSHUA CAPLAN  25 Feb 2020

Democrat presidential primary frontrunner Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is withholding a key indicator regarding his heart health after suffering a heart attack on the campaign trail, a leading cardiologist said Monday.

Dr. Richard Kovacs, president of the American College of Cardiology, said Sanders has not released metrics on the left ventricular ejection fraction, which measures the blood volume that the heart pushes out with each heartbeat. This indicator tracks the likelihood of future heart events and patients’ mortality rate.

“Normally the heart will push out 60 percent,” he told NBC News. “If you go down to 40 or 50 percent, we regard that as mild impairment of the left ventricle. Thirty to 40 percent would be moderate. If you get to 30 percent, that would be severe.”

Despite Kovacs’ comments, Sanders has refused to provide additional information about his health after releasing what the senator claimed was a “comprehensive” medical records report.

“I think we have released a detailed medical report, and I’m comfortable on what we have done,” the 78-year-old said during a CNN town hall event last Tuesday evening.

Questions about Sanders’ health have lingered ever since he checked into a Las Vegas hospital with chest discomfort on Oct. 1 and had two stents inserted.

His campaign did not acknowledge that he had suffered a heart attack until his release several days later. After pledging to divulge a detailed accounting of his well-being, the campaign waited until New Year’s Eve to put out letters from three doctors attesting to his health — a move traditionally deployed to avoid scrutiny.

Fellow 2020 Democrat candidate and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg had two stents inserted into his heart in 2000, though he did not have a cardiac episode.

“He’s released as much or more than any other candidate on that stage, released a letter from the attending physician of the U.S. Capitol, who has been his doctor for 29 years. You know, this is not one of those Trump-rent-a-doctors — this is the attending physician at the U.S. Capitol — and two leading cardiologists who have had him under their care. All of them say he is fully able to handle the rigors of the presidency,” Jeff Weaver, a top adviser to Sanders, said.

“I think any of you who follow him on the campaign trail know that he can handle the rigors of that probably better than many of us standing here,” Weaver added.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

CBS Poll: Viewers Feel ‘Nervous’ After Watching Dem Debate
Newsbusters ^ | 2/26/2020 | Kyle Drennen
Posted on 2/26/2020, 4:25:58

At the opening of Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, co-host Anthony Mason touted a new poll conducted by the network immediately following Tuesday night’s chaotic Democratic Debate. The survey of “Democratic debate watchers” found that 47% felt “nervous” about the field of 2020 candidates after watching the free-for-all.

“I was worried about you up there,” Mason remarked to fellow co-host Gayle King, who served as one of the debate moderators. “The gunfire was going in both directions and everybody had to duck,” he added. King agreed: “I know, Anthony, there was so much incoming, a couple of times I’m like, ‘Okay, alright, everyone. Senator, Senator, Senator.’”

I love how Trump keeps holding his rallies in the same state, at the same time of the Democratic primaries. Straight Outta Vince McMahon’s playbook.

Poll: Biden retakes lead in Florida (Biden 35%, Bloomberg 25%, Sanders 13%)
The Hill ^ | February 27, 2020 | Max Greenwood

Former Vice President Joe Biden is reclaiming his frontrunner status in Florida, according to a survey released on Thursday by St. Pete Polls.

The poll shows Biden pulling ahead of the pack in the Sunshine State with 35 percent support. Meanwhile, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg fell into second place with 25 percent support.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who has taken the lead in polls nationally after back-to-back wins in the New Hampshire primary and Nevada caucuses, is running in a distant third in Florida. The St. Pete Poll pegged his support in the state at 13 percent, a sign that the recent traction he has enjoyed in other states isn’t translating in Florida, where voters will cast ballots on March 17.

No other candidate registered double-digit support in the survey. Former South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg finished with about 8 percent support, while Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) registered 5 percent and 4 percent, respectively.

The St. Pete poll, conducted from Feb. 25-26, suggests that Bloomberg’s political stock has taken a hit in the wake of the Democratic presidential debate in Las Vegas last week, when he came under frequent attack from his rivals and struggled to fend off criticism of his mayoral record, treatment of women and controversial past comments.

A St. Pete Poll released just before the Las Vegas debate showed the former New York City mayor in first place in Florida, with 32 percent support. Within a matter of days, that support slipped 7 points, the new poll shows.

Hunting is very big in northern Vermont and New York. They have a very strong gun lobby, almost no gun laws there, yet very little gun violence. Go figure.🤔

Democrats seem far more afraid of Bernie than Republicans were afraid of Trump.

Democratic Leaders Willing to Risk Party Damage to Stop Bernie Sanders
Dozens of interviews with Democratic establishment leaders this week show that they are not just worried about Sanders’ candidacy, but are also willing to risk intraparty damage to stop his nomination at the national convention in July if they get the chance.

Bloomberg suggests he wouldn’t send money to Sanders campaign if he is the nominee
Billionaire Mike Bloomberg said Thursday that he might not spend money to assist Bernie Sanders if Sanders is the Democratic presidential nominee, a walk back of previous comments that he would use his fortune to boost whoever faces President Donald Trump in November.

I have to laugh at how the media reports on Democrats getting caught in their ridiculous lies.

The corrupt and incompetent Obama Administration coined the media term “walked back their statement” with all the lies they told and the media had to cover up.

Joe Biden got arrested going to visit Nelson Mandela... more Democrat Party bullshit.

America got a good look at the Left via Obama and the Dems got creamed in 2010. Bernie is Obama on IFBB pro level gear.

AOC warns a Bloomberg win would lead to a worse president than Trump

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned that electing Mike Bloomberg in November would pave the way for another candidate who could be “even worse” than President Trump.

The freshman lawmaker said she thinks it’s “not a good idea” to put the former three-term New York mayor in the White House even if he is the candidate who could beat Trump.

“We obviously have to beat Trump,” she told “The Breakfast Club” show on Power 105.1 AM on Tuesday. “But if we beat Trump and go back to the same policies that we had before, a worse Trump is going to come. A Trump that’s more sophisticated, whose fascism is less obvious, is going to come and things could get even worse.”

Ocasio-Cortez, who has spoken at Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign rallies, noted how Bloomberg’s controversial policies like stop-and-frisk and his comments about how ending the discriminatory practice of redlining contributed to the 2008 financial meltdown are coming attractions of a Bloomberg presidency.

Biden wins the Deep South and Bernie wins everything else??

How much momentum does this give Joe going into Super Tuesday?

'You brought me back': Joe Biden rallies supporters after convincing South Carolina primary win

Former Vice President Joe Biden was declared the winner immediately after polls closed in the Palmetto State. Cable and television networks called the race based on exit poll data, nearly all of which pointed to Biden.

Biden’s victory gives his campaign a huge boost after disappointing showings in presidential contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada. Biden placed fourth Iowa, fifth in New Hampshire and second in Nevada.

South Carolina handed him his first victory in the presidential contest – and in any of his previous presidential runs – giving him a much-needed boost heading into the important Super Tuesday elections on March 3.

Biden’s victory ends the winning streak of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who prevailed in the first three contests. Biden had predicted he would win South Carolina, brushing aside questions about whether he would drop out of the race if he did not.

“I will win South Carolina,” he promised during a Democratic debate Tuesday night. “And I will win with African American vote.”
