Actually, this will prob be an easy win for Obama.

People are tired of high gas prices, job lay-offs, foreclosures everywhere, and the war and they are going to blame the party responsible for it at the booths.  McCain unfortunately has gotten the raw end of the deal as he's inherited all of Bush's problem.

People will take color as a factor...except it will be the color of money.  The current President has royally fucked up the economy and I think that will take presidence over electing a black President.  Nothing personal but McCain

I don't like any politicians black or white but sorry Coach but Barack Obama will become the next President of the United States.

The really amazing thing about this whole election process (amazing to us European observers at least) is the fact that there hasn't been a single LEGITIMATE criticism of Barack Obama...

It must be a testament to the quality of his character that FOX NEWS can't even fabricate a decent lie about this guy (a decent lie being one based on a kernel of truth):

-some guy he met once used to be a radical revolutionary in the early 60s
-his sometime pastor made some comments which, taken out of context, could possibly be misconstrued as anti-American
-he might secretly be a Muslim
-he's too liberal because he wants to help the middle class, not give the ultra-rich more tax breaks
-he wants to "talk" with Iran, instead of selling them weapons
-his name sounds a little like "Osama"
-he's too black
-he's not black enough
-intelligent people (by inference: Jews, gays and communists) are supporting him

...add to this the fact that he hasn't once used any tactics from the Carl Rove playbook (Hilary's using all of them): no negative campaigning... no smears... and a refusal to deal with FOX NEWS... and he's got my vote.

There was nothing subtle or out-of-context about his pastor...  the guy is a full-on racist and Obama sat there in the pews hapily listening to him for years.  A person can be judged by the company he keeps.

Racism is rampant in the working classes.  The union bosses will all support Obama, since it helps them retain power, but the individual rank-and-file may have other ideas when they're alone in the voting booth.

Agree most of the "working class trades people" are too stupid to vote for the real issues.  They will probally side with the people who get the endorsement of the NRA

So I rummaged through Youtube and found all these highly over-reactionary FOX NEWS bits that were so heavy with manufactured faux outrage that I wasn't sure if they were for real or some sort of comedy bit. But then I did something I doubt any of the Evangelical Jeebus lovers did...

...I searched out the full, unabridged version of the clip.


I listened while this Rev Wright dude listed all the terrible war crimes America had committed over the past half century, and then asked why Americans were so surprised that 9/11 happened... I didn't find anything offensive or radical... but then again, I didn't swear allegiance to a piece of coloured cloth every schoolday with a hand on my heart (with my other hand holding down a woody for Jeebus).
