Trevor was a very great ,man...He did alot for bodybuilders.
I think he is the reason Jay got bigger from 1998 to 2000.
I know Trevor and Jay were very close friends.
As a matter of fact the last on the last cover of his magazine GEAR UZR
Jay was on the front cover.Plus he did a 6 page interview with Jay.
In the article there was alot of personal pictures on a good friend would have of Jay.There was a pic holding his dog on the couch, getting his Harley out of the Garage, and a pic of the inside of Jays house.
Trevor was THE GURU  when it came to insulin use and anabolics.
He even knew how to use synthol, because he actually made his own Brand.
His company was called Nuclear Nutrition. They made good products.
Trevor was the reason Matt Duvall Turned pro.....Trevor trained Matt and helped him out for that show..Matt used Trevor BFT, Beyond Failure Training System......
True Story, one night I went to dinner with Trevor, his wife Nancy  and Dennis, Newman.Whats Funny is I was 290 lbs at the time, Dennis Newman weighed 260lbs at the time.Trevor was over 400lbs.In that picture Dennis and I look like 2 lil kids standing next to there dad, lol.If I find the pic I will post it.
Think about this, I weighed nearly 300 lbs, and he made me look like a broom stick.I am  5'11" and at 290lbs at 9-10% bodyfat  I was a freak to most people. When I walked in to a room or went to a restaurant people would just stare.Next to Trevor, lol, I wasn't Jack sh#$, I was just and elf, lol

trevor smith was a fat man.

hope this revelation about your boyfriend doesn't upset you

Triple I am not going to argue with you.Unless you seen Trevor Smith in person there is no point in arguing with you.The man was 432lbs at his peak, his average weight was 375-400lbs at 6'2".You do the math.Ask Jay,or Matt Duvall about Trevor Smith.

I found this brief description of Trevor Smith's training principles

Quote
Trevor Smith Bodybuilder
Beyond Failure Training

Here's an example of a Beyond Failure Training Workout for the chest. Now it is important that you first understand the problems that can occur while training certain muscle groups. In this case we will be talking about the pecs so let's get right to it. How many times have you noticed that people rarely have both great arms and shoulders AND a superb chest? Conversely, how many times have you noticed someone with a great chest that had great shoulders and arms? There are lots of pros out there that come to mind with this strange phenomenon. Dorian and Lee Haney both had superb upper torsos, back and chest. But left a little to be desired in the arms and even the shoulders department to some extent. Gary Strydom had a great pair of delts and a great set of pecs, but sub-par arms. Guys like Dennis Newman have very poor pecs and over-powering delts. Now genetics play a large part in this to a certain extent, but the thing I have discovered about BEYOND FAILURE TRAINING is that is cuts through all the genetic predisposition's because it completely annihilates the muscle group worked and does not allow for any one group to over compensate for the other.

If you have over powering shoulders, they are going to do the bulk of the work every time you do a pressing movement for chest. Likewise if you have great triceps, they will get most of the work. The problem is when they give out during a set, you can no longer continue to give the stimulation necessary for the pecs to grow. This is where Arthur Jones comes in. One of the things Arthur was a big believer in was pre-exhaustion and it is also used extensively with Beyond Failure Training.

We shall then start our workout with a set of Machine flys. Personally I find the Flex pec dec machine to be the best, but whatever is available will be fine. Now I do not recommend using dumbbell flys with this, as your rests and elbow and shoulder JOINTS will tend to give out before the muscle is thoroughly trashed. We start with a pre-exhausting set on the pec-dec machine with a partner right there to offer assistance. Now use a weight that allows 10-12 reps and once you hit that point and cannot complete another rest. In other words when you have hit failure. The set is only beginning and it is time to go BEYOND failure. Your partner or spotter assist you to get 8 more reps. Once the screaming has stopped, you will drop the weight by 30-40% and continue with the set, get as many as you can on your own, usually no more than 3-5 reps, then your partner will again assist you to get between 6-8 reps, then even though you are numb, drop the weight another 30-40% and continue with the set having your partner assist you to go beyond failure once you can no longer get a full rep on your own. Then you are finished.

After you are done crying, rest a few minutes and complete another set in the same manner. Then you move on to a pressing movement..Oh let's say incline barbell presses. Now I like to use the Smith Machine because it is a lot easier to work with when doing this type of training. We are going to do one hellacious set of incline presses in the same manner as above, when failure is achieved, the set just begins and your spotter will help you go past the pain barrier and into the torture zone. Now your chest should feel like you just had a set of 44-DDD implants put in. In other words, they should be hurting and pumped beyond belief. That is it, you are done with chest and it is time to move on to another muscle group.

i cant seem to find any literature from him or about his "anabolic theory's". are there any out there, or is all of that just heresay?

Trevor and Nancy were very good friends of Nasser and his former wife.  Nancy worked with battered women, however she testified in court against the Nasser's former wife's allegations of abuse based on her knowledge of the couple as well as her professional expertise.

Jay really didn't get his growth spurt till after the 2000 NOC.  Jay has never followed BFT training.  Maybe tried it a couple times, but he has always been a high volume guy.

Did Trevor invent the Smith machine?

Probably so. I recall from old photos that his "amazing lifts" were mostly still photos of Smith Machine "lifts" that were "performed" with one of the pins still in place.

trevor had many pics on his site about training - doing smith shoulder presses with 6 plates and incline smith presses with 7 plates.

the problem was that all the pics were in the point of th lift as if someone just unracked the weights.

it was also suspicious when trevor's lifts and claims would destroy ed coan, kaz, gary frank's lifts at the time.

also, he kept talking about a video about his lifts, but it never happened.

So an evil woman made Trevor cry and he died of a broken heart ??

It had nothing to do with being a 400 pound drugged up bag of fat and water ?  ::) ::)

Imagine the strain on the heart, no wonder it had to give in.

I use to post on Trevor's board and I agree with GetNY comments. He really came across as a genuinely nice guy who truly had a passion for what he did and took great pleasure and fulfillment in helping others.

People still rag on him for being 400 lbs and doubting his lifts. He was nice to a fault and people were always trying to take advantage of him and get free stuff or advice (which he was especially generous with). I remember him actually asking the board members for advice as to what to do when someone asks for a free "test" order and if Trevor didn't comply they would trash him on other boards.

Strange as it may sound, I almost got the feeling that Trevor still had a bit of naive innocence to his makeup. He always tried to see the best in people and wore his heart on his sleeve.

RIP Trevor Smith. One of the good guys.

Trevor was the man.  Unfortunately, a lot of haters really messed with him on his discussion board and the stuff put up after he died was simply unbelievable.

He had a protein mix that was 100 grams per serving but it went down like Kool-Aid.  High quality for that time

One thing that upset me was that his wife refused to sell the domain name and the remaining stock to anyone including the footage to his training video so all of his supplements were left in that warehouse to expire.  Now Nuclear Nutrition domain name is owned by Paul Becker and once he has a domain, he doesn't let go

He took my advice and found a real trainer instead of that TNA garbage camp he was looking for.  He got trained by Mr Fuji, spent time in Japan where they don't BS around and as a result, he's doing well for himself.  Doesn't look like Matt Duvall but without the extra juice its possible
