I eat 5-6 meals a day of the best quality fish/meats and barely spend half that.

ok, let's see, $500 / week = $26,000 / year. Let's assume you're in 20% tax bracket, so that means you're spending $32,500 pre-tax dollars on food / year alone.

Well, sounds like an average getbigger. Keep up the good work.

I'm a bit skeptic. Do you spend $500 just on yourself or does that include your family as well? I live with my pops and groceries cost the two of us roughly $200 a week. Typical food that can be found in our fridge/pantry:

Gallon of skim milk
Quart of juice
2-3 dozen eggs
Ground turkey/sausage
Some sort of chicken parts- breasts, whole, thighs or leg quarters
1 salmon filet and usually 1 other white flesh fish
Deli meat- roast beef, turkey, ham
Typical veggies- lettuce, carrots, peas, onions
Carbs- oatmeal, potatoes, rice, rye bread
Pint or 2 of ice cream
Bananas, apples...now peaches and nectarines
Not too much junk and some canned food that gets replaced about once a month.

I think that's a decent amount of food for 2 guys to live off of and it's normal grocery store quality stuff. So if one person is eating $500 worth of food per week I'm assuming they're going to be pretty damn fat.

Post your average week's worth of eating.

I spend about $1000 on food a month just for myself, all organic, although I don't buy the most expensive cuts of meat and don't do fish all that often.  Given that, I can see $2000 a month being realistic if I were to substitute my cheaper cuts of organic meat with filet and NY Strip along with more ocean caught fish.

Obviously, anything organic is going to be be more expensive. I don't see the justification for going organic when there is no added health benefit other than the placebo effect on the mind of believing organic food is much better for you.

Another thing to consider, let's say $500 is being spent on food...how much of that is actually being consumed and what portion goes to waste.

What if this guy is really Dave Chappelle and sprinkles diamonds on his food so his shit sparkles? That's baller. If so, I could see $500 a week.

Insomnia = epic posting

LOL!

If you eat good foods, not junk, you can easily get by on $100 a week.

A perfect example is Oatmeal, 10 cents per meal (1 cup), throw in some tuna and other low cost fish and you should not be spending $500 per month.

I prefer some food with taste,
Not Oatmeal 2x a day.
Most are all show no go!

How exactly is the imported fish better than fresh fish at local supermarkets?

O.k bast,

I order king salmon which is $29.95 a pound
and I eat alot of Tuna Sashimi.
You can't eat that if fish is frozen.
King salmon is less fatty than coho farmed salmon.

I agree, I could cut down food costs by eating more blandly.
I choose not too.

6 pounds of fish with shipping costs me $200.00

I easily could do this 2x a week but only order once a week.

I have a wife, and 2 dogs, which my dogs eat better than many
children.  I bake a turkey a week, and feed them turkey, rice and
mixed vegetables.

Again fellas, its not the quantity, its the quality I choose.
Most are all show no go!

You are talking like you plus 500 $ a week on food = the best thing since Sergio Oliva  ::) .

If someone can afford 500 $ for food a week good for them ! I prefer eating out or real quality ingredients better than spending on drinks and nachos. Probably I would eat sushi once a day
