I don't necessarily think he's a bad guy, but he is an extremely weak-minded fool who has allowed his crutches (i.e. vices) to derail what could have been a wonderful second half of life.

Ya know , I've had this conversation with OMR and others before about how it's " not a death sentence " and how " it's very treatable" but this couldn't be further from the truth. My wife is a DON at an end of life care agency and this disease is horrific still. Cocktails do not work for all, you are susceptible to everything, bronchitis almost always turns to pneumonia and it's usually not the only disease your suffering from if you have it. If a person takes great care of themselves, has a strong immune system beforehand and tolerates drug cocktails well you can live for a long time but otherwise your fucked.

Not necessarily good or bad....just pointing out what I found online on several medical websites specializing in HIV/AIDS. Obviously, 1 in 2000 sounds pretty low, but that is for each instance. So the more unprotected sex you have, the more those odds go up. Keep in mind the 1 in 2000 only applies to people who are having sex with someone who is confirmed HIV+. Clearly, the odds are 0 if the other person doesn't have the disease.

I kind of tested the 3% for accuracy by seeing how many people changed their facebook
picture to rainbow when the same sex marraige passed. Although many of those that changed theirs to rainbow are not gay, it came out to about 3.5%. Their are 1.5 billion FB accounts.

Yet Ann Biderman, Ray Donovan's creator, suggests she was inspired not by Pellicano, but by his Old Hollywood forebears. "I've always been interested in that world that has existed around fixers," Ms Biderman said recently. "Eddie Mannix, Fred Otash … These figures have been around since the beginning."
Eddie Mannix, a long-serving vice president of MGM studios, was one of the original Hollywood fixers. Along with Howard Strickling, the studio's head of publicity from the 1920s to the 1950s, Mannix defused several potential scandals using a network of crooked lawyers, cops and journalists.
