today after 1yr i played some soccer and damn its very hard to move when your big..the whole fuckin body pains like hell..my legs are sore...my torso was paining as hell.i was like getting short of breathe very frequently...also i do alot of cardio for eg i do 5-6km walks to my gym..damn how many of you have experienced this..why build muscles wich are useless???

Your english and lies are paining me. If you do that much cardio, why are you that winded? Muscles are not useless, virginity is useless. Muscles are good, overdeveloped muscles are not. I doubt you have the latter. You should be sore after soccer, it is tough. That does not make muscles worthless.

Not bad at all. With some training, you can improve that time a lot.

lol when i was in college. i came back to summer vacation about 20lbs heavier. i moved from db to LB because of personell and i had to bulk from 206-226. i was running my mile tests at about 6min for db. when i came back as a LB it took me 9+min to finish my mile. I did nothing in the gym but lift....no cardio at all. I paid for it that day.

dude for eg just look at the strongman competitors..they might have all the strength in the world but i doubt they have any stamina..do you think savickas could run a mile without stopping... ::)(pudz is an exception)

You can do all the cardio and weights in the world but if you aren't used to doing certain activities you'll still get sore.
Walking/lifting weights does not mimic the same activity you'd do playing certain sports like soccer or basketball. That's why basketball commentators speak about players coming off the IR needing to get in basketball shape even tho they've already been doing weeks of cardio.

true..but like i said when you neglect cardio for sometime then it becomes really difficult to move around when you play games like soccer..when i was in school i was a bit heavier but my stamina was much better than i have it at 170lbs..

Do you do cardio? You should do at least 20 min of low impact activity 4 times a week, just for your heart, dude. Whther it's treadmill for warmup or walking down to the docks to pick up a hooker, you should have a base level of conditioning.

Appearances can be deceiving. Some grizzly bears weigh 1200 lbs and can run up to 30 mph. Granted NFL lineman are not bears (unless in Chicago) but some of them can still motor fast.

When I read the first post in this thread, I was kinda agreeing with the dude since I've been there before. This thing is, I was 5' 8" and 235 solid.(now 220 and feeling a whole lot better)
But when I heard he's 165, I was like WTF!!!? When I weighed 165, I would easily run 5 miles no problem.

Yeah, they can do it......in about 20-30min (exaggerating), but there's no way they can run a timed mile in 7-8mins. You might have seen other big people do it, but I'm sure that's what they are conditioned for!

Your right, some can move fast...off the line, but when they have to chase someone down forget it, they get out ran damn near everytime. The average play lasts about 5-7 seconds, the time the linemen have to react when the ball is snapped is less than two seconds, during practices linemen are tested and usually conditioned for about 20 yards to test explosive power off the line, the next time you see a line run any more than 40-50 yards chasing a reciever, they look like they're about die simply because they are not conditioned for it!!

Anyone who thinks bodybuilders or any athlete who carry a ton of mass can be proficient at running more than a few yards have lost their damn minds. Even if they trained for it, the body's natural tendency will be to strip mass in order to become more efficient at the task at hand. Therefore, they would become faster as their weight dropped, but by the time they became truly efficient, they would no longer be massive.
This is why bodybuilders don't run anything close to long distances, their body's would drop mass like there's no tomorrow.
Anyone who has become very heavy (whether it be muscle or fat) can attest to this.
