depends on bodyweight. a 400lb guy benching 315 for 4 isn't strong.

yes about that.
the funny thing about gyms these days is that you very rarely see that anymore as much as guys say they do.

strength is relative...
...
your strong is "your strong"
...
measuring your strength would be to base it aginast the average..
if you are above average .. then you could be considered strong

Strength is all relative.

There is no one measure of strength.  Power to weight seems to make the most sense though.

Ronnie can actually bench 600 and squat 900. the 2x bodyweight bench is a great example of strenght!

like i said earlier, it seems like all the time i've been on getbig that i've read about at least 40 guys who could bench 405 yet in any gym i've ever been to i've seen literally 8 guys in 14 years of training do a legit 405 bench.

There is a 'legend' here who posts under the handle 'Mr Intenseone' who claims a 563 lbs bench @ 181 lbs bodyweight, although I think he's dyslexic and actually wrote that instead of the truth, which is that he benched 181 lbs @ 560 lb bodyweight hahahahaha.

I have been lifting now for about 10 years and in the last 6months alone I have seen at least 10 people bench 405.  Personally I have not lifted 405 but I work out with two guys who can.  I have just reached the 365 feat!  It all depends on what type of gym you work out in.

If by 'training partners' you mean spend about 90 % time in the showers soaping each other 'thoroughly' and the other 10 % of their time in the gym towelling each other dry, then yeah, I too think they must be 'training partners'

I'd say in all the Gold's I've been to in the past 5 years or so, I've seen one guy bench four plates or more.  He was a strong kid who worked at Auto Zone, lol.  I've seen three people deadlift over 500.  One of them was me and another one was my buddy Big Mike.  I've seen two guys squat 500 and neither of them was me. :)

I'd believe it if there were like 2 photos, like you halfway through the rep and it touching your chest. Of course there's nothing at all. I think if I ever set a world record, I'll hope to have proof.  ::)
