So yesterday was the NGA Can/Am in Buffalo NY. Excellent Natural show, about 50 competitors...and I was there at the request of the promoter to work security. Right about 6pm, when the evening show was starting Joe Lazaro, one of his juicehead buddies and what appeared to be his wife show up. For those of you who don't know who Joe Lazaro is, he was former Mr. Usa for I think 2 years, but never went pro. He was involved with EAS for a while. His father had been a promoter for the Mr. Buffalo back in the day. Anyways, Joe is promoting the Mr. Buffalo next week and wanted to get a peek at the setup backstage. This wasn't going to happen. He was there to start shit. He wanted the ticket takers, which were just some college kids from U.B. to let him in, started name dropping, etc... I happened to be out front when he showed up. I called the promoter and he told me no way was he letting that guy backstage during the show. I let Mr. Lazaro know that if he wanted to come in and see the show he would have to buy tickets, but there was no way he was going backstage. He thought about buying a ticket, but his wife got in his ear and told him that we should just let him in. After I explained that wasn't going to happen he got snotty and said that's ok, there's going to be a REAL bodybuilding show here next week. Then i told him that for shit talking about the NGA show he could just leave and he no longer had the option to buy tickets to come in. Then I told him and his 2 companions that they can leave the building. Then Lazaro tells me to go fuck myself as he's walking away. I was polite and said Good luck with your show next week Mr. Lazaro, and he came back towards me, he's like "and what's your fuckin name, who are you" I pointed at my chest and said read the fuckin nametag asshole. Then he steps up and tried to get in my face, a little nose to nose, but he was a little short for that. I told him to give me a reason...and he lost eye contact and looked at his buddy like he wanted help. I told him to leave before i make him leave and he left.

Personally, I think you're lying, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in order to substantiate my point. Now, assuming that what you claim to have happened is true, what would compel you to actually brag about this?
You just denied entrance to an old, washed-up, HRT-dependent bodybuilder who has spent half his life posing in front of a mirror while starring at himself in nothing but a thong. A man whose pinnacle of existence consisted of oiling up to be on stage under heavy, bright lights, yet again wearing a dentalfloss-thin thong while being cheered on by an auditorium filled with closet-queens all the while holding an ear-to-ear smile. This is by no means a worthy adversary and you know this. This man who you had an encounter with is a few estrogen levels short of being a homosexual and you want to somehow come off as an internet tough guy? Gay men aren't fighters, we are lovers. 90% of the bodybuilding population is composed of gay men and to be the rotten apple in the bunch to try and start an altercation with a former brother of the iron speaks volumes about your dedication to our sport and most importantly our kind.

What an idiotic story to post. This isn't news. Obviously, kegdrainer has to post this run-in like tabloid news, and make Joe Lazaro look bad. Who cares how big of a man you think you are?
The Mr./Ms. Buffalo show is a far bigger show than the Natural NGA show. It draws many more competitors and spectators than a natural show. Lazaro & his father, Joe, who also was a competitive bodybuilder , have been promoting the Buffalo show for many years . It's a NPC show, and qualifies the overall winners to compete in a national NPC show. They're staging it at the same theater in the University of Buffalo for the 1st time, after many years squeezing people into a school auditorium. He just wanted to check out the place is what I am assuming.
It WOULD have been a good gesture for the promoter of the NGA show to let Joe in, as they're both known promoters. Don't know much about any history between them. It would have been the right thing to do, but there must be a lot of jealousy over how good Joe's show is.
You acted like a tough guy, and now you're bragging about it. Shows what a cheap jerk the guy you work for is, and what an idiot you are to brag about this.
Joe's Buffalo show beats that lousy natural show in every class. And he's got more class than you'll ever have.

The God's honest truth is most of these security types are a bunch of thugs trying to intimidate you and show you who's "boss", even though you did nothing wrong. They're a bunch of nobodies. "Security guard" wow what a prestigious job. You're a nobody, you steroid abusing fag. Just the way they look at you. They always seem to want to show you how big, strong and tough they are. I'm always thinking "hey asshole I'm just sitting here minding my own business doing my own thing, stop giving me that stupid stare, I know you could kick my ass and all, but just go fuck yourself douchebag, I'm not even doing anything stop looking at me like that". Would it kill these asswipes to smile a bit and make you feel comfortable?

He wanted to look backstage and see how Jerry had the show set up because he has no idea how to run a show. It was at Buff state college performing arts center...a very nice, very expensive auditorium to rent out. Lazzaro's show is crap, and not even close to Freeman's show, and even Jim Rockell (who im not a big fan of) puts on a better show than him.
Bottom line is the guy was a scumbag. I was polite with him and told him what the promoter told me to tell him, and he tried to get rowdy with me before realizing what a bad idea that was. He made himself look like an ass in front of his friends, and in front of the event staff that was also there.

why would you comp someone tickets to someone who talks shit about your show? Truth be told, they used to be good friends, and Joe's dad is an upright guy and is respected. Joe is a douchebag, and if he wanted to come see the show he could have asked ahead of time and im sure jerry would have been more than happy to help him. Jerry bends over backwards for people, and puts a lot of time and energy into promoting natural bodybuilding, and the NGA is one of the only organizations with 100% testing of competitors. This isn't a who's better argument, its a recount of what an ass Joe Lazzaro was in front of a bunch of people. Comparing the Mr. Buffalo show to an NGA show is apples and oranges. Natural vs. Chemically assisted bodybuilders. Don't tell me you're too stupid to know the difference.

I called the promoter and he told me no way was he letting that guy backstage during the show. I let Mr. Lazaro know that if he wanted to come in and see the show he would have to buy tickets, but there was no way he was going backstage. He thought about buying a ticket, but his wife got in his ear and told him that we should just let him in. After I explained that wasn't going to happen he got snotty and said that's ok, there's going to be a REAL bodybuilding show here next week. Then i told him that for shit talking about the NGA show he could just leave and he no longer had the option to buy tickets to come in. Then I told him and his 2 companions that they can leave the building. Then Lazaro tells me to go fuck myself as he's walking away. I was polite and said Good luck with your show next week Mr. Lazaro, and he came back towards me, he's like "and what's your fuckin name, who are you" I pointed at my chest and said read the fuckin nametag asshole. Then he steps up and tried to get in my face, a little nose to nose, but he was a little short for that. I told him to give me a reason...and he lost eye contact and looked at his buddy like he wanted help. I told him to leave before i make him leave and he left.

The truth is, Lazzaro is a low class piece of shit who showed up late and tried to get in without paying. He wanted to look backstage and see how Jerry had the show set up because he has no idea how to run a show. It was at Buff state college performing arts center...a very nice, very expensive auditorium to rent out. Lazzaro's show is crap, and not even close to Freeman's show, and even Jim Rockell (who im not a big fan of) puts on a better show than him.
Bottom line is the guy was a scumbag. I was polite with him and told him what the promoter told me to tell him, and he tried to get rowdy with me before realizing what a bad idea that was. He made himself look like an ass in front of his friends, and in front of the event staff that was also there.
I don't know you from a hole in the wall, but I liked your story, Keg. I never met Lazzaro but I can imagine this happening. This joker shows up at a local show and thinks he is some bigshot that can walk in without paying? Give me a break. What was the ticket price for the finals, maybe $30? His cheap ass couldn't pay and take a seat like everyone else? I'm glad you punked him. Good job.
