all I have to say is you're going to slit your wrists if you move so far from an onramp...even if you work from home, you're going to get nowhere fast living out in bfe..take you half an hour to get to Costco and 20 minutes to get gas...
Move to Nelly Gale -- TONS of awesome houses (every one is million+) and like 2 minutes from the 405.

hahahaha, exactly, i've been saying the same thing about that clown for awhile now, Ron Harris aka "pazuzu" is the Quarter Rep King, hahahaha, absolutely BRUTAL 14 inch arms on that guy.
-
How much will you weigh Alex23 with Ron Harris conditioning not a jibe just interested as you are natural.
-
his right delt is bigger than his left. considerably bigger.
he poses like a retard.
he has zero traps.
why does he have job at muscular development?? some of the people they have on board are really fuckin poor choices.
john romano only makes sense because he writes really good op/ed pieces..
i dont understand why blechmen would be the editor of a muscle magazine.....although it seems like he does a pretty good job with it. he would still be better off at mens health or gq; and md would be better off with an editor that looks the part.
-
He's a good writer, he lives the bodybuilding lifestyle, and he definitely respects the female side of it. He's a good choice for his position.
He admitted that he fudged the truth regarding his posts here - boosting himself up under an anonymous account - so you gotta respect him coming clean about it.
Has he ever come out and made outrageous claims about his weight?
-
He's a good writer,
240 im going to have to respectfully disagree with you.
in my opinion his writing is equal to a freshman journalism major..... meets the basic requirements; but nothing at all fantastic or unique about it.

MD, like FLEX, Like People, like USA Today and most other publications, is designed for an American reader at about the 8th grade reading level.
Some of the articles that delve into the tougher topics will use bigger words and require schema/background knowledge in higher level topics. But the writing is designed so a 13 year old can comprehend it.
12th grade or college-level writing is hard to read, requiring concentration, sometimes a dictionary, and a fairly educated reader. There are tests they do to measure the number of words/syllables per 100 words, taking into account how many sentences divide out, to ascertain the reading level. (I had the forumla when I taught reading but have long since forgotten it).
So if Ron harris writes at an 8th grade level - he is doing what his bosses (the American consumer) tell him to do. I don't know the level of his writing. But if it was 12th grade or college level, MD would sell less mags. I'm sure, like most writers, he could write at a level way above the 8th. But since that's what sells, that's what they'll write.

that is fucking pathetic.
i didnt know that.
-
that is fucking pathetic.
i didnt know that.
it is pathetic. I agree. But there are a few factors to consider.
"Consumable" publications like magazines and newspaper are designed to deliver a fair amount of info in predictable format with enough contextual clues and explanations so that the reader can comprehend the article by itself. Designed to be skimmed or read. Designed keeping in mind that 20% of Americans don't finish high school. Hell, 0.67% of Americans still don't have indoor plumbing. We're a lazy lot. We need info presented quickly and easily.
Many journalistic purists hate this fact. They are writers and love big words and long descriptive phrases. However their consumer is statistically fat, lazy, slow, and not interested in learning - instead he/she is focused on passing the time and trying to "get ahead" by garnering something useful from this magazine. But, to pay their mortgage, they will (in the muscle magazine case) continually rehash training and diet articles, rotating impressive words while following the formula of "leaving enough clues that Joe Dropout can understand it while dropping a deuce during the 15 minute break of his crappy job", hoping he'll read long enough to buy a supplement or two so their mag's ad revenue continues.
It's consumerism. Part of consumerism is dumbing down these disposable publications so the greatest number of people will read it for the greatest number of minutes and return to buy it again. In this world, you are only rewarded for being smarter than everyone else if you drive past the magazine racks and stop at the library instead.
-
I only wish that the magazines have some credebility and get rid of some supplement advertising.
Dumbing it down maybe a reason not to jepodise some supplements.
-
You had a thread going Alex that Ron Harris was not in the 190s rather the 170s and it strangly dissappeard.
Alex what weight are you going to come in to match Ron Harris conditioning.Simple question.
-
thread wasn't about conditioning. Alex was raising a legitimate question--why is Harris lying about his weight.
-
Alex seemed very volatile just curios how he would stack up against Ron Harris.
-
Its prolly tough having a wife with a better physique than you.
Rons wife.
That's not fair! It's only her arms, legs and back that are better... um, yeah.. that about covers it. But look at it this way, they're very close in weight.
-
The calling out of Ron Harris has incredibly resurfaced i guess this makes this thread null and void.

Hey guys! Glad to see you still think about me once in a while. Regarding my weight, here is my contest history. Hopefully you all realize that to compete in the NPC in the men's Heavyweight division, you need to weigh in excess of 198 1/4 pounds in shape. Therefore the claim that I am in the 170's, which I haven't been for well over 15 years, is inaccurate.

The last time I touched a steroid, and it was a 6-week cycle of 50 mg oral Winny a day plus 75 mg tren EOD, was Feb of 2006. I stopped the cycle a few days before the Arnold Classic, which I attended. All these photos were taken in the last month. I am currently preparing for the NPC Natural Colonial Cup and anticipate being at the very top of the LH class, 198 1/4. In all these shots I weigh between 200-203 pounds and have indeed been drug-free for over a year, as per the stipulations of NPC tested events. By no means do I claim to be a 'natural bodybuilder,' since I did use steroids.
-
And also, I am well aware that my arms are nothing special. I have been working them very hard for many years, but they have never responded as well as everything else. More pics, taken over the past month.
-
looking good Ron.
-
Squadfather, you were very cordial to me in PM's a few months ago after you were 'exposed,' and even asked for advice in losing fat. Why are you insulting me again?
-

check the post above Ron.
-
Now I'm confused, Squad. Anyway, my arms are about 17 1/4 now that I am in shape. Off-season the left is 18 1/4 and the right is 18. Oddly, even when I was on AAS they never got much bigger. Only my strong points like chest, shoulders, and quads kept growing even though I trained everything equally hard.
My arms haven't been 14 inches since I was about 16 years old, and I turn 38 next month. At this point, I would be more than happy to get them up to 19 off-season, 18 in shape.
-
u look really good in those pics Ron.
U just must be really "dense" ;D
Nice of u to come on getbig for a change though!!!!
Its alot worse than it used to be i'll tell u that, now the shit talking has no value, everyone has been ousted as gimmick accounts. Its pretty sad here, there are guys who have gimmick accounts, for their gimmicks. Its rather pathetic.
-
I think what makes ur arms look really small is your lack of a brachialis. Ur arms really REALLY dissapear from the back. So that gives them less of that "rounded" look.

Thanks Flexington. BTW, 240 iis dead on when he says that the mags are targeted at a fairly unsophisticated average American male, 18-25, that probably doesn't read much higher than an 8-th grade level.

i've got my doubts about your arm size Ron to be honest, like i said you've got a good build but your arms look nowhere near that big.
-
Actually, what makes my arms look small is their LACK OF SIZE! LOL
The arm measurements I said are true. If I were going to lie, I would at least say they were 19 - everybody and their grandmother on the Internet claims their arms are at least 20 these days.
-
sure beats Romano's physique... It's good to see a writer who writes as well as trains.
-
Does the arm look any bigger here? Regardless, they are a little over 17 now, which isn't very big at all.

honestly my arms are about 18 and a half and they look almost as big as your legs, how can yours be over 18, i un derstand that my bodyfat is a lot higher but come on.

Ron looking great...
But damn it, I thought your website was www.ronharris.com - and when I went there.... welll.... now my wife won't be so happy LOL
LOL --- learned my lesson, Ronharrismuscle.com

Really good shoulders and chest ,when i am lean and vascular im about 220 at 6ft but if i tried to attain your conditioning id be crushed (EGO)in dropping the weight to be stage ready.
Alex has certainly underestimated you, ;D congratulations you look awesome
-
haha, no they look pretty small in this pic as well!
I have the same problem ron. Im 5'9 190lbs, but I have really long arms, so its hard for me to pack some meat onto them. I dont know if this is ur problem or not, but it sux havin skinny arms, especially when everything else looks good.
Does the arm look any bigger here? Regardless, they are a little over 17 now, which isn't very big at all.

Ron, why have you decided to stop using Steroids? Is this for good, or just some time off?

no offense to you Ron...But 3/4 of the guys that write over on MD also fall into that 8th grade level...Of course not yourself or Romano...And as far as DA, that man has to be some where at the elementry level...
By the way you look great...Hugh quad as always
-
Hey Ron,
whoever said you can't write is full of bs. Your articles are the best ones in MD. Also you seem to be improving so keep up the good work and gl and the competition.
-
Ach, I decided to stop using AAS for several reasons.
1) Didn't want to risk legal trouble
2) What was the point? Not like I am a pro bb and make a living from my physique (not that many of them do either)
3) Health risks, especially long term
4) Expense
5) They never worked that well for me anyway
6) Got tired of being on the merry-go-round - making gains, losing some of them, over and over
-
Ron, your arms look about 13 1/2 inches in that video. How much are you weighing there ? 145 pounds ? You need to invest in some protein powder.
-
Look good Ron...interesting to read about why you stopped AAS
Regarding your arms, do you feel they saw any benefit from the 'DOGGCRAPP' Training?
-
ron harriis "zippy the antichrist" is a good story. i like it. but you could have written it better.
-
145? Are you smoking crack right now? The last time I was that light was around 1988!
-
how tall are you ? seriously you look about 160 pounds tops. Sort of like one of those might mites that are 5-4 135 and ripped.
-
Ron, as you know GetBig has MANY twits who like to make themselves feel good by making snide comments.
-
honestly my arms are about 18 and a half and they look almost as big as your legs, how can yours be over 18, i un derstand that my bodyfat is a lot higher but come on.
gosh ron won't even have to work abs tonight or tommorow he probably is laughing at you so hard right now.....
chubby fat ass.
Rons flat and depleted a bit big deal he looks good for a natural trains hard and eats good and damn has a very hot wife some great kids and great writer ...

I am 5-8 without shoes - Air Max360's or boots get me up around 5-9.

Ron,
What is your honest opinion of grown men who wear daisy dukes and/or untied work boots to the gym?
-
Hopefully these pics will at least clear up the issue of my height or lack thereof:
Heidi Fletcher is 4-11. Even Centopani is 5-11, and Jay Cutler is 5-9.
-
Daisy Dukes - very questionable - unlaced boots: dangerous! Tie the laces, at least.
-
all bullshit aside Ron has a very good build.
-
If it helps, I never claimed to have a great physique and never would say that. Obviously if that were the case I would have won a lot of shows by now instead of taking a whole lot of second and third places over the years. I've done a lot with the genetics I was given, which were average at best. People relate to me more than the pro's a lot of the time because they know nothing came easy for me.

More Heidi Fletcher please!!

Agree ;)
-
Heidi's site www.heidifletcher.com has a lot of good photos. Check it out. Nice Massachusetts girl!
-
honestly my arms are about 18 and a half
You're a fucken liar, Dave. You've said in the past, on at least two different occasions, that "my arms are BARELY 18 inches on a good day" (and that's a direct quote).
-

heidi F. is a nice loafa but she knows it.. too much.
Ron, last question man, why a smart talented guy like you hangs on to a bb lifestyle that is obviously dead ended and detrimental?
Don't get me wrong big, I love to train but when career calls, I've got a 140k/yr doing engineering on one side and my 240lb ego mirror on the other side of the balance.
what do I choose?
Why do you hang so tightly to this world? I feel bad because I think you're one of the talented soul hanging with the MD freaks. You deserve better. That's why I made that wavy thread. Hope we can pop something out of it.

Ron looks great in my book 8).

Alex23, I actually enjoy what I do very much.
I don't like to discuss income, but it seems you and I make very, very, VERY close to the same amount a year. And I can't complain about my job. I work at home, make my own hours, and to be honest, I rarely spend more than 15-20 hours a week actually working. A lot of my work is talking on the phone to guys about training and diet, things I like to talk about anyway. I love the sport, even if I do think the drugs have gone too far, and I can't ever see myself not training even if I moved on to some other type of writing that had nothing to do with bb.
As for MD, Steve Blechman was the man that allowed me to finally start making a decent living writing for bb mags in 2001. Before that I was struggling to have enough steady work and had to hustle to come up with article ideas all the time. A couple years before that, I was actually offered a position as a staff writer at Weider. It would have entailed a 90-minute to 2-hour commute from Covina to Woodland Hills every morning, probably 40-50 hours in an office a week, and for, get this - roughly a third of what I earn now. Plus, I am technically freelance, which means I am free to continue writing for Musclemag, Ironman, REPS, or anybody else I want to. So I get to support my wife and two kids and spend plenty of time with them. How could I complain about that?
-

god lord look out!
A "height" debate/topic post! MattC :D will be in here faster than the grease drips from Squatfatters chin after inhaling a cheesesteak and a couple of cocks. ;D

Sounds like a pretty good setup to me, most of us slave away in jobs that we hate just to make ends meet so to speak :-\.
-
No lie, I still have nightmares about the job I had in TV production in LA from 1991-1998. I was in a cubicle with a boss breathing down my neck 24-7 to make sure I was working hard enough for my money, which wasn't very good either.
I also was a personal trainer for about a year and a half out in Pasadena after that before I had enough writing work to make a living at it. I would be in that gym as early as 4:30 AM and as late as 9:30 PM a lot of weekdays. Prior jobs as a younger man included cashier at a convenience store, dishwasher, Burger King, hospital kitchen/dietary dept. - I had my share of crappy jobs which makes me so grateful to have made a career at something I actually enjoy and am interested in.

Good for you, Ron.

Alex is a beast, but is he a natural?
-
Alex is a beast, but is he a natural?
i believe him when he says he's natural and you're right he is a monster.
-
Dude,
why to you parade around claiming to be in the 190-200 range when you obviously hoover around 170 with Dock Martens with heavy laces on?
Nothing personal man but you're full of shit.
Come by and say Hi at the Olympia, I'll show you what natural mass and gifted bodybuidling is all about.
hey pick on someone your own size you son of a bitch
-
This is the Internet.
The place where everybody is a cage fighter, 19"+ arms, makes 40k a month and pushes 4 times their body weight at every imaginable lifts.
Also the best place to create drama especially when trying to jolt the board back to life.... which I owe Ron H. an appology for.
I'm a pretty nice guy in person. I don't hide behind a keyboard but not disrecpectful either.
-
"Come on Napoleon, we both know I'm training to be a cage fighter." LOL
-
My legs today - now if I had the same genetics in my arms, they would probably be 20 inches by now for sure.
-
And I KNOW you love the boots! Once you have squatted and leg pressed with them, you would never train legs in sneakers again.
-
looking good Ron.
-
And I KNOW you love the boots! Once you have squatted and leg pressed with them, you would never train legs in sneakers again.
I love the boots as well. Nothing beats a pair of Magnums with the zip on the side. No heel slipping.
Looking good bro. How difficult is it to balance your conditioning/mass/diet?
Do you feel the hit everytime you miss a meal and diverge from your schedule?
-
And I KNOW you love the boots! Once you have squatted and leg pressed with them, you would never train legs in sneakers again.
i like to train legs barefoot.
-
i like to train legs barefoot.
You also think chest flies are better than barbell presses.
-
This is the first time I have dieted down without the use of any drugs since my last natural show in 1995. It is MUCH, MUCH harder to try and just maintain muscle mass. I knew that was going to be the case and I read up a lot on how top natural bb's do it, so I dieted a lot longer than usual, and more gradually. I started cleaning up my diet in mid-January weighing around 232-234. Here I am in August at 199. I also knew I couldn't do too much cardio or I would burn up mass. I never did more than 45 minutes a day, 6 days a week, and only started up doing 7 days about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't take my cals or carbs down too low, either, as I know that with my body, I would lose muscle. My low-carb days are 40-50 grams, (Sun, Wed, and Sat) and the other 4 days which are the days I weight train, they range around 250-350 grams. Don't even know the cals, to be honest. Probably close to 3,000.
-
legs look amazing Ron. And I would have to say your definetely living the life, u got a great job, a hot wife, u spend endless hours online at message boards! and u compete as a bodybuilder ( and dont get embarassed on stage) it doesnt get much better than that.
-
Thanks Flexington - but I probably spend about an hour to 90 minutes a day total on the boards. Don't have much more time than that!
-
The last time I touched a steroid, and it was a 6-week cycle of 50 mg oral Winny a day plus 75 mg tren EOD, was Feb of 2006.
Your as big as you were when you were when geared, who are you kidding with the clean bullshit? ::)
-
No way Ron is clean, juiced up recently.
-
he is a weeee little fella
-
I WISH I was as big as when I juiced, even though I never was a monster even on gear. Here are a few pics of me geared up - last shot was the 2005 New England. I weighed in at 209 there, and right now I am already down to 198 with 9 days left to go til my show. Again, here is juiced. . .
-
And here is clean, all taken this week. My waist is a full 3 inches smaller now than when I was dieted down on gear - and I never used GH, just steroids and fat burners like clen and T-3.
Bottom line, I can't win this argument. If I look good, I must still be on drugs. If I look bad, all I would hear is "HAHAHAHAHA you little natural twerp, I am clean and I am 300 times bigger than you!"
-
Looking good Ron, I'm looking forward to seeing you compete next weekend! 8)

Lori, why are you here? Don't you have your hands full with the schmoes, guidos and fag hags at MD?
-
So let me get this straight, you are only 8 pounds lighter, with the same conditioning, compared to when you were geared? ::)
You have used steroids, for most likely 10 years, (if you are still now using substances which void ones natural status we most likely will never know), is it fair on lifetimes naturals that you are competing?
This kind of thing imo, makes "natural" bodybuilding a joke.
Guys who couldnt do shit while sauced up, trying to get make it as a "natural".
-

Just your typical healthy American male who's grossed about by penoris-having quasi trannies like you. ;)

Not being a dick to you, Ron, this is just what I think.
-
Lori, thanks for stopping by!
DavidPaul, here's the math one more time: ON JUICE: 209 on stage
NO JUICE - 198 with 9 days to go, meaning I will probably be 195 on stage. 209-195= 16 pounds, twice the 8 pounds you just mentioned. And do I think it's fair for a former juicer of 8 years (with a nearly 2-year break in there at one point) to compete against lifetime natties? NO! That's why I am doing a show (NPC) where the stipulation is that you be clean for at least ONE YEAR - which I am, plus another 6 months. There are other orgs that ask you to be 5 yrs drug-free, 7 yrs, or lifetime. So if someone does not want to go up against a guy or girl that used gear as recently maybe as a year or two ago, they should stay away from these one-year clean shows and orgs.
-
Make that 14 pounds - I always kicked ass in English and sucked ass in math.
-
Let's play; WHO AM I ?
- I have no neck,
-I take male hormones,
-I am a shorty,
-I like to talk about my butt
and i enjoy parading my horribly-tanned body to audiences of freaks, retards and losers!
-
Clue; The person in question is a female, and tends to have an obsession with her bubble-butt; loves to talk about it and feild comments on it!
Hope this helps......
So to all you paranoid ''male roiders'', it is not you.....and yes there are a lot of short-ass bodybuilders, aren't there?
-

I read your post, I hear ya man, I see where your coming from, good luck at your show bro.

Thanks DP. Just gonna do the best I can. You never who else is gonna show up or what they will look like.
-
Thanks DP. Just gonna do the best I can. You never who else is gonna show up or what they will look like.
Your arms and upper body looks bigger at then weight, definately man, arms look MUCH improved.
-
On drugs, my chest and delts always blew up, yet oddly my arms didn't seem to grow much at all. Without drugs, everything seems to grow at a much more even rate - why this would happen I have no idea.
-
Clue No.2; This female, is a cocky-little-shit who spends endless hours on here
talking about herself....oh yeah, did i mention that she has no neck also!
-

Yeah you had heavyweight delts and chest for sure, your legs look sick btw.

You should know this being in the industry. Delt area is more dense with androgen receptors. Big traps + big delts = androgen look.
