Hopefully these pics will at least clear up the issue of my height or lack thereof:
Heidi Fletcher is 4-11. Even Centopani is 5-11, and Jay Cutler is 5-9.

More Heidi Fletcher please!!

honestly my arms are about 18 and a half

You're a fucken liar, Dave.  You've said in the past, on at least two different occasions, that "my arms are BARELY 18 inches on a good day"  (and that's a direct quote).

heidi F. is a nice loafa but she knows it.. too much.

Ron, last question man, why a smart talented guy like you hangs on to a  bb lifestyle that is obviously dead ended and detrimental?

Don't get me wrong big, I love to train but when career calls, I've got a 140k/yr doing engineering on one side and my 240lb ego mirror on the other side of the balance.

what do I choose?

Why do you hang so tightly to this world? I feel bad because I think you're one of the talented soul hanging with the MD freaks. You deserve better. That's why I made that wavy thread. Hope we can pop something out of it.

Ach, I decided to stop using AAS for several reasons.
1) Didn't want to risk legal trouble
2) What was the point? Not like I am a pro bb and make a living from my physique (not that many of them do either)
3) Health risks, especially long term
4) Expense
5) They never worked that well for me anyway
6) Got tired of being on the merry-go-round - making gains, losing some of them, over and over

Sounds like a smart man, to me......
HAHA, RON.....

Alex23, I actually enjoy what I do very much.

I don't like to discuss income, but it seems you and I make very, very, VERY close to the same amount a year. And I can't complain about my job. I work at home, make my own hours, and to be honest, I rarely spend more than 15-20 hours a week actually working. A lot of my work is talking on the phone to guys about training and diet, things I like to talk about anyway. I love the sport, even if I do think the drugs have gone too far, and I can't ever see myself not training even if I moved on to some other type of writing that had nothing to do with bb.

As for MD, Steve Blechman was the man that allowed me to finally start making a decent living writing for bb mags in 2001. Before that I was struggling to have enough steady work and had to hustle to come up with article ideas all the time. A couple years before that, I was actually offered a position as a staff writer at Weider. It would have entailed a 90-minute to 2-hour commute from Covina to Woodland Hills every morning, probably 40-50 hours in an office a week, and for, get this - roughly a third of what I earn now. Plus, I am technically freelance, which means I am free to continue writing for Musclemag, Ironman, REPS, or anybody else I want to. So I get to support my wife and two kids and spend plenty of time with them. How could I complain about that?

Sounds like a pretty good setup to me, most of us slave away in jobs that we hate just to make ends meet so to speak :-\.

No lie, I still have nightmares about the job I had in TV production in LA from 1991-1998. I was in a cubicle with a boss breathing down my neck 24-7 to make sure I was working hard enough for my money, which wasn't very good either.

I also was a personal trainer for about a year and a half out in Pasadena after that before I had enough writing work to make a living at it. I would be in that gym as early as 4:30 AM and as late as 9:30 PM a lot of weekdays. Prior jobs as a younger man included cashier at a convenience store, dishwasher, Burger King, hospital kitchen/dietary dept. - I had my share of crappy jobs which makes me so grateful to have made a career at something I actually enjoy and am interested in.

why to you parade around claiming to be in the 190-200 range when you obviously hoover around 170 with Dock Martens with heavy laces on?

Nothing personal man but you're full of shit.

Come by and say Hi at the Olympia, I'll show you what natural mass and gifted bodybuidling is all about.

This is the Internet.

The place where everybody is a cage fighter, 19"+ arms, makes 40k a month and pushes 4 times their body weight at every imaginable lifts.

Also the best place to create drama especially when trying to jolt the board back to life....  which I owe Ron H. an appology for.

I'm a pretty nice guy in person. I don't hide behind a keyboard but not disrecpectful either.

My legs today - now if I had the same genetics in my arms, they would probably be 20 inches by now for sure.

And I KNOW you love the boots! Once you have squatted and leg pressed with them, you would never train legs in sneakers again.

I love the boots as well. Nothing beats a pair of Magnums with the zip on the side. No heel slipping.

Looking good bro. How difficult is it to balance your conditioning/mass/diet?

Do you feel the hit everytime you miss a meal and diverge from your schedule?

This is the first time I have dieted down without the use of any drugs since my last natural show in 1995. It is MUCH, MUCH harder to try and just maintain muscle mass. I knew that was going to be the case and I read up a lot on how top natural bb's do it, so I dieted a lot longer than usual, and more gradually. I started cleaning up my diet in mid-January weighing around 232-234. Here I am in August at 199. I also knew I couldn't do too much cardio or I would burn up mass. I never did more than 45 minutes a day, 6 days a week, and only started up doing 7 days about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't take my cals or carbs down too low, either, as I know that with my body, I would lose muscle. My low-carb days are 40-50 grams, (Sun, Wed, and Sat) and the other 4 days which are the days I weight train, they range around 250-350 grams. Don't even know the cals, to be honest. Probably close to 3,000.
