I thought I would share some most recent pics with you guys. Things are going good with my contest prep and i feel I'm almost ready.
Maybe I can answer some questions before you ask. For those who don't know, there are weight classes at nationals. I'm probably going to be a lightweight, and weigh in at 154lbs. I'm about 160 right now. I'm 5'4". Last time I competed I won the lightweight class at the USA in 2006. I don't think I'm the greatest or the best. I'm just competing against those in my weight class. Last time I posted there were some pretty non important questions, such as: whats my blood pressure like? whats up with the beenie? could you post your cycle? etc. etc. Anyways, here goes...
-
That ... my Friends ... is Shredded ! Good luck, Bro ! :)
-
Looking good. What's your diet secret?
oh and....
whats up with the beenie? could you post your cycle? ;D ;D
-
Only 160? I weigh 215, therefore I am bigger than you :) Maybe that means I should compete at the nationals?
(kidding)

That is some sick ass conditioning. Well done. But do you think you'll be able to hold that for another 2.5 weeks? Oh, in the first pic, spread your lats a little to make you look thicker. All in all dude you are spot on.
-

Whats your nutritional breakdown right now?

I have a bit more than two weeks to go and its going great. Im going to tighten up more as when its time, I will cut down the water and should be ready when I need to. The beenie is good luck! believe me. I get my cholesterol and blood pressure checked regularly. All the cardio keeps me in shape. Anyways, keep a look out for me! peace!

Thanks, I will tell you that I work hard on eating clean year round. Ive gotten used to eating clean. I have a little girl, wife, full time job, house, pets etc, stress. Its not easy. Im not some dillusional idiot who only obsesses over bodybuilding. For me, its a lifestyle, its for fun and for being healthy. My diet is very simple and ive really gotten used to eating clean.

Full credit, You may have a life but getting in to that shape takes a certain level of obssesiveness but thats a good thing in Bbing.
-
How many calories are you eating currently? What's the macronutrient breakdown like?
Thanks.
-
I dont count my calories, i really dont count carbs. I just weigh my food. I know what my body needs and I adjust accordingly. I eat about 400 grams of carbs per day. Thats alot for a guy 160ls. I eat, only white rice, and oatmeal with brown sugar for carbs. Steak, chicken breast, turkey breast, eggwhites and lately salmon.
-
Awesome bro your' f'n shredded.

-

Oh, you're close very close. Nice work.
I dont wear any particular brand, I think Adiddas. I like black shoes, they stay clean longer.
Thanks Issac and Ron. I plan on bringing the best I can to the show, then It will be out of my hands. I still have 2 weeks to get drier and harder. Keep an eye out for me though, thanks alex
-

be very careful so you dont loose too much mass the last 2 weeks.

Thanks Squadfather, Wes, coach and everyone! Im working hard and its paying off. Im pretty much doing it alone, but I do have my wife on my side. Im just a regular guy, wife, kid, full time job, house, pets, stress, plenty to keep me busy.
I train at North Hollywood Golds. Old school gym, Albert Beckles, Nicky Fuller train there daily. Its a good place. I dont hang around though, just train and hit the road. Im usually in a hurry to pick up my daughter from school. Its all good though, peace folks!
-
I doubt if Alex will lose any size since he eats a clean pre-contest type diet yearlong and does cardio all the time.
Definately getting a pro-card at the Nats.

FANTASTIC
Good luck....you look CRAZY!!!!

i agree, he looks excellent, the real fuccking crime is that once he gets to the pros he'll have a hard time if he wants to compete because of all the huge behemoths competing who are huge everywhere, stomach, heads, everywhere and it's a fuccking shame that a guy who looks this awesome shouldn't get some attention in the pro ranks.
-
Being that ripped creates an illusion of being much bigger.
-
Being that ripped creates an illusion of being much bigger.
Shit....does that mean I'll have to be 160 as well :'(??
-
Dave,I definately agree but a pro-card can help a guy out as far as sponsorships, endorsements, and personal training.
A damn shame that some of the lighter guys get overlooked once they turn pro.
Too many of them however try to play the size game and ruin their physiques actually forgetting what got them the pro-card in the first place.
-

Joe,how ya` looking at present and when is your contest?
Sorry if it`s been posted already.

Joe,how ya` looking at present and when is your contest?
Sorry if it`s been posted already.
I'm a ahead of schedule with 4 1/2 weeks to go...my weight is fluxuating between 196 (first thing in the morning) and about 201 in the evening, we cut the cheat (carb) days out in about a week or two.
-
Sounds good bud.......your old adversary Scott Livingstone is kicking a lot of ass in the Over-50 division.
Stay focused bro!
-

Take out the oatmeal 2 days before contest and replaced with white rice, don't change anything no carb depletion, stop anabolic 10 days out, and drink water till Friday 11 PM, don't take any diuretic (will flat you out). Keep doing the cardio. Don't use any product with cratine.
-
you look diced and ready.
keep in simple in your last week. the way things stand even water manipulation shoudlnt even be too big a concern. i can't see you needing any type of diuretic come contest time being as lean as you now are, making the balance for filling out less of a chore, but his isnt your first barbq either- you know the deal.
too many guys lose it in the last week with thier water.
keep your plan tight and stick to it. no second guesses.
keep your head, your there.
best of luck.
-
Coach, you must be doing the Excaliber? We will be there. We go to all the Jon Lindsay Shows. Excaliber is a kick ass show, big local show.
Wes, Scott Livingstone does kick some ass. He is a blast from the past, I think the guy won lightweight class at the USA twenty five years ago or something. But I see the guy at every show. He always kicks ass in the masters. Good conditioning for his age especially.
Catch up to you guys later, I have to take my daughter out Trick or Treating now! take care
-
how tall are you?
-
Yeah,Alex Scotts been around a long time and has made a great comeback.
-
Sounds good bud.......your old adversary Scott Livingstone is kicking a lot of ass in the Over-50 division.
Stay focused bro!
It's funny you mentioned Scottie. Two weeks ago we were at the Border States and my fiance' points out on stage "isn't that your friend" I looked and said damn, that IS Scott. He wound up winning the Over-50 masters, so after he got off stage he goes and sits in the front row, I get up from my seat, go and sit by him, he turns to me, I turned to him and first freaking thing that comes out of his mouth after 20+ years of not seeing each other is......"Fuck, you got old", I almost fell out my seat I was laughing so freaking hard....LOL!!
-

yes, first show in 17 years. Scott told me he did 7 shows this year after him not competing for along time, I think he won most of them.
-
Alex, how much cardio are you doing?
-
"Ripped City" Brother. The Nationals is definitely the real deal for top amateurs. Good Luck and God Bless!
-
Unbelievable Alex! Im in awe right now....awesome, awesome conditioning!
-
Thanks for keeping in touch guys

IMO you should not change anything?, you don't need to tighten up anymore?? you will just end up losing muscle in these last 2 weeks, just maintain what you have now!, don't fuck it by trying to get even tighter cause IMO you can't get much more tighter then u are. If you're ready 2 weeks out then keep it that way, i don't know why guys feel then need to try and come in even tighter when they already have shredded glutes 2 weeks out? You will end up looking smooth on contest day.
-
looking great man! ripped..thats all i can say
-
sooner or later youll have to take it to next level if want to place in pro show,,genetic responsd is average but whast you did with this genetic is superb,,this is what bodybuilding should be this guy right here,,never the less get the doses and the not so clean food ready for the pro level,,you will have to bring it at 175-180lb on pro stage to even dream about top 5,,and if you dont make it this time around to a pro card try to eat less clean part of the year ,, you need to add more muscle for pro circuit 07 in anycase
this is best amatuer physiqe ive seen on getbig to date with a very average genetic,,good for you my friend
-
i don't know if this was already asked. did see an answer for it but how much cardio are you doing
-
,never the less get the doses and the not so clean food ready for the pro level
C'mon now, we have our agreement and our disagreements.....this is one HUGE disagreement!
try to eat less clean part of the year
As much as we (society) loves their junk, there is NO physiological reason to eat less clean, the less processed foods, the better, the cleaner the better, eating less clean is like pouring salt into a gas tank, eventually it begins to breakdown and running less efficiantly. This is not speculation, this is FACT!
-
Alex this thread is on another level my friend...you are in uncharted territory for any message board, we have never seen this combination of conditioning, level-headedness and willingness to DISCUSS. Congratulations, this is progress for the sport overall; I'm sure of it. I'm telling you, you're on a plane none have seen yet; just incredible...
Note how there is nothing but respect in this thread. That's right children, the grown folks are talking! This is great, man...seriously, congrats. You've got Squadfather bowing down, you've got gh15 handing you his own brand of number one labeling, you've got Wes saying "PRO CARD FOR SURE," bro you're in the zone, STAY THERE.
Viewing every picture my mouth dropped after saying "FUCK." Ha Ha...
MattT's right when he says it looks like changing ANYTHING would only turn it south at this point, but I know you know better than any of us how much more is possible...see we look at that and can't see anything left to get off, but you in that shell must can surely dream more, which is again a VERY UNIQUE perspective that you've achieved here.
PROPS bro.
-
coach i think what gh15 means is not to stay lean all year roiund..as it is easy to gain muscle and fat rather than jus pure muscle..for that u have to eat some chinese, japanes... ;D
-
Damn how does this Dude Get so ripped eating 400 grams of carbs a day? :D
-
Damn how does this Dude Get so ripped eating 400 grams of carbs a day? :D
He told me he just kept on dieting after winning his class at the USA's; this guy's a precision-tuned machine at this point.

Flavo is 4'10" and during his contest preparation eats 400g to 500g carbs and 2hr cardio per day, the cardio is very important.
-
Biceps what you told him earlier sounded like very sound advice; you sound like you know your shit.
-

No.. cardio is least important. Diet is most important.
-
You look great, Alex. I have a lot more respect for guys that eat clean all year and make it a lifestyle than those who just get in shape when they have to. I don't think that should be what it's all about. If someone really loves the training and the lifestyle they would never let their BF % go over about 10 or so. There is no reason to do so and it reeks of a lack of dedication, IMO.

Im going to get back to the other posts soon, but i have to respond to this.
Bro, I appreciate that. It is a lifestyle for me. I enjoy looking lean and looking like a bodybuilder, thats what bodybuilding is all about. Its about training, eating clean and looking like a bodybuilder all the time. Its about being healthy and looking fit. I will never be a massive guy, so I want to make the best of what i got. My off season look is not that drastically different then I am now. Since the start of my diet and I have lost about five lbs.
-
No.. cardio is least important. Diet is most important.
No, cardio is very important if you starve you self you can louse up to 20 % muscle. You need to bi discipline and dedicated.
-
Wow!!
Good job Alex!!! :o

I'm right there with you all the way. I think a VAST majority of guys use the "off-season/bulking" claims as an excuse for being LAZY and not dedicated enough to live the lifestyle year round. People that put on 30+ pounds of flab just because they aren't mentally strong enough to eat clean and do cardio year round do not love bodybuilding with all their heart and soul.
-
=Arnold never got fat... He might not have been ripped, but he was NEVER fat... until he was over 50.
-
mewvirse is still trying to position himself as an off-season dorian . . .
-
After seeing Cutler at this year's Olympia, do you think he's spot on on conditioning and diet 24/7/365? Hell no, and it's his damn JOB.
People can say anything they want, there is no physical reason to get fat as hell during an "off-season"...ZERO. It's an excuse to eat like a pig and not do cardio because someone isn't mentally strong enough to be dedicated to fitness ALL YEAR.

Sorry to disturb this thread, seems to be a lot of people writing responses in quotes lately.

only when using insulin. That's also the reason he eats those carbs too ;)
-
Biceps what you told him earlier sounded like very sound advice; you sound like you know your shit.
I don't think Alex needs advice from Emeric Delzeg, no offense to Emeric. Alex knows what he is doing, he has always come in in crazy shape.

Man, that is one of the most intelligent posts i've ever read from a competing bodybuilder. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well of course not; I was just saying.

Looking incredible !!!!! :o :o :o :o
legs are even crazier than last year and the back is already tighter than last year when you were onstage
looks like it will be an easy win 8)

Please.
BTW, looking good.
-
lookin dry as hell...
how does it feel being in that condition as far as wellbeing... I imagine it takes a bit of stress on you, but lookin great, well done.
-
I wouldn't say shredded, but you are damn dry in those pics. Great conditioning.
-
Thanks Stavios, McFarland, Wes, everyone. And I appreciate those who could be concerned that I will blow it in the last weeks. I will tell you why I wont. I wont look a whole hell of a lot different than I do now( other than being drier and tighter) because I wont change a damn thing. Why break something that is working?
It makes no sense to make drastic changes, only unless you are looking off the mark. I figure, I will do my thing, what has been working for me now.
In those pics, they were shot in the gym, after cardio, training, a gallon or so of water, a couple cups of coffee throughout the day, some diet root beer and I ate an hour before. Do my legs look like they are holding water or need rest, do they everything to stop, load this, drop that, change this, change that.etc etc. . I dont think so. So keep an eye out for me at the gym at the hotel or the local gym in dallas, you might seem me doing some some cardio, because I plan on just doing my thing pretty much till the last day.
-
Damn how does this Dude Get so ripped eating 400 grams of carbs a day? :D
I had to respond to this too. 400 grams is pretty high but shit, i wish I could eat more. Im lucky I can eat this much. Good carbs too, white rice and brown sugar oatmeal. Good shit.
But my friends don't try this at home. My metabolism is revvin! and I can get away with this. At night, im hungy, i go to bed early because I get up early and at night all I think about is food. But I can't imagine eating only a hundred and fifty grams or so, wow, that would suck.
-

translation: I'm on high doses of t3, ephedrin, yohimbin, hgh and insulin.

i Should post my off season pics, but honestly most of that stuff I dont use. If I did, I would pretty much shrink up. I have not come down much in weight at all. But check this out, lots of guys do all that stuff and dont look like this anyways, oh well.
-
unreal. :o :o
-
just incredible damnit
-
ripped, but too much tren acne :(
you would know miguelito, ehh?

Halos are a wonderful thing ;) ;D

ALex...being as ripped as you are is going to cause a lot of speculation to what it is you take to get like that. A LOT of speculation, as you can already see. Just curious if it would be against your religion [bodybuilding] to give us somewhat of an idea of what your current cycle looks like???
Good luck! ;)
-
UN-FUCKING-REAL
-
dorian-eque conditioning :o
-
Alex A, how tall are you?
-
dorian-eque conditioning :o
Dorian never looked that hard and ripped.
-
Im 5'4" tall, pretty damn short, but thats how I can get away with being 160lbs. As far as cycle goes, if I told you guys, no one would believe me anyways. You know what I mean? Because already people are speculating things and talking about stuff I have no idea about.
For example, someone said, your on a mega dose of insulin, t-3, clen, etc. And I will tell you about insulin, I have never even seen it before, dont know anything about it.
People are going to say, "yeah right!" or your on more shit than anyone can immagine. And you know what? With all these guys out there trying to get shredded and dry, people are willing to do anything to get awesome results. So, If it was all about tons of t-3, insulin, growth, ephedrine, clen etc, then people would just down this shit like crazy and eveyone would look ridiculous. But it aint happening!
I will tell you, this may sound like some bullshit, but its the combination of , diet, cardio, training etc. that makes the package complete. I have figured out the right combination and it keeps working. Many guys keep making the same mistakes. Spending alot of money, hiring trainers, adding more to the cycle, etc. but in the end, they look the same. I do have a good combination that works and it works good, but I just dont share it with everyone.

don't worry about these jackasses Alex, you look phenomenal and these clowns would give their left nut to look as good as you, me included.

that's the sickest looking 154lb man I've ever seen! AWESOME physique! :o
-
Wow....
damn..that's shredded.
Here's a question...you've got 2 weeks until the show right? What can you possibly do to look better between now and then? I mean you look to me like you're ready to go.....
awsome.

I do have a good combination that works and it works good, but I just dont share it with everyone.
Fair enough ;)
Good luck at the nationals!
-
Im 5'4" tall, pretty damn short, but thats how I can get away with being 160lbs.
TRUTH!
and staying lean year round does help!
Stay strong A!~
-
I'd just like to know if Alex uses insulin, and if so, what Coach has to say about it LOL
-
he will have to be careful so he doesnt start loosing alot of muscle. very careful.
Your right brother. I have to be carefull. I will continue with the same diet, cardio etc. Cant make any major changes. Keep training hard these last two weeks.
-
Wow....
damn..that's shredded.
Here's a question...you've got 2 weeks until the show right? What can you possibly do to look better between now and then? I mean you look to me like you're ready to go.....
awsome.
I plan on not changing much. I will cut back on the water just slightly since, drinking water isnt making me hold it. IN these pics, I have drank more than a gallon of crystal light, diet drinks, and a couple cups of coffee. WHen I stop drinking for about 4 or 5 hours I just piss and dry out, thats pretty much it. I shouldnt look much different, sound like a plan?
-
Alex... big time props to you on your conditioning. thats as good as it gets in my book.... couple questions for ya if you don't mind.
1. sodium - do you watch it at all throughout the prep? do you do anything the last week/days with it?
2. do you drop injectable gear at some point before the show? and if so what goes and when?
-
Im going to get back to the other posts soon, but i have to respond to this.
Hi. What a fantastic example you are to every bodybuilder with your attitude and physique. You look incredible and ready NOW. Great to have you on the board. Your attitude (above) is what bodybuilding is all about. Good Luck at the show.
-
i Should post my off season pics, but honestly most of that stuff I dont use. If I did, I would pretty much shrink up. I have not come down much in weight at all. But check this out, lots of guys do all that stuff and dont look like this anyways, oh well.
...so when are you posting the girl pics?
-
:o :o :o
Alex, you look great. You've surely done your homework and I totally believe you (and agree with you) when you say that its really a matter of diet, training, and cardio.
Great job. I know you'll look great in Dallas becaue when you look that good its hard to mess it up.
Best of luck!
-
I've gotta admit...looking at this thread is really motivating.
-
hey whats' up ALex.lookin sharp, reaLLy sharp, just insane... Can't wait for the outcome, you wiLLL Look awsome, just like the 2006 NPC USA!
-
you look incredible man, you're gonna go far in the "sport"
-
I'd just like to know if Alex uses insulin, and if so, what Coach has to say about it LOL
No way he uses insulin, if he did, he would never be that shredded, separated and striated, also if he was using as much gear as you guys think he is, he would never make the lightweight class (154 1/4). Bottomline is he knows his body, he knows what works and what doesn't.
-
That's my new goal for next year !!!!
fucking crazy, especially the abs shot :o :o
-
so what IS UP WITH THE BEANIE???
-
so what IS UP WITH THE BEANIE???
what's up with the 200 pounds of fat you are currently carrying ?
speak on this, woman

read my Medfat actually trains thread. Two workouts today. Nice start.

it's about time

Who knows, maybe he did use insulin, maybe not. I mean, I'm pretty sure Munzer was no stranger to insulin either.

he didn't use it
Alex is a no bullshit type of guy, if he had use insulin I am sure he would say it

Why would he broadcast that out to the world? He didn't want to comment on the drugs, and I understand why he wouldn't.
Coach is under the impression that insulin destroys your physique and cuts overnight. Not so. Doesn't necessarily make everyone a 250lbs+ monster either. I've known 154lbs competitors who have used it fairly extensively.
-
I don't think insulin destroys physiques
I'll try to find a pic of a friend of mine who use insulin and won the welter at the canadians, he was shredded
-
I don't think insulin destroys physiques
There's a difference between doing 60 units a day while letting yourself get fat and doing 8 units post workout 4-5 days a week while maintaining a low bf%. I don't see how doing relatively low dosages would impact your physique much more negatively that slamming a large amount of simple sugars post workout. So there are different degrees of use that have different effects. It won't automatically make you big and bloated with zero cuts.

i agree. there is a fine line though. you really have to know your body so you won't add fat

hey man keep the pics coming as you get closer. i am sure everyone would like to see them

monster "combination"!

Hey thanks Stavios and everyone!
Let me tell you whats up. Getting ready for a show is a big deal. It cost a lot of money, takes alot of time and it is alot of work. I dont want to be the guy standing around waiting for a callout having no fun. So, I work my ass off to make sure I am good and ready. Preparing for a show is like war for me. My wife knows, when I comitt to a show, its on! Isnt that how it should be?
But I dont have any harsh feelings toward the other competitors. Its actually the opposite for me. At my gym, I get along with the bodybuilders and the guys who show up everyday and just get in the way, I dont give them the time of day. I try to be nice but thats about it. At the shows. I can tell who pretty much who did their homework. You can spot the genetic freaks but you can also spot the guys that didnt put enough into it. I do my prep by myself. That can be tough when you have no one to be accountable to, no one to make sure your on track, no one to put you back on track if your not doing things right. But for me, for the last couple years I have been pretty much doing the same thing with adjustments each year to improve. If you are not improving a little bit with each show, you might need to have someone help you get on track. Anyways Im ramblin on so, keep in touch and thanks again guys. Peace!

No, not overnight, it takes time, but it does destroy physiques symmetry wise and long term use also destroys vital organs. This will be one of the things I'll be debating Milos with as soon as I can gather my wits :-\!

Good luck with that :D I already know what Milos will say, that shooting insulin protects the pancreas. Actually, even Disgusted has said the same.
-

There have been studies that do show low doses in elderly people with help with longevity, BUT, insulin use in BBing is a whole different story, especially when it effects almost every organ in the body and hitting every delivery system and coupling that with more anabolics and androgens.
-

i remember that. Very true indeed
-
props to u bro u look like granite, your legs are insane and your condition is best ive seen in a long time even in the pro ranks, congrats your doin somthin right! and PS, what the hell do u feel like w/ 0% bodyfat are u a zombie?
-

I am speculating if use of insulin on non diabetics will have any negative effect on secreting digestive enzymes, do you know any studies if yes please PM to me , I cant find any. I did use insulin for a short time and I remember having digesting problems.
-
sick conditioning, keep posting bro. i will compete in my first competition May of next year.
-
I thought I would share some most recent pics with you guys.
You will do well, just don't do ANYTHING for extra peaking or follow some extreme advice from some guru and ruin it.
OH remember to flex those ripped abs as well. You did your HW and offer some vivid proof that a great physique can be had at under 200 lbs.
-

Thanks bro! much appreciated as I head to the gym to do one of my final two leg workouts before the show. I Feel really good, but at night after my last meal, hungry and feel tired. Mainly hungry and want to go to bed to put me out of my misery.
My energy is good, but just in the last couple days, the gym has been a bit shitty. The place is packed, everyone asking me questions, looking at me and Im not really in the mood to talk. I feel like a dick to say this but, Im sick of seeing the same bums in the gym, day after day after day, looking like crap, wearing tank tops and strutting around. Anyways, i try to remain nice, but its hard. It just really sucks when you get to the end here and you get a bit irritated. My strength is holding up but i still have quite a few more workouts so we shall see. Anyways, keep in touch. I probably will post some five day out pics, just to get the last push to the end. You guys have been great!

the key to life is not always doing for yourself and excelling ABOVE everyone else, maybe its time you change some of that anger into love and help other people improve .No need to be greedy in this short life as human in the life of eternal. You would make much more of a positive impact spreading your 'knowledge' to thousands and benefitting thousands yet you keep it to yourself. its only a matter of time where truley kind and loving souls like myself that dont worry about the prize money or thrifty rewards, but helping people when i have it all figured out, will be much more meaningfull and rewarding than all the dollars in the world. This is something to ponder since you say you are "sick of looking at these people" . do you realize we all came from one source? if you live your life in a greedy fashion when you die you will simply go back to the source and may never live again or live in higher realms because you simply did not contribute much to society, you did it all for you! It would make much more of an impact on your karma if you helped many, because you are just one person dont be selfish or the wrath of god will be mad at you for taking your 'gift' and only exploiting it for yourself

HEY TONY ROBBINS JR...STFU.
think about what i said for a second
nobody should do anything for money or to triumph over others. this is a new day in age and we dont have to do that anymore to be successful in life...if a man wants to do something and be the master of it all he should care about is the TRUTH and to help as many people as possible
a REAL man doesnt do it for glory or money. Think about it say you die and you have to answer to god or your true self, and say "ahh i did it to win competitions although i probably couldve helped many i chose not to" god will say "you are stupid and greedy you had the tools yet you just kept it for yourself and did it for your own PERSONAL gains, one must not forget we all came from one , we are all the same you couldve made a difference but you chose not to" so therefore you are stuck in the 'greed' of the human dimension so therefore you dont need to progress into a higher dimension for you do not show perfect love, you are addicted to the low intelligence rewards of the human life form
-
He can be nice to everybody in 2 weeks. As it stands he has a mission to accomplish and everyone knows gyms are full of jokers just looking to say dumb shit to you when you're suffering to try to get you to blow a gasket. Then they're like, "Wow! What a dick!" ::) Meanwhile in the time it took for you to blow the gasket, you bestowed more bodybuilding knowledge on them than they've ever heard before in their life but then it's all lost on them after they take offense to your telling them you have to leave to eat your last meal finally after question #20. When they don't have anything better to do than talk to chicks on the cardio equipment Look at the conditioning this guy's achieved and you're suggesting he be nice to everyone for universal karma...STFU Daddywaddy, Alex is looking to go where no guy has before and you're telling him to mind the feelings of insignificant gym rats. ::)
There you go, I melted down for you, Alex. ;D
-
The one guy had it right earlier in the thread when he mentioned that Alex is the most conditioned guy he's seen in a long time and I feel it's important that we acknowledge that we may not have seen a guy as ripped as Alex could turn out being since...well, name like the all time top 5 ripped people you've ever witnessed and that's what we'd need to compare him to. Look at his teardrop.

I was going to briefly respond to this but no need. I feel I have enough positive support here to have others do it for me. Thanks McFarland. I do appreciate that because I dont want to get caught up in some internet brawl. Im far from perfect, I have feelings, opinions, etc. I rather just focus on whats positive here. I think ive been pretty darn nice to everyone. Its no problem, the negetive feelings I have just stay in my head. Thats pretty much it. NO time in my life to hate! only time to get better.
-
You look great man, awesome conditioning. It's good to see some pics posted that actually look good. Keep up the hard work.
-
yeah,
and when you consider the amount gear that you're on,
you should have a right to be a dick in the gym.

didn't dadswad freak over not triumphing in the getbig contest?? that seems hypocritical.
Alex, you look truly freaky. i can't wait to see your onstage pics. i can't see anyone in your weight class beating you. near perfect shape and one of the most ripped bodybuilders ever. congratulations in advance, keep doing what you are doing, it's perfect.

You need to be fatter.....being shredded is so 1996.

Wearing your IPOD earphones and closing your eyes while doing sets sometimes helps people to realize you need your space :)
You look fantastic!

i was dissapointed that i didnt win but i dont go around hating 'gym rats' because they have every right to exist like they do. everyone and i mean EVERYONE is capable of any sort of conditioning WITH the right KNOWLEDGE. Some people choose to keep things that could benefit thousands to themselves. A true champion in life doesnt do things to win contests or money he simply does things to know the truth a real scientist with a good soul does not find cures for money he does it for the truth and benefit of all, because once you know the truth you look for other routes in life that you want to know the truth about, some people in life do everything for MONEY MONEY MONEY.
If i had the answers to get to 2% bodyfat i will tell the world at no expense. I havent always had other people in mind and was greedy myself but i feel i progress mentally much faster than some of you, and one day you guys will all learn its better to benefit all then eat the whole pie for ourselves
I dont see anyone exactly poor here either we all have internet access and can afford things, so dont be greedy.

Alex A my friend! look bro think of how much better you will feel about your self if you actually had the tools and knowledge to be ripped (hypothetically without steroids) and you helped numerous people in the gym to acheive there dream body? You would feel better than any kind of money pay out in the world. Try it dude i dont hate you or anyone. Like the bible says "when the knowledge is wide spread the earth will come to an end", lord only knows how much longer we will live this fantastic life redeem yourself while you still can and maybe then these gym rats' will treat you better and be more respectful because of your unselfish goodwill.
all i can do is pray for you

come on man you know what i mean, there's no reason to dog this guys efforts, drugs or not it took a lot of work to achieve that level of conditioning, it's easy to feel intimidated of this guys condition which i feel you are but he looks awesome.

im not hating anyone im pointing out the fact that hes so into his own' personal gains he could give two shits about anyone else, and its obvious from his posts. you guys skip all over the personality and just look at the physique yeah hes ripped and with drugs he looks great even with this acheivement it is still 'tainted' even more so his unwillingness to give back. mark my words squadfather you will see me shredded and i will help you and everyone for nothing.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHREDDE D!
-
Mad props to you Alex, you truly look incredible (no homo) and I wish you the best at your comp!
As for the other part of the conversation, there's a time and a place for shooting the shit or answering questions, right now the most important thing is focus and keeping his eye on the prize. There's nothing wrong with that and ignoring douche bags in the gym right now is what he should be doing, not playing paddy cake with them.

you should have a right to be a dick in the gym.
Dearth, your name says it all, good luck with your training and feel free to approach me to find out what a dick I am.
-
Alex A my friend! look bro think of how much better you will feel about your self if you actually had the tools and knowledge to be ripped (hypothetically without steroids) and you helped numerous people in the gym to acheive there dream body? You would feel better than any kind of money pay out in the world. Try it dude i dont hate you or anyone. Like the bible says "when the knowledge is wide spread the earth will come to an end", lord only knows how much longer we will live this fantastic life redeem yourself while you still can and maybe then these gym rats' will treat you better and be more respectful because of your unselfish goodwill.
all i can do is pray for you
Pray for yourself my friend, my mission in life is not to educate others, its to get ahead. Thanks for looking out for me though, i have plenty on my plate these last weeks, let me save my energy for somthing that matters in my life right now. Helping some people that are hanging around, talking, taking up space is not my job.. Its yours!
-
hahahahaha look at daddywaddy's jealous ass trying to crash this thread and steal Alex's thunder. Pretty pathetic. :-\
The guy looks awesome, AS or not. I don't think he needs to hear some nonsense that's made up by some jealous moron.
-
There`s no chip on his shoulders...he`s two weeks out from the NPC Nationals, not an online pic posting contest.
If you`ve ever dieted, you know that the last thing you need is to be fucked with at two weeks out.
Daddy Waddy, jealous as hell as usual of someone who looks better than you do.
Squads right you sound stupid, but what else is new?

Thanks Camel Jocky and Wes, but the truth about getbig is starting to come out. And then I will soon disapear, so those, like daddywaddy, dont have to see or hear from me, you know me, the dick anymore. He feels since he complimented me, then lectures me, And I dont say what he wants to hear, he can say "im lucky to be alive and that Im a dick" I was giving getbig a chance but soon, I will be gone. It was nice knowing many of you.
I did plan on going deeper into my diet and training and how I used to be a fat slob, got myself in shape and have been holding it for years now, what I really eat, training, the truth. Because, if you think I have talked about everything, I havn't. Because guess what? Anyone can have conditiong like me. The old genetic theory doesnt apply here. Its all hard work.
No one in my family is lean, im short and stocky. Everyone in my family is. I used to never even see a vein on my body. I have wide clavicles and hold weight easily. Gaining weight is really easy for me. I used to walk around the gym near 200lbs and bench 315 for 12 for years. Ask people that have known me for a long time. I can post some pics. But, i was not lean. I always admired the lean guys, the guys who could diet.
I slowly learned about dieting and decided I wanted to be lean, be a bodybuilder and compete. I did, and I have learned what shit works, what diet, what foods, how much cardio, thermogenics. I have steadily improved through all of my shows. I have competed six years straight, doing 2 shows a year. I have learned and would share it with anyone. Believe me, Anyone can do it, anyone with determination and discipline. But I have also learned what stuff doesnt work. And I will tell you one thing, More is not better. Not by a longshot. All this new crap out there. I dont read about it. I actually know very little about drugs. I know about a few key ingredience and how much to make it work but Im not into the latest shit. Why should I be? im not going to change what is working. I hate to say it, but so many guys are making major mistakes, doing way too much of all the wrong stuff. Getting ripped is really easy if you use the right combination. But, like i said, it takes a lot of discipline and hard work.
But guys like this Daddywaddy joke just turn me off. The funny thing is, he hates me and calls me a dick. Maybe this guy is a cool guy, who knows. I dont hate, but i dont take shit either. Why should I? I dont know what his problem is.
Here I am, doing the biggest show an amateur can do, Im serious as hell in the gym, right now, im busier than ever. I dont hang around, I train hard, relatively fast, and go home. I rarely chat, but I have friends in the gym but I pick and choose them. I dont associate with guys talking, just hanging out and killing time or guys b.sing around. Should i? what do i have in common? Im not a personal trainer, I dont have to make friends with everyone. Im married, have a kid, Im not there to socialize or be buddys.
That pretty much sums up alot, but please, lets move forward. Daddywaddy, I would rather not hear from you. Lets move forward and talk bodbuilding. thanks
-
Holy shit, epic thread. Like I said, Daddywaddy...STFU, the grown ups are talking. Your brain's gotta be the size of a fucking pea the way you carry on making such an ass out of yourself.
-

amen.
don't let a few bad apples ruin the experiance for you on getbig. as you probably know message boards usually have a handfull of people who "troll" and try to divert the attention of the thread onto themselves... (for whatever deep rooted psyhchological reason is a whole other topic) but the vast majority of users just silently read the thread hoping to get information/knowledge.

haha "if you see me go ahead and try to start shit with me" im merely giving you some words of wisdom i dont care about fighting one iota. You chose to take offense and "we are the god in our story" so dont blame me and get pissed off you have choices... people in the wrong easily get offended. If you stand up for what you beleive and knowing yourself that everything you do is nobel you would have zero attitude , because you would simply be that confident and assured.
also lets remember if i call you a "dick" dont be offended its only the internet. Ive been called everything and you know what you should learn to find the humor in things or let it go. im not going to call you any more horrible names i can tell you are a touchy one like mcfarland

One thing I'm certain that diet does heighten is your sensitivity to mediocrity. I've seen everyone resent the shit out of slack-asses near a successful showing. And you see it coming out here in Alex...it's odd because it doesn't really bother you until you've been so close to perfecting your routine. Alex is a machine right now, I'm sure of it. I'm sure he wakes up every day at the same time, eats the same shit at the same time every day, just follows a routine to a T. Your body is actually one big visual representation of that when completely dialed in. Think about running over every nook and cranny with a fine toothed comb just over and over again to get all the kinks out. To avoid temptation, drama, minimize unpredictable scenarios, etc, you have to have a very concrete routine that is rarely veered from. One little mess up can send you spiraling off course when you're this close. That's why we need to respect Alex trying to share with us these last final weeks...do you realize right now how good this thread is right now, and how good the next one will be if Alex is able to stay cool through all this juvenile prodding? I swear Daddywaddy you should be ashamed of yourself. Here we have someone with world-class conditioning giving us a glimpse into the mindset necessary to achieve it (and that's really the only SECRET, if there is one), so this, IMO, is one of the most valuable threads on this board to date. Alex, anything else you can give us just ups the stock here. I'm serious, I wanna hear as much as you think you can give us without falling off the edge, but if I thought you were really close to it, I'd tell you now to stop, but I don't think you're gonna budge. You're just that dug in from everything I can tell.
-
for money for glory? and he will be the only recipient ? wow kudos for him when he could do so much more if he had a little bit of character
Has it ever occurred to you that he has the rest of his life to share the knowledge that he is acquiring through this process? Let the guy go for it now, and whip all the poor neglected slack-asses into shape after he's done. ::) Daddywaddy I'm sure you couldn't be told what to do to get into shape anyway, even if he sat right here and wrote it all down for you. You'd just try to argue with him, telling him sea salt and marathon running are the key to shreds. ::)

Alex, Just ignore any and all negative posts. Anyone who has dieted down for a competition knows that the last few weeks are really tough and the shredded conditioning makes one more irritable. It seems anything can set one off. People who have never reached that level of conditioning have no idea what the mental focus is like the last few weeks. You have a very good chance of winning your class and receiving a pro card. Keep focused and skip the stupid posts around here. Stay around and be an inspiration to those who appreciate and understand what you have accomplished.

Alex A, You look great and should do unreal in the contest. My only advice at this time is to "not pass it up". By that I mean that you looked peaked right now, so be "cautious" over the next couple of weeks and follow your "preps" advise on carbing up just prior to the contest.
In my humble opinion, you are looking the way the pros should be looking today - Ripped and cut with the understanding that it will be only temporary so as not to have an adverse affect on your health.
You are the real definition of a "bodybuilder" so show it well at contest time and the best of luck to ya.
I've judged many an event over the past 50 years and trained a good share of the winners so if any positive comments are needed and welcomed, I'll be glad to mention a few.
Keep your head high and the best of luck to ya.

This right here is why McFarland is a pretty damn sharp dude, a smart man. He knows whats going on in my head.
He is reading my mind.
Bro, this is my life. I wake up at 4:00am everyday, including weekends. I do the same thing at the same time. I eat the same thing at the same time. I have so much going on, so much to remember, but Im sharp as hell. My senses are sharper. Im like a swiss watch, I dont forget things. But if I do, all hell breaks loose. Im thrown off course, pissed as hell and have to drop everything to make sure Im back on track, even if it is somehing so minor. I should not care, but I notice every detail. Especially in the gym. People that used to look lean to me, look kinda fat. People look like their just bullshitting around. Where are the real gym rats? isnt anyone in shape around here? Someone who shows up everyday for 2 hours is not a gym rat. He is a lonely person. Anyways, I dont wast time. Im always in a hurry, I do my sets fast. I always have, but now I want to get on to the next exercise, i dont want to half ass it, but I want to get it done, now, I want to eat, i have to go tanning, I need to go by the store and get more food. So much is going on, Its great, but I dont like distractions. I should not give a crap about a daddywaddy or a "its all drugs" Dearth. But for some fuckin reason I do. I think, Im a nice guy, im doing all the right things. Oh well, McFarland and others here always steer me back on course
Guys like Wes, guys like coach, so many others. See at the gym, I gravitate to bodybulders, mainly those that compete. I dont have much in common with the non hackers. So, here on GETBIG, which is supposed to be a bodybuilders forum, I gravitate to the real guys that have competed and appreciate those that do.
The Dearths of this world have no clue. "its all drugs buddy" you know why he thinks that? Because either he, or his buddy is downing bottles of winny, poping the halos, jammin the insulin, mega doses and all they look like is.... watery, bloated, fat, chubby guys that no one pays attention to. They are like, " I do all this crap and I look like nothing" so if this guy Alex , Is hard and grainy, hes doing twice the crap of me.. "That bastard!" they fuckin hate me, Im the enemy. I make them look stupid. It must be all drugs. Drugs make you grainy, drugs give you shredded glutes and hams, drugs dial you in, drugs drugs drugs.
Check this shit out. I was in the locker room, no one was in there, I was done, changing my shirt, there is a great mirror and light in there so I was hitting some poses. Some guy walks in, throws his bag and shit on the counter, loudly, looks at me. I look at him...He has one of those skullets, you know, bald in the middle and long on the side. His clavicals are 1 inch wide, and is about 5'10' and weighs about 160. Mostly fat. he says to me."WHAT KINDA PROTEIN ARE YOU TAKING?" "I CANT GET ANYWERE WITH THIS GYM". What should I take, he says? Im thinking, "so fucking what, twerp" ive got shit to do. Im not your trainer. Ive got a national show breathing down my throat etc. I still take the time and say" oh just the stuff fom cosco" which is true by the way.
But the way he said it, was like he was mad at me, because he looked like crap. He hated how I look. Lots of weird shit going on, i might be way to sensetive to it, but Like McFarland said, you are much less sensetive to mediocracy when your in shape like this.
Sorry to sound like a bragging bastard but this shit is true, I admit. I try to be a nice guy, i can only take so much, but I hat to say it. Win or lose, Im hardcore..
-
and in the end after bbing or his quest for national titles, people mentioned he should use his gifts to educate daddy w quote,he will his daughter who is his most prized trophy.....
-
Mac, thanks for asking! Without going into argumentative detail, I see hard work and dedication for something a man has a desire to achieve.
I see the same in fat, unhealthy fathers who do their utmost to lose 30 pounds of bodyweight so that the tux he will be wearing at his daughter's first wedding looks halfway decent.
I see overweight high school graduates doing there best to be in tip top condition to pass their hometown's police physical examination.
I see a strong desire to achieve what most of us feel is impossible to accomplish.
I see weary Boot Camp Marines and their feelings of pride on graduation day.
I see greatness where many others see otherwise.
And I know for a certain truth that one of the hardest things to accomplish - is to get one's body into the shape that Alex finds himself at present.
I appreciate each of the above and so much more but since Alex is the topic of this conversation, I appreciate him for his accomplishment to go where few of us have ever gone before - almost into the whelm of impossibility.
-
At work today bro my assistant got pissed at me because I wouldn't eat one of a bunch of tamali's she bought at the train station. I'm pretty sure the fact that she's gained 15 pounds in the last 3 months has something to do with it, too. And the better you fucking look, the more PISSED people are when you eat chicken and rice in front of them. I mean, PISSED. They show you so by all the fucking assinign questions they ask. EVERY TIME they see you eating it. And they'll stick and snarl their nose in the air and be like, WHAT'S THAT SMELL? acting like chicken, rice and barbecue stinks like shit or worse. The list goes on...
I know for a FACT that putting up with other people's insolence and hate is WAY harder than enduring the diet or cardio.
-

Again...well said. The testosterone, Gh, antibiotics (to unsuccesfully clear his bacne) and T3 are getting to his head. I've seen this mamaluke at Golds...his legs are WAY under developed compared to his upper body...ask him to post a side chest pose.
-
Dearth, your name says it all, good luck with your training and feel free to approach me to find out what a dick I am.
Are you a descendant of Napoleon? Be careful Dearth...he might punch you in the knees.

why don't you pose one, Im sure your awesome. And be sure to bow down to me to say hi. If you have seen me, then be sure to say hi the next time. Lets see what the raging bull can do. Oh I have seen you, six foot 3, 145, punching the air and showing off his less than Jake LaMotta boxing skills. He cant lift for shit, but goes around the gym punching a "pretend" sparring partner. Post up big boy! lets see what you got, include a side chest shot too. Hit the road lame fuck!
-
why don't you pose one, Im sure your awesome. And be sure bow down to me to say hi. If you have seen me, then be sure to say hi the next time. I love the internet bad asses all talk and no action. Lets see what the raging bull can do.
nada.....either way your still a mr.usa tiltiest.he is the raging bull.
-
don't let the idiots who will never get close to a stage get to you Alex. they should be kicked off this board. i'm not even dieting and they are pissing me off, and they're not even talking about me. don't even respond to them, they'll just twist what you say to feel less pathetic about themselves. i wonder how many sites they were kicked off of before they ended up here.
-
Yeah your right, sorry Raging Bull. But as soon as you become an NPC Judge I will starting taking your advise. But thanks for looking out for me bro.
-
nada.....either way your still a mr.usa tiltiest.he is the raging bull.
Yeah thanks bud and you too hazbin, I just dont know why someone would rather take Bullshit pot shots at someone then have somthing good to say. I probably insulted him when I was talking about the harcore diet etc. You know, when nothings really going on in your life, you get mad and just say stupid, bullshit stuff, whether anyone gives a shit or not.
-
Your conditioning and physique is amazing, I gave you props right at the start of this thread. The shame is you are now digging yourself a hole and making yourself look really bad, Ive seen you tell 3-4 people to come to your face, cant tolerate "normal" people, a guy sees you and your physique impresses the hell out of him, he asks you for advice about protein and all you can think of is how small his clavicles are?Not everyone wants to be ripped to shreds, or at least they want to but not enough to sacrifice other parts of their life.I'm willing to bet a good 3rd of the guys you look down on earn more money than you, have a hotter wife etc, so how then can you look down on them? There are more facets to life than Bodybuilding, however much you, I or anyone else enjoys it.Your essentially now thinking you are better than everyone else, you need to be humble otherwise whats the point.
-

5'4"...shorter than Napoleon...149 lbs plus a pound of bacne...plus a giant dome of a head...

even though your body is currently riddled with illegal drugs,
I will hand it to you - you do look good
Dude, have you ever got read for a show in your life.....dudes 2 weeks out from the Nationals, he's earned the right to not be approached at this time, let the guy focus and quit giving him crap!!

5'4"...shorter than Napoleon...149 lbs plus a pound of bacne...plus a giant dome of a head...
The guy looks superb, get off his jock.

Man this thread has taken a weird turn :o.
Alex A The Waddy is actually a pretty cool guy, hes just a bit nuts like most of us here.
The thing is a couple of your posts came across as a little conseeded and thats why people jumped on ya. I know you where just saying the truth and I totally agree with you, if you are at a stage where you need 110% focus, you don't have time to chat about the weather with every guy in the gym. It's just its the internet mate so it's all in the way it comes across to others ;).
Ya look great Alex A, but you can't let this stuff get to you mate.

haha "if you see me go ahead and try to start shit with me" im merely giving you some words of wisdom i dont care about fighting one iota.
Ive been called everything and you know what you should learn to find the humor in things or let it go. im not going to call you any more horrible names i can tell you are a touchy one like mcfarland
waddy since you are a natural bodybuilder..you need to appriciate advice from thjis fella,,he doesnt use much and its very easy to tell,, not hormone freak like me and jason and dorian and gaspari and mishko,,listen to what he has to say might teach you some things since you want to do it mainly natural way,,,sometime its time to listen that dude is pretty low dosed for his level of colmpetition
-
man...alex is 5'4...waddy is 6'6
if they ever meet in real life.... ;)

sorry everyone, lets stick to bodybuilding. Not brawling.
Sorry I came accross that way. But I was telling you what I was thinking, not doing. I try to be as nice as posibble. Shit, I give out free advise all the time, help people out free, and am always there at the shows to support people who compete.
See, I dont like people starting shit, calling me names and hiding behind the computer. Its like the kid in the playground that hits you then hides behind the teacher. Some guys are funny how they call you names, point out every detail of your physique. Just hate the shit out of you. But its ok, cant make everyone happy. Lets just all be nice and end it.
Since some guys here have nothing positive to say, Lets not hear from you and I wont talk about you anymore either. Deal?

Well put it this way, what you do in the off season defenitely affects how you look now. Off season, im kinda small, flat, in really good condition. Im not big, full or super strong. I feel great, lots energy etc. I stay pretty clean and do my cardio and eat right. My wife got pregnant very easy. I remember the day. That would not probably be the case otherwise. I am not a big dude at all. Laugh at me, whatever.. Im 160lbs. I dont give a crap. I make the best of what I got. I havnt gained but about 12 good lbs since i started competing. Not trying to move up the weight classes or make a career here. Im like most of you guys, just having fun.
To me, if I committ to competing, I put all my efforts into it. I wont say im doing a show unless I follow through all th eway. But I just like off season training, staying in shape, I like to work out. For some people it is a chore. Well, let me take that back. There are times, many times I wonder what the hell im doing here? Dont you guys? THis shit can be torture, and you seem to get no where. How about me? I compete, i eat clean, etc. I train hard, etc. and Im just a 160lber. So, please dont get me wrong
I never, never walk around the gym with my lats flared out. I have worn a tank top less than ten times in a year and that is only recently. Only in the best possible shape. I dont drop the weights, yell, hog the machines, talk, bully people around. Im probably the nicest guy in the gym. I shared with you some thoughts I had. Some people can relate, others think Im a prick! but man, I think Ive been pretty nice here. I get people calling me names, behind their computers, picking me appart etc. And then whe I react. Im a dick. Let me tell you, its all about bodybuilding here. Lets stay on task.
I never ever hold a grudge. Im sure DADDYWADDy is a great guy. I fuckin bet it, Ragging bull too. Some of my best friends I have fought with in the past. But i forgive and forget. Im not stuborn and stupid. I appologive to you guys ok. I want to be a good guy to everyone and want to be approachable and not have people hating me and me hating them etc. Sound like a deal..

Hey Alex congratulations from me too, youre a great guy. Keep doing the sport we love...

Wishing you success.

there's an alexxx in canada that would crush this alex.

Look how Alex handles himself here. He's sincere and humble. Reminds me alot of jrod, the OTHER guy on the site who can dial it in 100%. And seriously, are there more than 2 people that actively post here that we've seen super-shredded like this? That's how rare the phenomenon is. I believe there to be a definite correlation between decency in character and conditioning. The guys that have a chip on their shoulder just don't get into 100% shape like this. I'm sure Alex is indulging here...it's not quite the real world, and I've invited him to give us a glimpse into his mindset, so telling us what he thought about the guy in the locker room, or telling Raging Bull to meet him somewhere is an artificial outlet...it "doesn't count" entirely. The same way that an internet troll would never go up to Alex in real life and so blatantly challenge him. I'm sure you'd NEVER catch Alex behaving this way in real life, but this is a very valuable, honest glimpse into the psychology of a great bodybuilding competitor.
Now as for the way Alex perceives people...you can tell there is a definite bend on his perspective in all this...the story about the guy in the locker room asking him about the protein really sticks out for me. There's no way in hell that guy came at Alex looking the way he does with that much intended malice...but that's the way Alex took him. I wonder if it's a subconscious mechanism for your mind to make "the enemy" out of everything not pushing to the extreme, so as to fuel your competitive pursuit. There must surely be an advantage to adopting a "wartime" mindset during a 100% full-blown prep like this. It's like the point made in Fight Club...we have an evolutionarily-developed instinct to fight for survival and bodybuilding competition is just one more way that some people take on to artificially fill that void. Some people are just wired to overcome hardship and adversity and when there is none, or relatively very little, we do what we must to maintain our sanity.
I'm also pretty sure that being in the depleted state Alex is in heightens your sense of when people are fucking with you. All the little subconscious subtleties that show their resentment of your reaching for more than what is in their comfort zone. Ha ha..."what kind of protein powder do you use?" Like that was a valid question. You don't look at Alex and wonder if it's Weider or Met-Rx that might be doing it for him. So right off the bat that guy's jerking his chain to a certain extent. And when you have to answer poorly focused questions when there is no excess energy to respond in a way that addresses their specific inquiry, but still give them an answer that they are gonna be satisfied with, it's easy to resent them for being so whimsical. Who does that guy think he is to expect Alex to have the time to fiddle with his bullshit, looking like that? As if that guys has EVER seen a guy as conditioned as Alex before in his life. Knowing full well why he isn't in shape...he's probably rarely hungry for more than 30 minutes at a time, and he probably skips most of the exercises for most of the reps that he knows would yield true results. He's just being lazy as fuck in his pursuit, and he's projecting his resentment of his own lack of discipline by subjecting Alex to his ridiculous inquiries. If you've ever spent much time in the upper echelon of human development you know all too well how these things work. Being great is a bitch...not so much for what it takes physically to get there, but when dealing with people. Remember how focused Nasser was in his interview on his disdain for people in general, after looking the way he has for so long. People stop treating you as human after a certain point. Nasser's best friend is his friggin' dog, which he was willing to pay $70,000 dollars for to get in the divorce. This is why. Sato is Nasser's best friend. Looking the way Nasser does, people don't assume you need a thing from them, and assume it's your job to help them...the problem is, you never stop being human...you still have feelings, you still have needs, you still want to have people to talk to that just keep it real. At least for Alex still at this point, he can turn it off at a certain point. He can cover up and stop the comments. For Nasser, there was no place to hide, whether clothed or posing in the gym, so you get a very bitter person when it's all said and done...jaded and alienated from the rest of the world. Adopting the ability to get along with people looking like a pro must be an art in and of itself, and I'm sure it has alot to do with why you rarely find these people in workplace scenarios where they have to deal with "normal" people. It's all just too draining to make it worth it. People seriously don't know how to act around someone looking like an incredibly gifted IFBB pro. I have enough of my own problems operating in a professional environment at my own level of physical development and I'm not even what I'd consider huge OR shredded yet. You really have to adopt a very non-resistant personality, and while you are at work, you ARE DEFINITELY being "paid to fake it." Howie wants to know why an IFBB pro doesn't work. Well this is why. Being in excellent shape can make you feel like the whole world is against you. These points have rarely been addressed on these boards and this is great that we are finally getting around to doing so.

What we should be providing Alex with here is as much support as we are capable of generating, because he is truly representing us all in his pursuit...he is going for it. He is doing what we all wish we were right now. That is what bodybuilding is all about right there...Alex is in the zone and if you have a lick of real bodybuilder in you all you wanna see is that maintained to see how far he can make it here. Notice that every hardcore competitor with a true appreciation for the sport has already replied and given support in this thread...that's the way it works. All the guys who have ever gone through this. We recognize someone who is riding the wave into the unknown...Alex's progress here is progress for us all. There's alot to be learned here. Threads like this are pure gold. I'm here to ultimately figure out how to get to where Alex is at and I will fight with all I have to see that he stays on target. I'm all over this one, believe me. 8)

i agree.

i agree.
Squad I appreciate that. I know you know a real bodybuilder when you see one and Alex is off the charts right now.
-
Now don't get me wrong...even some of the prodding Alex has received, I somewhat see him as having been asking of that. So everyone that's responded here has given Alex a little of what he needs. I think he needs guys like Raging Bull to a certain extent. I can tell, that gets him going. So whatever it takes, man. If he's responding to them, he needs it. Just be mindful of this, Alex. From where I'm standing, Raging Bull is entirely fucking with you. If you feel like that's getting in the way, as opposed to helping you get 2 more reps in your leg workout at this point, just put it aside...you don't have a thing to worry about if you leave those comments unaddressed.

First of all Alex looks awesome, congrats man ,but ,C'mon ,Mc Farland ,he is just doing a bodybuilding show ,he isn't climbing mount Everest or discovering the cure for cancer ,he is doing something he likes to do and doing it for himself, his progress is not my progress, he looks great and that's it :)
-
alex a is a bit of an idiot for coming onto getbig, posting his pictures and not exepecting anyone to even
mention his drug use.. 2 weeks out is not the time to be trying to win fans on a message board

I'd venture to guess that he does less than a gram a week, keeps his growth under 4iu's, and might use clen and anti-estrogens somewhere in the last month before competition. So having that been said, can we move on?
And his self-promotion here is extremely wise, IMO. It is very easy to go to Nationals and not even get a call out. That is common fear amongst even the most stage-ready guys going to Nationals. After this thread, he will very likely be in the first callout in his class. You've simply gotta make sure they know you're coming, and at this point, everyone will be watching for him. 2 weeks out, if you're truly ready, is the BEST time to be "making friends" on a message board, IMO.
And let's face it...making friends on this message board is making yourself known in the industry. This message board IS the industry. You can call yourself a member of any other board, but you always read Getbig in addition to the place you might call home. I see alot of people posting in other places just to feel like they belong somewhere. IMO the other boards simply exist as safe-haven in that way for them. Everything noteworthy goes down here. Which is why you have a thread like this one playing out here. The best shit is what we get. And be assured that if anything else on any other board is worth reading, it will be brought here in it's rawest, juciest form at some point, and the "Getbig version" of the thread is gonna be FAR better than the other board's "version" of the thread, anyway. If I'm reading another board, it's more in the name of "keeping in touch" with a few personalities from the past that don't show themselves on here, but that's really it. The bottom line is that if you're reading Getbig, you're probably not gonna miss anything, and if you don't, you probably just have your head stuck in the sand in more ways than just one. You live in a bubble. It's getting to where the name "Getbig" isn't even mentioned on other forums. It's like the dark secret that no one wants to bring up...it challenges things.
Props to Alex for doing some major damage in the thunderdome. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. If you think you've got it going on, come to Getbig and you'll find out what's up. The verdict is in, and Alex very obviously has it going on.

self promotion?
guys posts his pictures, essentially opening himself up to scrutiny, but he apparently
cant take critisism very well.
as far as the drugs, in case you have picked up on this, this isn't flex magazine
where we pretend that "its all cardio, diet and hard work"...
do you seriously think the npc nationals judges give a shit about this thread, getbig or 'alex a' ?
don;t take this shit too seriously man

More drugs than a Miami club circa 1984 and a dickhead.

Alex A. Have you always been real lean? Childhood and so on.
-
i think its awful to juice that much when u obviously dont have the genetics.
You should have pick up another hobby cause the only thing ull get in return of the heavy juicing is a shorter lifespan.
Alex A, you re not going to beat anyone anywhere in terms of bbing, this is a pure waste.
-

Where's your proof that he's taking "that much" juice?
The ignorant keep getting more ignorant!

I don't even like the modern era "bodybuilding" physique, but you look great Alex. Good luck.

Thanks for the advise
I will just send back my first place 2006 USA trophy and tell Jon Lindsay, the shows promoter, that I didn't deserve it, give it to next place guy who had 6 seconds and 5 thirds. And that he really deserved it.
The show was fixed and my straight first places from the Judges were not really earned. I think I will take up bowling instead.

lololol...oh brother.....you lost all credibility of having any knowledge of anything relating to bodybuilding when you posted pics of yourself holding 20+ lbs of fat and stating "I spilled over." lolololol...yeah, you spilled over alright.....Alex A has forgotten more about nutrition and training than you'll ever know....try to remember that when you look at him and think "all drugs"

tell that to 15-20 batams,25 or so lightweights, welters.middles, all avg 25 or more per class in these shows.these guys are getting the most out of their genetics and seing there passion through, not all lighter classes are an example of dex jackson who started as batam and now can claim to be top 3 of the olympia each year.local and state level have dozens of bbers pursuing there dream .its the same in any sport or endevor not everyone who shoots a basketball is going to jordan,or golf like woods, there more avg and above avg in any sport than exceptional.alex here as stated is at the top of the food chain as a lightweight nat bber,he can on from here with a bit more size and if same conditioned can rack up next 2 weight class tiltles, even marvin ward a great bber stayed amateur after pro status was easier to be great amateur ,than a forgotton pro..

Can you keep competing in the NPC as an IFBB pro?
-
Can you keep competing in the NPC as an IFBB pro?
Ouch! :o
But actually a good point! Do you still compete if you earn your pro card???
-
Can you keep competing in the NPC as an IFBB pro?
Well, if you don't petition for the pro card. As I understand it you're not automatically a pro even if you win one of the classes that makes you eligible.
-
Can you keep competing in the NPC as an IFBB pro?
yes jose raymond turned pro i think twice in t.u. and won usa's again as middle this year.was lightweight and welter previous.i don't remember if u have to win overall in team universe to turn pro,i don't know if raymond won overall.and usa's he didn't get other pro card.ward pretty sure competed as amateur after national win.
-
Wow, what a statement that makes. Anybody else feel me on this? Couldn't you liken not petitioning for your IFBB pro card after winning your weight class at Nationals to Muhammed Ali throwing his Olympic gold medal into the river?
Ali states (in his 1975 autobiography) that he threw his Olympic gold medal into the Ohio River after being refused service at a 'whites-only' restaurant, and fighting with a white gang. Whether this is true is still debated, although he was given a replacement medal during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, where he lit the torch to start the games.
Except in this case Alex's symbolic act of defiance could be in protest of the use of insulin in bodybuilding as opposed to racial oppression? Coach tells me it's kinda the same thing if you lend enough thought to it. :D

where does a batam go ,tough call stand next to cutler like farnsworth does quest posing ,derek has good build but cutler is top dog.on normal street or gym setting farnsworth's all the talk in the smaller fishbowl.bbing is a very jaded lifestyle to be in,on that level at least.

Nice view count...3500 ain't bad for the age of this thread, we're probably as strong today as we've been; if I get Alex to agree to a group shoot with Coach next weekend I can guarantee 6000+ views in 10 days...I'll make absolute sure of it. Think about it Alex. Coach is already coming down and he'll be 2 weeks out; you'll be one, it'll be sick...

At last year's Ironman he was contest ready just to go sit in the audience to watch the show. Peaked for it and everything. True story. Just hardcore for no reason at all; just sick man. He ain't gonna stop...I'm wondering if Ronnie's gonna have a problem now. Prepping for them was life or death and not prepping by now probably equates straight with just not living; lacking life.
Same thing with Nasser...he's just revealed that he's still sittin' at home "phantom prepping" as well. Spooky stuff.

he's an enigma ,really could have at his true peak turned the bbing world upside down in 80/90;s seemed bored with total competitive nature given to compete year end and out and play the game so to speak?

enigma--mystery: something that baffles understanding and cannot be explained; "how it got out is a mystery"; "it remains one of nature's secrets"
riddle: a difficult problem
Gary lives like an enigma. You will never know the day Gary leaves town. You will never know the day he is to come back...you won't know the day he came back. That's how he moves...like a predator...he enters a room and he leaves a room but you never see him coming or going. I don't know when he fucking sleeps, either. I honestly can't figure it out.
All the IFBB Pros I've ever known are honest to God beasts like this in one way or another.

probably has something to due with the "extras"he takes to stay virile and in shape.he living example of long term use and healthy,or so it seems at least.probably training when u think he's sleeping.

Yeah man especially the vastus medialis, the kind of shit you wouldn't believe without seeing it.

I'm trippin' on how sharp the quad is.
.
WTF that's insane! When was the last time you saw a pro in that shape? Or anyone for that matter? This basically says bodybuilding is at it's zenith at the national level, and goes downhill in the ifbb.
-
Great thread......I like how some people think Alex doesn`t have the genetics for bodybuilding because he isn`t weighing in at 270 at 3% bodyfat!! LOL :)
That person should go back down in moms basement and do some more curls with his vinyl covered weight set! :)
-
BTW,Jose` Raymond won his pro-card a few times but opted to turn down accepting it and continue to compete as an amatuer...........probab ly thought it better to not get lost in the shuffle of a pro lineup due to his lighter bodyweight.
-
Thanks guys, I will get back on here soon, I have some cardio to do and then eat. But thanks for all of that! Getting super lean is what its all about, I just way rather be a bit smaller and ripped to the bone. I will go into what I want to do down the road in a bit because theres alot to talk about when it comes to competing as a pro or staying an amateur. But I will hint at the direction Im heading.....Well, I rather be a damn good amateur than a nobody pro.
I have to be carefull not to step on any toes here but its true, why compete at the pro level, if your not really competing at all?
-
it must feel good knowing in your mind you are one of a handfull of people on earth walking around like that right now. congrats
p.s., but watch out for layne norton bro-- hes a "natural pro"
-

and hamadullah atayk sp????turkey nat champ lght heavy more times than can count, competed at n.o.c here few times, with same look as alex here and returned later to continue as amateur in his country.was way overlooked here, too small in pro standards.

what year was that? 97ish, that's when BB really started to take a turn for the worst...size, size, size was all that mattered. I'd rather see a quality physique than a bloated mess like we have dominating things now.
-
Awesome pics bro. You are shredded beyond anything I have seen in a very long time. I wish you the best of luck at nationals, going with that conditioning you deserve to win!!!

hamadullah the turkish guy had some crazy glutes ever , check them out next to mine.

Bump for 4000 views, yup. ;)

I think it's pretty safe to assume that you win "Thread of the Week," Alex. Congrats. :D

Looking fantastic there Alex A............ what is your offseason weight and how far out do you start your contest prep? Those glutes are wow....... havent seen anything that hard in that area! Obviously its genetics too but how do you get those glutes so striated?????
Best of Luck!

Thanks you guys, kept my off season weight around the same as I am now, come contest time, I will be about 6lbs loss from off season.
Anyways, I believe it was the birth of my daughter that has made me a better bodybuilder and a better person all the way around.
I have to live up to being her hero, her role model and the number one man in her life.
Time away from your kids, especially when they are little is valuable it should not be wasted.
I figure, I am not going wast my time here. Im here to make a statement to all the smaller bodybuilder whom there are plenty of.
I want to make a statement to the regular family guy who does not have a sponser, trainer, guru, or a team of people helping him.
Just alot of determination and discipline. Its all about what you put into it.
I truly believe that 99% of the time, around there, the guy who worked the hardest wins. Thats just my opinion.
Peace guys, Alex A
-
"I truly believe that 99% of the time, around there, the guy who worked the hardest wins."
AlexA. I've often used that when judging numerous contests when I have difficulty judging two or more bodybuilders who look somewhat similar in the lineup.
That is especially true when judging the ladies.
Once again, the best of luck to you, Alex.
-
Role models dont use steroids..

Thanks! It just seems that the competitors that work the hardest are easy to spot, and the guy or girl that wins is rarely the person who just relys on genetics to carry them.
Thanks again and take care Alex A
-
Role models dont use steroids..
of course alex a is a role model.
for drug use that is.
i'm sure his sick conditioning will inspire many young,
impressionable getbiggers to hit the sauce.
-
Alex how are you feeling at this level?
you look dangerously low bodyfat, ripped beyond belief like Munzer looked. I mean you are ridiculously shredded!
-
Im feeling pretty good bro, my strength is good, Im eating good, but tired at night and hungry. Always near the end here things get really busy too. My conditioning has tightened up a bit more since those pics were shot. Im still hitting the cardio hard and havnt lost any intensity. Nothing is won yet so i have to keep plugging away. Take care,
alex
-
Stay stong, only a short time left! YOUR best trophy will be at home waiting for you when the smoke clears, your beautiful wife & little girl...
Strong Mind and Body!
-
good luck Alex you look awesome.
-
alex,
if you don't mind answering. how much cardio are you doing at this point (per day) and what type (stepper, bike, treadmill??)
thanks man.
if bodybuilding was about freaky conditioning rather than all out size you would be king in this sport.
-
Beautiful Little girl Alex, you must be very proud 8).
Damn man those glute shots are freaky, and your chest has such deep cuts. Just awsum mate :o.
-
Thanks you guys for helping me stay on track down the stretch here.
My skin is getting pretty thin and im not feeling great at night. Hungry and miserable watching all the food commercials and staring at the food in the fridge.
The worst part about eating is when im done, knowing I dont get fed again for a while, plus I have a weight class to make so I cant mess around.
At night its worse because I wont eat again till the morning .
Im doing 45 minutes of cardio and alternate between the bike, treadmill and stepper. Im always switching it up to keep my body guessing. I usually do it in the am, but sometimes right after a workout since my heart rate is up. Thats pretty much it. I do 30 minutes in the off season, so things arent that much different now. But its all fun, fun, fun!(and I mean it) suffering is good. Can you ever get ahead in life without it? Will you ever be a winner without suffering? Discipline is key here, not just me, but hang in there all competitors!
-
Man that pic of the side tri pose you posted is awesome. Your face looks striated haha.
-
Alex.....Looking fuggin sick bro. Sick ass conditioning. Your pics are deceiving, you look bigger than that. Good Luck at the Nationals. Hopefully you will get your pro card at this event.

lol... i know there is masochist deep down in every bodybuilder.

Thanks bros!
my face is getting so tight I cut myself each time I shave, its crazy. Seriously though, these are the best time of the prep when the leanest people you know look fat.

Best of luck with the competition! :)

Alex,
First of all, much respect for darn near killing yourself to achieve your goals...I hope it's worth it, and I mean that in the best way. My question to you is, at your stature and size, how much difference do you think a pro card will mean for you financially?
And, congratulations on your pro card in advance. There will be absolutely no competition based on what we're seeing here, and please don't cut your water -- you don't need to.
BTW, this thread is living proof that if a solid bodybuilder with his ego in check posts his photos, Getbiggers will give out the proper respect.
-

Two years ago, Alex wouldn't have lasted past page two of this thread ;)
BTW, you look great Alex good luck! ;D

I love this post! Thanks, I figure why not just do whats working. Water seems to be a good thing to me, so I plan to scale back just a bit. The day of the show Im sure I will have a nice cup of coffee in the morning and still drink away for a while. And thanks about the ego comment. Im no one super special here, Im not a big name, Im not a massive dude, just a regular guy like most of you. And when the show is all over with, I plan on being the same dude. Hope thats a good thing, Peace Alex A
-
Alex, what is your carbing up plan just prior to the contest?
-
Just came across this thread, unreal conditioning!
I noticed you said earlier on that u dont change anything and keep training right upto the show, is that including cardio too? I also seen u dont carb up at all either
the guy who owns the gym i go to, Ian Morgan ( british ifbb pro)uses this method and he shows up in similar condition,, he lives like a monk all year too, same food all yr, same training, little extra cardio pre show,,, seems the way to go for conditioning, im guessing u spread your carbs thru the day normaly and do go for the faddy pro fat and pro carb meal rubbish thats spouted lately too.
do you think that this way of going about things is better suited to somone whos at there peak size or somone who thinks there as big as there goin to get?
-
Thanks guys, I dont deplete so I dont load. I just try to keep full all the way through and not have to change my diet at all. My cardio is done all the way to the show. I am going to have to go to a gym there so I can do some cardio or at the hotel..I just dont really want to change whats working. alex a

Luck is something everyone needs, but I know what you mean, you can create your own luck. If you are well prepared then you dont have to rely on luck as much. The judges do a damn good job 99% of the time, its a tough job. I figure by standing out as much as possible, I can make their job easier.

luck is a horse to ride like any other.

Dear Shmoe, since I'll be on stage half of the day, that might be a little hard to do, and since I've never met him face to face I just figured it might be a little easier, If I were at the Nationals I would intro myself. Don't be a dick....dick!! BTW, still trying to figure out how you got your "expert" stars, I guess if you chase around pro's every weekend that must qualify you??
Besides, since when does being a pro qualify you as a "somebody".....remember, this is bodybuilding, not an actual legit athletic event, there's a difference between fact and fiction!

I hope you guys are just kidding? anyways, i found this pic taken with the others which was a week ago.

Grainy is what its all about! its crunch time and cant wait. I dont plan on using anything, crap, im thinking of drinking all the way up to the show, I looked at my pics from on stage last year and these pics and i think Im better at two and half weeks out then when I was on stage at the USA. THnaks for looking out for me bro!

WOW, very impressive Alex. Sick conditioning
-
damn. Now THAT'S shredded......I can't even imagine hitting that type of conditioning and carrying it for a few weeks, that's just nuts.
-
Please explain........???
its just my opinion
he is very conditioned but is too small, lacks thickness and muscle size/shape, looks good alone but will be dwarfed by the lineup on stage. being 5'4 doesnt help too - small short bones makes him look even smaller
-

He`s not a super-heavy!!
I`ll guarantee you that he wins a pro-card.......nobody in his class will even be close trust me.

isn't he a lightweight? I think he won his class at the national level in the past....maybe I'm wrong and I'm to lazy to look back but c'mon.....you don't see this type of conditioing everyday, plus he has decent size for a LW...I be he wins his class.
-

Thanks guys for explaining this but bro, Im a damn lightweight! thats it, i dont have the size? I dont want to start some bragging session but I have proven more than a few times I can win! i did win my class at the USA. No need to take this any further. I really dont think you know whats going on here. Im not taking on the Supers, Heavies or the rest, Im competing against guys my own weight! Maybe you dont know that.
-

??? ??? ???. So being 5'4 doesn't help in the LIGHT WEIGHT class ???. He might be the tallest guy in the class. Once/if he wins his card and move on I could agree with you but in the LW class at nationals ???
-
CHRIS failido won lghtweight class in usa's 10or so yrs ago they are around same height, chris is freaky conditioned, this guy is thicker type muscled and grainy at that weight.
-
??? ??? ???. So being 5'4 doesn't help in the LIGHT WEIGHT class ???. He might be the tallest guy in the class. Once/if he wins his card and move on I could agree with you but in the LW class at nationals ???
I won't be the tallest, I wont be the shortest, Im around average height for a lightweight. Eryk Bui is 5'5" and won this class pretty easily it 2002. The past several years have been won by guys my height.
When you are super lean, hard and grainy then your actually carrying more quality weight. I agree about somthing, if some really short guy comes along, with good enough structure, complete and hard as nails, then its a battle.
Im not unbeatable, never said I was. But I will tell you that I have worked at this, had a plan, kept my diet clean, trained hard and have prepared the best I could for the past 16 months, since the 06 USA for this and it should be a battle. It wont come easy. but I plan to mix it up as best as I can. Im really excited about it and my chances. Thanks for your opinions.
Because you are entitled to your opinion and I should leave it at that. Take care Alex A

were is your skin gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alex, dont even bothering to explain yourself to these wannabes.
half of them dont even train, and the other half who do train, dont look like they do anyway.
the only write about what they have read in the past, and figure as such they know everything, when in fact the closest any of them have come to a stage is to lay on one with a 5$ bill in their mouth while derek anthony gives them a car wash.
keep doing your thing.
you're THERE.
stay focused and bring it home.

No.

I couldn't even imagine walking around in that type of Conditioning ... AMAZING ! You look great, Alex ! How you function at that low level of Bodyfat is beyond me ! Again, good luck next Weekend. :)
-
Save your nutbag before it's too late. No trophy is worth testical functionality. ;)
-
But i think that 160pds, 5'4 is not going to win pro shows or pay the bills. Even if you up the dosage, put in more time in the gym and blow up its still going to be tough because of height and SIZE. At 5'4, it would probably be at most ~180pds on stage if u add some size.
Lee priest is around 200pds on stage if i rmb correctly, and he is 5'5 and he puts on muscle effortlessly, just look at his 15 years old pic! There are very few freaks like him
When did Alex ever claim that would be 'winning pro shows or paying the bills'?! ::)
And now you're comparing him to lee priest...wow :o Calm down bro, you're pouring too much of you're life into this thread ::)
-
Alex don't listen to the haters!! Just keep doing what your doing and your physique will do the talking!!!
-
Some guys dont know about the different weight classes in the show and some guys are just trying to give me their best advice. Its cool. I dont mind at all. About the bodyfat thing, well, I feel a little colder than usual. My workouts are pretty darn good. Im using the same weight as when I started my diet. It probably isnt great for me to stay this lean too long, but I have another week. I think its safer to do it this way then to take some diuretic to dry out. 6 more days to go!
-
Keep doing what you're doing, brother.....it's your class for the taking.
-
Alex A,
approximately how much have you spent on steroids to prepare for this show?

-
Alex A,

its apparent that you are very jealous of alex for some reason because all you have done is trash him. the guy looks great. he has worked hard to achieve what he has. if you don't agree with using steriods fine but leave it at that. whatever he does it has worked..give the guy some respect
-
Looking bad ass. Good luck, my first show is 5/10/08 so hopefully I have near the conditioning you have.
-
Thanks Calves!
I appreciate it. I just woke up, 4:00am, Saturday morning about six days left and feeling really good. My weight is holding up good and cant wait to get into the gym and train. I look forward to each and every meal at this point to keep me going. At night, after my last meal, i go to bed so i dont have to suffer thinking about how long I have to go without food. Thanks for looking out for me guys, alex a
-
Alex, Dont know you brother, but you are absolutely preparing the right way. My philosophy is the same get lean and stay there and you dont have to deal w/ last minute tricks.
Your body can hold that conditioning for a long time. You are eating plenty of nutrients and although your body would be happier w/ some fat on it its probably functioning like a well-oiled machine.
A lightweight (who will be a contender in his first attempt @ Nats), from my State called me and said "dude I'm frigggin shredded" I directed him to your pic on Get Big he called back and said "Ok I'm not going".
Well he will be there but I guarentee you after seeing your pic he got right back on the stepmill.
Alex @ this point you have achieved the best conditioning of your life so you are already a success, so go to Dallas and just enjoy every minute no matter the outcome.
I for one am impressed, and after 20+ years at this crazy sport I'm not easy to impress.

Bob, coach, mike A, Solid Attitude, Everyone,
I thank you for taking the time to keep me focused and on task here.
It is so easy to go negetive, get scared, change things and screw things up.
The moral of the story here is, Dont break whats working. What you see is what you get. I doubt I will look much different, i doubt I will look much better or worse, hopefully better of course, but I cant get unreasonable here.
Im an amateur bodybuilder, and and my own guru. I do my own prep and had my own plan. I'm pretty happy how things have turned out and should be happy with the outcome. I appreciate everyones opinions, advise and support. Thanks again, Alex A

I hope! I was just about to have a cheat meal till i read this. j.k.
You guys are great, all the motivation i need to grind out the last couple days is right here on this board! Its weird, there are so many cool people here on getbig, it kind of sucks that a few guys, trying to be funny can ruin the reputation of the sight. I dont even think some of these guys are true haters, they are just trying to be funny.

You have to give credit where it's due... Conditioning like you've shown isn't often seen!

i haven't had as much anticipation about an upcoming contest in a long time. i can't wait to see how you look on stage. i'm usually a mass fan, but your condition and shape is unreal. you will look freaky onstage and probably look 30 lb. heavier than you are. keep at it.

Alex, again...you look incredible...you will do very well. It makes it all worth it when you look in the audience and see your kids cheering you on and hearing the familiar voices yelling for you.
Good luck and stay on point, only a few days to go !
