So in the 8 months since the buyout we now have 3 of the 5 UFC titles firmly in PRIDE fighter hands!
And the next most exciting fight features 2 more PRIDE fighters Silva VS Henderson. I suspect the loser to drop weight and take the belt from GSP.
Two more divisions left..... :o

3 belts baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 of 4 considering PRIDE was missing a class due to lack of obvious talent out there. Those UFC fanboys like Bluto and Mindspin break out in a cold sweat as they watch the cream of the crop in the UFC easily fall victim to Pride fighters.

Anderson is not a true Pride fighter. Of his 24 fights, only 5 were in Pride, of which 2 were losses. He's had 5 straight wins in the UFC.

Randy got more tools in his toolbox. He finished Gonzaga standing. He dominated Sylvia for all 5 rounds (where as Nog had big problems with Sylvia)
Anderson did NOT make a name for himself in Pride.
You do not make a name of yourself by LOSING fights and fighting cans. Common sense to anyone but you.

You have to forgive Mindspin and Bluto. They just started watching MMA in 2007 and have no concept of what Pride was. They're trying to assert their novice opinions on a topic they know nothing about. You forgot "entered the UFC and destroyed one of the faces of the organization who was widely hyped up as being pretty much unbeatable."

Stiebling went on to lose 4 fights in a row, including getting KO'ed by Marvin Eastman ::)
Carlos Newton was UFC leftovers at that time.

*Been snowboarding/surfing since I was 12
*Been watching UFC since mid 90's.
*Been Studying martial arts on/off since I was 5; been focusing on Krav Maga for the last 3 yrs.
*In terms of "owning", the UFC literally OWNS Pride.

Pride fighters in general has done absolutely TERRIBLE since they came to the UFC. This is a fact, so much that people been busy for months discussing WHY that is rather than IF that is.
Even fighters coming outta Pride fighting in the US and winning get criticized - and rightfully so.
NOG didn't impress against Sylvia.
Dan Henderson calls out Paulo Filho saying: "I don't think he has been very impressive in his last two performances since coming to the US but I think that's what not being able to use Steroids will do to you."
So one hand we have the naturals fighting in the UFC - and on the other hand we have the juiced to the grills fighters in Japan. Obviously comparing the two is completely unfair.

You're saying you're impressed with the performances of Shogun, Wanderlei, Soku, Werdum, Crocop, Herring? You can't possibly be. And there's a half dozen more Pride fighters that been slaughtered to add to that list.
Yet you had the highest respect of most of these fighters before they got their ass kicked in the UFC. So if the UFC is so weak, how come they beat nearly every Pride fighter that's been signed?
BTW these are the same people that knocked the shit outta your favorite fighter of all time Arona! (knocked out by Shogun, lost to Wand, knocked out by Soku!) so it's hard to take anything you say seriously.

the sylvia fight looked like a typical nog fight, he's a legend and the UFC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP OF THE WORLD 8)

What did you expect? For Randy to submit Sylvia? He only has four losses. Three of them by submission. Sylvia was closer to knock out Nog than he was to knock out Randy. Randy gave him a bigger beating than Nog ever did.
Gonzaga is no slouch on the ground, he's a BJJ black belt with tons of experience and won titles. Didn't stop Randy from taking him to the ground several times.
Last time Randy lost to submission was 7 years ago.

1. I know Nog can take a beating. I've seen plenty of his fights. That doesn't change the fact that he looked terrible. It sure as hell wasn't his intention to eat Sylvias fist for three rounds. And it surely wasn't his gameplan to time and time again going for the takedown and failing. It sure as hell wasn't his intention to get as close to be knocked out, that maybe he ever has been.
2. As far as I know nobody ever said that there's not fighters in Pride that can take belts in the UFC, so what's the point in stating the obvious? Like you've been right all along, but the problem is you can't find anyone that's been wrong or that disagrees with you on that. So basically you're patting yourselves on the back for having the same opinion shared by everyone. ::)

I've seen most of his fights in Pride, haven't seen his fights from Rings.
I think Nog was in trouble. Losing 2 rounds coming into the third. My bet before the fight was Nog winning though.

if you watched the fight between nogs and tim you could clearly see nogs was not in fighting shape
and that he did not want to be there. if nog didnt even try hard and he won the title just imagine if he tried
