Yeah the guy that raped, tortured, forced her to gouge her eyes out, forced her to swallow liquid cleaners, and then burned her, gets 422 years.
He should get death. And the lawyer should as well, just for trying to plead for his client.

Calling the sex-torture of a Columbia student an "extraordinary evil," an angry judge sent the sadistic rapist to jail for 422 years on Thursday - and said he deserved even more.
"The defendant by his own conduct has forfeited his right to liberty or to the hope of liberty," Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Carol Berkman said of sex monster Robert Williams.
"Although (he) has clearly and unequivocally demonstrated his disdain for the legal process, we who are a part of it are bound to follow the rules."
The remorseless rapist, who had to be forcibly dragged into court, showed no emotion, sitting shackled at the defense table, his hands draped in protective mitts to prevent him from scratching anyone.
"It is safe to say that the person who is before you today is a brutal, sadistic monster," prosecutor Ann Prunty said of Williams, a 31-year-old ex-con.
The victim didn't attend the sentencing, but wrote the judge a letter pleading for the maximum punishment.
"All I ask is that he be given a sentence appropriate for the crime ..., one that ensures he'll never be free to hurt anyone again," the victim wrote.
Berkman was clearly moved.
"Every decent person who witnessed [the victim's] testimony in this courtroom was impressed by her bravery, her intelligence and her extraordinary grace in the face of the horror that this defendant inflicted upon her," the judge said.
A jury of eight men and four women convicted Williams in June on 44 counts of attempted murder, kidnapping, arson, rape, sodomy and burglary.
During the trial the 23-year-old victim testified that she feared she would not survive the nightmarish April 13, 2007 assault in her Hamilton Heights studio apartment.
She described how Williams followed her from the elevator to her apartment door, forcing his way inside and repeatedly raping her.
"I thought after he took all my stuff, I thought he would leave," she testified.
"When he started raping me again, I was sure I was going to die," she continued.
Over 19 hours, Williams tortured the victim as she pleaded for her life. He blinded her with bleach, scalded her with boiling water, sealed her lips with crazy glue, made her cut off her own hair - and demanded she gouge out her eyes before slicing her eyelids.
He capped his fiendish crime by setting her ablaze while she lay bound to a futon frame.
"If Robert Williams is free to walk the streets, someone is going to die," said Prunty, imploring Berkman to lock him up and throw away the key.
Berkman said that if Williams ever comes up for parole, "the parole board should be aware that this is an extremely dangerous man, who has no regard for the safety or welfare of others or for any legal rule."
Defense lawyer Arnold Levine argued that Williams was "psychotic" and pleaded with the judge for mercy.
"Nothing I can say mitigates the crime," Levine said. "Give him some hope of someday getting out. To do that is the humane thing to do."

However, torture of him makes us no better. Confine him to an ultra-small cell for the short term and allow his victim the option to bring him death (via gunshot). If she declines, put a bullet into his head and dispose of his body in such a way that any trace of his existence on this planet is gone.

If you have women in your life, your always thinking about that. What is mace spray going to do, to someone who is high on drugs and desperate? Nothing.
Last summer, a guy just like this was on the loose raping single women in their 20's who lived alone. He would pick them out only if they lived in first floor apartments, and just bust through the balcony door, and then rape them and shoot some with a shotgun. He managed to do it around 10 times.
The good news is she graduated from Columbia this semester, in journalism.

Here's a thought. Life in prison for a sadistic motherf'er like that isn't any punishment at all. Why not torture him slowly and make him feel the same pain he made his victim(s) feel? Not to get all Old Testament here, but let him feel what "an eye for an eye" really feels like. This crime is absolutely sick. Can't believe these things happen on a somewhat of a regular occurance in this country, which has so much even the poor people are fat. People of all races are capable of being savage monsters. The Knoxville murder/rape/torture come to mind, as well as what happened to the poor woman that was raped/tortured in West Virginia.

It is people such as yourself that help to ensure blacks remain the least common denominator when compared with other races. It is highly unfortunate that successful blacks are often lumped in with the savages in terms of perception and stereotypes. If things keep going the way they are, blacks will NEVER, I repeat, will NEVER be as productive, studious, or competent as the other races of the world. Keep asking for handouts and playing the blame game.......this ensures the eating of mudpies and residing in shitholes for the remainder of history. Look at the billions upon billions that have been thrown at Africa...to no avail, and worsening conditions.
The only way, as it appears nothing policy-wise is changing, that blacks can gain equivalaecy to whites/asians/jews, and others is by bringing them to their level, rather than rising to theirs. Maybe one day all the genorosity can be milked out of the other various groups and make the burden too great to bear by anyone.
I will concede, that, not ALL of the blacks' problems are self-inflicted(in the US), but they do as a group bear a huge responsibility. I would also put blame on insane and unnecessarily long prison sentences for even minor crimes that seem to expand every year. I would also blame governmental handouts in the form of welfare, housing, and food stamps being given out to able-bodied people. Handouts destroy people, both on a group and individual level. I've seen it, and still see it to this very day. It's said the road to hell is oft paved with good intentions.
It's time for blacks(the ones that haven't, and there are very large numbers of them) to stop playing the blame game and get with the rest of civilization.

I disagree. The guy should get equal punishment to what he dished out until death. The fucking lawyer was doing his job. Yes I so often hate these bastards but IMO the system works best in the long run with strong advocates for the accused. Lets not forget how many people end up lining up for the crime when they didn't do it. No, it's not what we like to hear, it doesn't seem like justice to have a strong advocate for the accused, but trust me, it is indeed what makes us better than other countries and yes it does sometimes play out in a way that seems painful and just fucking wrong. It would be worse if we played it out by passion and mine would be to torture the fucker slowly--but we can't and shouldn't.

Sure, justice. I guess, maybe he will get jail justice. Who knows.
But you have to look at what is going on, the guy lived or "squatted" in shit holes, and ran off drugs, now he gets supposed mental help psych drugs, and 3 square meals a day, all after ruining some girls life, while she picks up pieces of her self...once this guy is sentenced I don't think he has many rights to make an appeal on our tax dollars....no one wants to fuel this guy's chances or even a glimmer of "hope" for even 2 seconds of breathe on the outside world.
Some jails are now sarting to set up tent cities where it is manual labor, and they feed you just nutrition not "comfort food" this guy if he is getting 422 years should be sent to a tent prison camp.
