i was charged with spitting gum or exporate (something close to that) on a person for a incident that happened july of 08. I had a confrontation with a guy that assaulted my good friend. i saw him at a bar, i spit gum on him, later that ngiht, he ran to a cop and told them and i went to court and received a year probation. prior to that incident, my only criminal charge was disturbing the peace. In september, i got another disturbing the peace and now im going up for violation of probation. What do you guys think, if i do get jail for violation, how hard is it to get work release? i have a very good job at a nation wide bank and im worried about losing my job now. i do have a lawyer but i want other opinions

life has been good to me. i dont drink that often and in this case, def wasnt drunk due to driving (im pretty respnsible at times) if you read my intial post, i was wondering if i went to jail, how would work release come in, maybe someone has first hand experience from that point of view. i made the mistake of spitting and getting in trouble, i made the mistake of getting a violation case, so who is blaming who?

Spitting is disgusting and the penalties should be harsher because if you get spat on and respond with a fist, then YOU get charged.
Anyway, I would recommend investing in some metal underwear with a padlock, like Leslie Neilsen had in one of the Naked Gun films. Failing that, don't wipe your ass for months and hopefully the disgusting shit stench shall deter all but the most sexually frustrated of well hung lifers.
You're lucky, young guys who spit gum and disturb the peace are left well alone and given serious respect by the myriad murderers and armed robbers in the big house.

if you get jail for violating probation with those dickshit charges, then you have a terrible lawyer. I have I beleive 6 violations of probation and they always got dropped (usually was up on 3 charges or more at once). Plus with that job and the small charges--holy if you get jail kill your lawyer.

i think so, look at the year we had, beat a top 10 team (well at least the beginning of the year) should have beat tech, mizzo and OU were bad but if played later in the season, might have been closer. Nah. I lived in Colorado and now SoCal. Both pretty amazing places. I grew up in Missouri till I was 18. I'd rather live with ghetto blacks than backwoods rednecks. where do you live? i know here in new york city that shit would not go through. they do NOT want people serving time in their already heavily populated jails because of this type of bullshit. without a lawyer, you might get probation, some more probation, or a fine. if you had a lawyer this case would more than likely be dropped. i hope these same conditions apply to wherever you live man. i have had to deal with bullshit summonses when i was younger, one for being in a park after 9pm and the other for being in mcdonalds without purchasing anything which under the law is considered trespassing and i got ticketed for. fucking bullshit man good luck.
