you need to bathe your body in complex carbs...
excess fat doesnt come from extra carbs, it comes from too much dietary fat. the science is so strong on this, yet so many still follow low carb diet

It's because the weight comes OFF and most people Don't give a Fuck if it's Muscle or FAT.

Fuckin all fuckin true, Karen. These mother fuckers get stringy like shit weeds. The bitches skin gets loose, patters in the air like god damn dust shatterin. The muscle is sucked dry shit we're talkin like a god damn fuckin MUMMY! :-\
What role do you believe glucogenesis plays, here?
-
For an out of body experience try 14 days 0ZERO Fucking carbs now that is a trip.Ketone sticks are all brown and ammonium levels go through the roof but man watch that weight run off.
-
Tell me what your body needs carbs for when you're dieting?
-
If you are Not using Drugs the carbs are a nice little energy giver.IMO.

Been there.....prefer to stay just above ketosis if I go that route again.
But you're right, the weight fly's off and my stomach felt like an inferno and I could eat as much protein as I wanted without ever really feeling full. It was insane. I used a teaspoon of peanut-butter every now and then for energy as well as lots of caffeine.
The only problem is that lifting weights at the gym was becoming more of a mental challenge than a physical one since I had such little energy. :-\
If I did that diet over again I'd down some carbs just before I train....we learn from our mistakes.
But on the plus side, my face was shredded and looking really sharp. So if that's what someone is aiming for it's probably the best diet along with lots of coffee.
The downside is that I effed up and lost too much weight......over 7 kilo's, close to 9 at the worst. A lot of that was muscle, now I'm trying to regain it :-[
-
I'v been on it 4 weeks and feel great. ;D
-
Yes Coffee is our friend when carbs are Zero. Most who say they are on Zero are Not really on Zero but when you do have zero Fuck does it work. The old saying Eat like a horse Train like a horse Eat like a cat and train like a cat.Zero carbs and you train like a cat.

I was trying to keep the carbs under 30 grams for 3 days, then carbing up on the fourth.
But I'd say I could be in ketosis at under 50 or possibly a bit more once I've started.

Really? :o
Hope you're joking. If not, name me ONE essential amino acid, one essential fatty acid, and one essential carbohydrate.
I'll give you a cookie.

Yes, I only carb up like this after about 2 weeks in.
-
You seem to be on the right track.

I am on week 2 of low carb. weight is dropping fast. I find I am not as hungry so eating is something I have to force myself to do or else I would be getting maybe 1200 calories or less a day. Not good for sure. Even weed has not made me hungry.

That's why after that it's important to carb up every few days.

Try B12 injections X two a week

dieting doesnt work
your body is designed to handle as much 'workload' as you wish, your muscles and fat compensate, then is where you will find what foods suite you best for energy and everyday eatin and livin

My 'diet' wasn't really to lose weight.
My main reason for such a low carb diet was to reduce water-retention and bloating, mostly my face, also to get rid of constant allergies which I was suffering from. Since my body was relatively lean and my face bloated, I figured my body didn't handle carbs well.
Only recently I've figured out the problem was not carbs as such, but wheat/gluten. Especially bread.
Now I use wheat and sugar free oat biscuits and the problem is gone. So now I can have similar amounts of protein as before but with enough energy as well.
So my 'diet' was originally for this reason and not really to lose weight.

what are you talking about?
meat has all 9 essential amino acids....
i do have knowledge in biochemistry/nutrition "YoungBlood" ::)
the point im making is so many people go on these "low carb diets" yet have no clue what they are doing. Notice i said complex carbs, not simple.

You lose bodyfat whichever way you choose to diet. Calories are king. I've cut down low carb, high carb, whatever yaddy yah, bladdy blah, it's all the same. Eat what you want and cover your nutritional bases as a rule of thumb like TA says and you will end up the same way. It wouldn't harm a lot of you to try a more rational "diet".

theres over 30,000 published diets alone. If any single one diet worked, there would be no reason for other 29,999 to exist.
calories come from protein, carbs, fats. And no, high carb, low carb, high fat, low fat, is not all the same. they are very different and your body responds accordingly.

1) being complex or simple doesn't matter in regards to what you're talking about
2) there are only EIGHT essential amino acids genius. Two more are considered CONDITIONALLY essential- meaning we can produce them from other aminos, but not in the quantities needed- so we should supplement our diet with them somehow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amino_acid
3) when you say 'calories come from protein carbs etc...' you are correct. As well as that your body responds very differently to each ratio. But in the end, weight lost is all boiled down to calories. Eat 1200 calories of lard and butter, but burn 2000 calories jogging all day and you lose weight. Eat 2000 calories of chicken (boneless skinless) and only burn 1500 sitting behind a desk and you will gain weight.
You may not look the way you want (being a BBing site, I will assume you're aiming for the BBer look), no Ronnie Coleman you will be- but "when in Rome, do as Romans do."

Corky you don't know shit, shut up and put on your monkey suit.

nothing wrong with very low carb for contest preps,, youve got to do whatever u can to get ripped, low carbs excess cardio etc etc... but day to day moderate is the way to go, as a bodybuilder your protein should already be high, the only two variables that can change is your fats and carbs, which are adjusted to whatever u need them to be............its not very hard fellas

Every week you come up with a new bs "theory", Just decide which one "works" in your mind.

Pure hogwash, my man. That's like saying that bicep curls don't work because there is more than that one exercise for the biceps. There may be 30,000 diets, but you'll never find a single one that works for everyone and have them respond to it the same way. That's because we are all built differently with different tolerance levels and our response to things we consume or do differs from person to person.
Anyone can make up a diet. Hell, you've got fat people like Oprah Winfrey and Dr Phil advocating diets that they claim will get you into shape ::) ;D Some of them will work and most won't. The ones that won't work for you don't make the legit ones a fake or useless - you need to try it out for yourself for a while and see what happens. That being said, there are universal principles even in nutrition, such as the fact that you will need to consume less number of calories than what you use to lose weight, that you'll need to supply your body with all the nutrients it needs to grow properly and so on.
As for your statement that you can't get fat from carbs - again, you are wrong. Try eating a whole lot of sugar in some form or even a whole lot more complex carbs like rice or oats than what your body needs. You will get fat, period. That's because you are consuming excess calories. Your body has to do work to transform those excess calories from protein or carbs into bodyfat, but it will do exactly that if you take in more than what you need to maintain the weight you are at.

Kiwi is spot on..any excess calories consumed will be stored as fat ,from carbs, fats or protein, your body uses what it needs and stores the rest as lard.Add in training and even drugs and this turnover changes but you still will only use what you need , any excess will be stored as fat..complex carbs with make you fat if you take in more than you need.
Again he is correct when saying everyone is different , we cant be pigeon holed all into one box..what works for you may not work for me,differing metabolisms, hormone eficency etc the list goes on and on.
Its all trial and error to see what works for you as an individual but to say Complex carbs dont make you fat is rubbish.
-
Carb cycling is the best way to tolerate a tough weight/fat loss diet.
Why make it tougher than it already is?
3 days low,two days high..........repeat,but vary amounts/grams.

That's the thing with people nowadays - they needlessly complicate things. Are you fat? Then just eat less and exercise more. Are you skinny and not putting on weight? Then just increase your caloric intake via whole foods and focus on compound movements in the gym where your goal should be to try and get stronger over time, which is the easiest way to progress.
But that would mean that the experts out there aren't needed and so, up they come with this bullshit about numbers and number of carbs and grams per pound of bodyweight and all that - stuff which only the elite and people who are competing need to use, to keep close track of how they are changing over time so they can keep working on it and peak properly for whatever it is that they are preparing.
The average person who wants to gain a few pounds of muscle or lose a few pounds of fat has absolutely no need to get to exact with numbers, at least for the first 90% of the gaining or cutting phase. They should just bump up their protein, make sure everything is balanced diet wise and focus on getting stronger in the gym, where they should use compound movements. Similarly, if they are trying to lose fat, they should just cut down their food intake as well as the amount of junk food that they eat and be more active physically. It's that simple.
Instead, you've got people spending hours and hours debating irrelevant things. No one wants to put in the effort - they just try and make up for it with some fancy theory or study, which is never going to help. And some time later, they can't settle down on any theory due to all the inconsistencies and counter arguments and give up, thinking that the 30,000 diets out there are BS and that none of them work. The current generation is just shocking this way.

"The current generation is just shocking this way."
I prefer to say its a generation who is looking for the best way to achieve what they need to achieve. Nothing wrong with that...
Having some backing to your training/diet methodology avoids what Vince basile calls "following your training theory like a religion"
"mysteriously hoping results will appear"
"much like people pray time after time to yield no result"
Yes there is something to learn from old Vince...
Pretty much agree with everything else you said Kiwiol.
Good stuff...

kiwiol is an intellectual and as the great Sherlock Holmes once said, 'To a great mind, nothing is insignificant'.
I am honored to have him as an internet friend. ;D
