what is it with people who go low carb?

you need to bathe your body in complex carbs...

excess fat doesnt come from extra carbs, it comes from too much dietary fat. the science is so strong on this, yet so many still follow low carb diet

For an out of body experience try 14 days 0ZERO Fucking carbs now that is a trip.Ketone sticks are all brown and ammonium levels go through the roof but man watch that weight run off.

Been there.....prefer to stay just above ketosis if I go that route again.
But you're right, the weight fly's off and my stomach felt like an inferno and I could eat as much protein as I wanted without ever really feeling full. It was insane. I used a teaspoon of peanut-butter every now and then for energy as well as lots of caffeine.

The only problem is that lifting weights at the gym was becoming more of a mental challenge than a physical one since I had such little energy.  :-\
If I did that diet over again I'd down some carbs just before I train....we learn from our mistakes.

But on the plus side, my face was shredded and looking really sharp. So if that's what someone is aiming for it's probably the best diet along with lots of coffee.
The downside is that I effed up and lost too much weight......over 7 kilo's, close to 9 at the worst. A lot of that was muscle, now I'm trying to regain it  :-[

I was trying to keep the carbs under 30 grams for 3 days, then carbing up on the fourth.
But I'd say I could be in ketosis at under 50 or possibly a bit more once I've started.

Generally most with Zero carbs for 4days will be entering Ketosis.

That's why after that it's important to carb up every few days.

          Try B12 injections X two a week

My 'diet' wasn't really to lose weight.
My main reason for such a low carb diet was to reduce water-retention and bloating, mostly my face, also to get rid of constant allergies which I was suffering from. Since my body was relatively lean and my face bloated, I figured my body didn't handle carbs well.

Only recently I've figured out the problem was not carbs as such, but wheat/gluten. Especially bread.
Now I use wheat and sugar free oat biscuits and the problem is gone. So now I can have similar amounts of protein as before but with enough energy as well.

So my 'diet' was originally for this reason and not really to lose weight.

meat has all 9 essential amino acids....

i do have knowledge in biochemistry/nutrition "YoungBlood" ::)

the point im making is so many people go on these "low carb diets" yet have no clue what they are doing. Notice i said complex carbs, not simple.

You lose bodyfat whichever way you choose to diet. Calories are king. I've cut down low carb, high carb, whatever yaddy yah, bladdy blah, it's all the same. Eat what you want and cover your nutritional bases as a rule of thumb like TA says and you will end up the same way. It wouldn't harm a lot of you to try a more rational "diet".

i cant eat sugar or ill get acne, otherwise unlimited foods and any kind of food in ulimited amounts just cant eat sugar

theres over 30,000 published diets alone. If any single one diet worked, there would be no reason for other 29,999 to exist.

calories come from protein, carbs, fats. And no, high carb, low carb, high fat, low fat, is not all the same. they are very different and your body responds accordingly.
