Milos clearly. 256 reps with 12 pounds on incline is impressive.

He was chosen to enter that show as it was really a Weider vs. Muscletech promo, with athletes of both supplement companies comepting against each other.  Nasser did not want to compete it in but was told he had to, so in defiance he just did an easy 15 reps and racked the bar

Sandow was the strongest. Or then the stories are fabricated which I refuse to believe. He for example let a grown man step on his palm which was on the ground and then proceeded to lift the arm up arm straight.

hahaha, if you seriously believe that an IFBB pro who competes at 280ish can only bench press 225 for 15 reps as a max then you are seriously retarded.

If the stories about him are true, then probably Ian Harrison.

Otherwise, maybe Ronnie Coleman, in part due to his deadlifts.

The Barbarians were very strong too.

Great post....

there is documented evidence that nasser has the weakest bench of any pro over 130 pounds..

That video is an example that Nasser was/is all drugs..Why would a pro who lifts weights only lift 225* 12 reps

Arab genetic suck BTW

*Yawn* - this has already been addressed many times

That reminds me, we also talked about the bench press competition where he did 15 reps for 225 lbs and got questioned a lot on the boards as to why he could not or did not lift more.  He actually did not even want to do the competition but was chosen by the Weider camp and was told it was mandatory for him as it was really a competition between Muscletech vs. Weider athletes.  I am guessing he was chosen since he is one of the bigger/stronger Weider guys who was not competing at the Olympia that year.  He then defiantly decided that he would just go and do 10 reps and take off.  When the time came, he went ahead and did 15 comfortable reps instead before deciding it's enough.  That was nowhere near an actual maximum performance with 225 for Nasser.  Matt Duvall tore his chest a few weeks before the contest while he was practing for it, and Nasser did not want to risk any injury like that, and really doesn't care how much he benches as opposed to how he looks.

Fake plates?  Then why did JP Fux have a severe leg injury from a squad attempt at a Flex photoshoot?  Must be pretty heavy "fake" weights they use  ::)

5'11" or so and maybe 295-300 in relatively good condition, MILO magazine did a write up on him and he was a FREAK, 500 pound push presses behind the neck, 700 for reps on close stance Olympic style squats buried well below parallel, 455 for reps on steep inclines, 110 pound db front raises, fuccking beast.

He was on Palubmo's radio show claiming it was real, and the large plates that look  fake were actually 50lb plates.

Made up a bullshit story about challenging the powerlifting world to a bet; if he can bench 600 then they pay him $10 000
If he can't do it, he pays them $10 000

According to him, they refused to take the bet.

He was so full of shit he said something like "sometimes i get under 200lb and it feels heavy, then other days, 600lb is no problem, it just flys up.

he had his kid spotting him for the 600lb bench and had whipped cream in hs mouth while doing it.

I don't believe that particular video for a second,
but I do believe he could be a big bencher, just not a 600lb x2 bencher.

He is a large guy, well over 250lb

I am sure this won't be the last we see of him.

405 for a few reps is feasible or maybe 455 or so for 1-2 but no fuccking way while the grass is green and the sky is blue did he do reps with 600.

Wow strong Ronnie nuthugging.

There are/were plenty of crazy strong bodybuilders around.

Just look at what The Barbarian Brothers lifted back in the EIGHTIES.

Ian Harrison. Platz's squats. Heck, Levrone on chest presses.

People act like Ronnie is the only one who handles 200 lbs DBs on chest presses. Let's not forget Platz did 180s for 6 reps weighing MUCH less back in the mid 80s. That gives you an idea about the level of strength among the stronger BBers.

What makes Ronnie a beast are his deadlifts (so close to comp. too).

Jonnie Jackson, No Contest

Bench Press (1 rep max.): 545 lbs.

Barbell Curl (1 rep max.): 215 lbs.

Squat (1 rep max.): 825 lbs.

Deadlift (1 rep max.): 805 lbs.

Not bad for a little guy!

in my opinion its not a fair contest, johnnie trains just as hard for powerlifting as he does at bb'ing, but none the less a crazy strong guy

C'mon Bigknobs.....thoase are fucking photoshoot pics. Just because JP Fux  used real weights doesn't translate into everyone used them.  If someone used still photographs to back up Dorians strength claims, you would have an aneurysm and wind up with a Nasser eyeball.

Many will jump on the Johnny Jackson bandwagon and claim he is fact the strongest of all bodybuilders.

I call bullshit on all claims.

Johnny is a master of the 'half rep'.  His form is lazy and exaggerated.

At the end of the day, strength should only be measured against the 'truly' natural competitor.

These juiced up clowns give the 'real' natural strong competitors a bad, bad name!

Steriod abusers don't come into the equation when debating who is the strongest of bodybuilders.

Bodybuilders by definition are drug cheats.  Drug cheats do not have a legitimate place in the scale of strongest versus weakest.

Again, the steroid abusing drug cheat has no right to  ever be considered  in the category as 'strongest bodybuilder'.

That's right, there gains and achievements are a direct result of chemical enhancement.  Their strength is a false paradigm therefore making this debate invalid!

Strength must be natural and not steroid induced!

Exactly - Nas is one of the biggest posers strength wise.
Also claimed a 200lb dumbbell shoulder press, when in reality he only did get 1 shaky rep(starting at 1:28) with the 140s.

Wrong- Chris Dickerson could only bench 2 plates!

Dickerson lifted 790lbs in the three Olympic lifts on the day of his AAU Mr. America win weighing about 170. Most bodybuilders today get tired walking the day of the contest. Back in the day you had to Olympic lift for athletic points to prove you weren't a cosmetic athlete. If you can find a top ten pro today that can lift 300lbs off the floor to over head I wouldn't believe it.

Dickerson had serious shoulder, back and knee issues toward the end of his career that was around 20 years of competing. He also trained very fast with light weights toward the end. Most guys who thought he was a pussy in the gym couldn't keep up with him after doing every exercise for around 6 sets of 10 with little rest in between sets.

the guy had world bench records in his early 20's.

He benched 610lbs at 220lbs bodyweight, which was an unofficial world record at the time. I think he was only 21 or 22 when he did that as well.

What about Stumpy and Eddie Ellwood ?
I remember multi pro mr Universe Eddie competing a couple of times at Britain's strongest man around 10 years ago and he wiped the floor with everyone until he injured himself.
If stumpy had been 4 inches taller he would have done some damage.

he was making it a point that bb is not a benching for reps like a tard competition

it was the passive agressiveness of nasser coming out as he did really slow full reps with 225 not trying even to get a lot of reps
