For the most part, obesity (such as mine is) is a long term phenomenon dating back to poor childhood eating and exercise habits; I would venture to guess that 75%+ cases of obesity (such as mine) date back to the early years of life. I ate too much, exercised too little and didn't start lifting until my late twenties. When all of these factors come together you end up with obesity and as I said I think most of us fat/obese people fit into this category. Forming good habits and starting lifting in your teens seems to be the best way of preventing it. When you are older it is much, much harder. Anyway, my two cents...
-
Do you fat people realize how bad you stink?

Burger King..... definitely not as anabolic as McDiesel

Interestingly enough, that is not one of my problems.

Never had that complaint from the few women I have dated. In that respect I am lucky despite being at 50% bodyfat.

It sickens me too.

As far back as I can remember; maybe 11 years +...

for the most part, I hate obese people with everything in my heart
...and know it has nothing to do with the whole permabulker vs skinny twink thing
I just see obese people as selfish pieces of shit
who the fuck are they to eat SOOO much food when there are people, literally, starving to death in this world
btw, i'm not talking about those who are like 40,50 even 70 pounds overweight
I'm talking about those who are soooo fat that they have to transport themselves around in a scooter
and don't give me that "it is glandular" excuse
-

Nothing current and missing a camera part so can't post yet. In a few months will post progress pics. Maybe I am closer to 40%... :-\

Most kids don't exercise and eat all that great. It's a lot more that that. God is just having a little fun with you people.
-

In fairness, them eating less would not cause starving third-worlders to get any more food. It's not like McDonald's ships their unsold big macs to ethiopia.
But their sickening lack of willpower is disgusting.

Well sure, add shitty genetics in and you get an obese time bomb.

You and Debussey = in the same boat. Debussey = intellectually and physically extremely inferior. On top of that, Debussey can not even be classified as a human due to the alien genetic material it contains. >:(

LOL. I think I understand what you are saying, now. And I guess my point is that in some way, or by some (relative) perspective, every single one of us can be viewed as inferior. And having written that, I have just slid on to the moral relativity slope. Ouch. Self-owning. ;D

According to QuackerDave/wifebeater/theif, women = attracted to 240 pound fat guys 1000 times more than 180 pound ripped guys with nice faces and non-stinking body odor. Being fat these days = the smart choice.

I am a weakling so I don't think it has suffered much, not much strength to lose; maybe a little bit. I should emphasise I am not that much leaner than that pic...unfortunately. 1300 works for some people. It's not really starvation and besides I had nearly 1800 today..so...truth is I mix it up. Sometimes I will have 1800, sometimes 1200, sometimes 1600...etc...for example, since I had 1800 today I will probably only have 1200-1400 tomorrow.

What's MMA?
-

Actually, calipers can work well if one uses them correctly (Jackson & Pollock 3 site = pretty good). The problem is that most people fucks up the measurement or intentionally fails to grab all the skin that's there, and they do not account for fat other places in the body.
If anything, if used properly with a tracking program, calipers = good to use for assessing progress.

MMA = Mixed Martial Arts, cagefighting or whatever people call it.

In my training years maybe around 15%:

Many people say that but everytime I see a picture of a "properly used caliper reading", it's something like the above.

Many people say that but everytime I see a picture of a "properly used caliper reading", it's something like the above.
They they have usually messed it up, perhaps not used a formula suitable for their body (since people store fat in different places) or just done the measurements and calculations plain wrong. Debussey agrees that almost all pictures of a "properly used caliper reading" = way off base, but the instrument in itself = not THAT inaccurate.
Debussey has heard that reading the instructions very carefully + taking the avg. of 5 measurements for a single measurement site = good.

Perhaps calipers = dieting. It = easy to do, but 99,5% of people gets it wrong and then claims that "it is impossible" or rapports fake results.

If someone does it who has experience, I agree. I hear that they compared it with more accurate methods and it does work in this case. Seems like there are not many people out there with enough experience to do it properly. I read the instructions and on my last cut, I supposedly had 4-5% bodyfat according to the measurements.

Maybe but I am sick and tired of being fat. Granted I only started to diet seriously about two weeks ago so maybe I just need patience. It's not like I will SEE a .5-1 kg loss on my body, no?

No, the progress will often be very difficult to see for a long time for yourself, so you should definitely write down your daily weight, and measure your waist, thighs and other key areas every week (and perhaps also a caliper). Log all the results in a spreadsheet, and keep track of your progress. This way you can also more easily see if the diet you = using = giving the desired results.
-

I always found that when losing weight, time was non-linear. I'd go to about 3-4 weeks before noticing anything and then it just seems to wash off me. In fact, the the first time it got away from me and I ended up losing way to much. Keep up the effort. It's already happening.
-

:o Did you eat the exact same stuff at least 6 days per week when doing this? Debussey has found (hypotetically of course, since Debussey does not diet) that weight loss = practically linear when Debussey's got data for more than 10 days. For a 3+month diet, the weight loss graphed = practically a straight line.
Are you a mutant or something? :D
-
Well, I am certainly not going to defend myself, fully recognising my inferiority...
I don't understand this at all as you've always come across to me as someone of great discipline.
I was a little chubby in highschool but I changed my eating habits and started working out and leaned out. Went from a 36 waist size to 32 now which is loose but 30 would be tight. I struggled with the first few months but I was consistent enough, and by the time when I was 17 I was not fat anymore.
Most people who say they're dieting and exercising honestly don't do it properly or do it half assed, and when they fail they blame metabolism and genetics. It's a process that requires self motivation each and everyday. Granted, when you are obese it can be tough but it can still be done with patience and consistency.
Weight loss to me is more of a life style thing than strict dieting. I've found that calorie counting with decent protein intake = best for people who lift, and also doing cardio to the point where you burn 400-500 calories a day helps a lot. Today I had a gyro which was probably 650 cals and oats amounting to 260 cals with a glass of whole milk which I measured at 150. I burned 300 calories on the elliptical. I probably eat one more meal totaling 500-600 calories and I should be fine for the day. This is what I've been doing and I've maintained my strength, increased endurance and have gotten leaner. This is a plan anyone can follow, even those with busy schedules.

Hmm. It's been a while since I last dieted but I'd say yes. Pretty much the same food every day with one big cheat day. After three weeks or so, and I hadn't noticed anything, I was pretty pissed. And then it seemed that every time I put my pants on, I had to go one hole smaller on the belt. Maybe my body needs a lot of convincing.

Interesting.

I always found that when losing weight, time was non-linear. I'd go to about 3-4 weeks before noticing anything and then it just seems to wash off me. In fact, the the first time it got away from me and I ended up losing way to much. Keep up the effort. It's already happening.
Thanks doc for the encouraging words. I think you are right. Just keep doing what I am doing; eating clean, low calorie, cardio and weight training; it's gotta happen. :)
-
Interesting.
Being a mathematician you are precise about everything; I write the calories down and that is about it.

And if things get really tetchy for you, just buy one of those weight drug things like Cytolean or Lipo 6 and load that with a good dose of ephedrine x2 a day. ;D

You just highlighted my point. Early. That is important.

What are you talking about? Debussey = a retard living in a mental asylum, too retarded to graduate junior high >:(
In a hypothetical situation of dieting, Debussey would preplan the exact calories and the macronutrient breakdown, and then make a diet that would contain these exact numbers. Then Debussey would measure all the food it ate every day during the diet with a gram weight (during the food preparation phase in the morning) to ensure that the diet = followed, and then allow for one or two cheatmeals per week of up to 500 calories (usually two cheatmeals once the diet had been going on for a while).
This strategy probably explains why Debussey's hypothetical weightloss = almost linear in nature, because other factors that influence weight (salt for example) would not vary that much since every gram of food = accounted for.
In order to succeed with pursuits like this, you need to become a robot that follows the computer program to the binary code.

Well I figure I have at least 13, probably more like 15 or 16 kg to lose so for the beginning I will just count calories.

LOL. My cheat meals/days were more like 5,000 cals. ;D

Stick to what you are doing and gradually it will come.
I do not count calories exactly per say, but I have a decent grasp of how much a certain portion of food contains.

That is sufficient. As long as you are losing 0,5 kg/week on average, you are doing excellent. But do not trust weight progress with just one measurement per week.

I decided to exclude cheat meals for as long as possible.

Oh, and if I could throw a tip your way, D. Train the shit out of your legs so they have no incentive to disappear on you. A couple of really heavy sets to maintain strength, and then 10 sets of 12 reps of hard stuff or so, and then finish off with a good set of 20.
Add: Really good for hormone levels and metabolism, too!

Dieting = technically simple. Self motivation = rocket science for most people.
Debussey thinks that Deicide does not need more technical details about dieting. Debussey thinks that Deicide needs more incentive to get into shape. He might be somewhat motivated, but he = not so determined that he = willing to kill to obtain his goal. He = not obsessed. Without such an obsession, the objective will not be accomplished in this case.
What could Getbiggers to do help him get incentive, the kind of incentive that creates a barely controllable obsession? Dr.Monkey: chime in with your "James Bondishness" and contribute >:(

Hmm...obsession helps but you can still accomplish things without being obsessed.
When I was younger I was obsessed with lots of stuff but as you get older the fires cool.

Debussey does not exercise, thus Debussey has no obsession with it. Debussey has no obsessions with anything except Gary Busey, chips and prozac >:(
But very good attitude there: It's either all or nothing, 1 or 0.

It's strange you know, in Norwegian, Dutch and all the other Germanic languages, the noun 'book' in feminine but in German it is neuter...
