Any Pics of this BB, he has the solid look...not to big either 235lb. and looks better than most bb today
Compare Mike Francois and Jay Cutler... Pics?? think he trained back with Doz and went rep for rep easily.
-
Never heard of him training with Dorian... Anyway, Francois looked good, but had a blocky look to him especially from the front. Just the genetics he was given.

a blocky look?
Especially from the front. In certain poses he looked fantastic though, like the above.
;)
-
There are pics and photos of him and Yates out there bent rows 405lb, i just dont own the old mags anymore.
He was showing Mike his reverse grip style of rowing.
-
He sure looked good when he beat Flex at the Arnold in '95 :)

haha exactly
some of these guys make it out as if mike was a disasterpiece
-
Never heard of him training with Dorian...
He did a workout with Dorian after the 1996 Mr Olympia for FLEX magazine, in which they trained back.
To the OP, Francois was 260 lb onstage a couple of times and when he won the 95 Arnold Classic, he weighed around 255 lb. So he was a lot closer to Jay size-wise.
He also had a much better back and conditioning, not to mention his best shape was as good as Jay's best shape (circa 2001), although they have different structures.

More pics of one of my favorite bodybuilders

yes mike was good, ... but to a certain limit!!

;)
Great pics as usual, ND. You got any scans of his "Met Max" ads? He had a couple of rear lat spread pics in those that were just insane. Also, have you got any scans of his workout with Dorian that was in FLEX circa 1996?

Yeah Mike was good enough to beat Nasser at that contest ;)

i have this issue and mike kept licking dorian's ass throughout the workout like saying (i had to do one more rep, what could i do when mr. olympia yelled at me to do more).. lol..
by the way i remember that with this workout pics and comments they mentioned dorian's advices for anyone who wanted to train his back really hard).. one of the advices was to use wrist straps because the strength of your back should be more than the strength of your wrist,.. my next back workout was with these straps :)..
-

look again man.. one of the pics is from mr. olympia 95 :P

obviously I was talking about the 94 NOC , Mike was way off in 1995

mike was great, really great but he was never considered as one of the very top.. may be he had a better body than someone like dillet but unfortunately he never showed his best at any olympia..

Who said he wasn't considered one of the very top? you? he turned pro in 1994 and won his first 4 pro contests beating some very well seasoned pros including Nasser at the 1994 NOC and Flex in 1995 that speaks volumes , unfortunately he got sick but he had a load of potential
-
I don't sorry , here's a few more
No worries and I agree with you - he could have been Mr Olympia cause he had no weak points and in the 95 Mr O, everyone expected him to make top 3 after his AC showing that year.
Too bad he fell sick before he made a training video - would have been great to see him do some of his best lifts on his own video.

in NOC 94 he didn't deserve to beat nasser.. in 95 AC he beat flex who was just back from his injuries after his serious car accident!!.. after this he always came after the big guys.. he never showed his AC 95 shape again i belive.. he never beat guys like levrone or ray or even dillet (he only beat an off kevin at AC 97).. so he was not considered one of the ''very'' best in his era

A common theme when Nasser loses , " he shouldn't have beaten Nasser " judges decided who was better and a lot of times it wasn't Nasser that's the cold hard facts deal with them.
Mike could only beat who showed up onstage , regardless of their circumstances and the judges decided he was better than Nasser and Flex that's reality

i mean that you can't consider mike one of the "very" top in the 90s because before his name you have to always mention other 5-6 names!!.. may be he had the genetics to be one of the best but his bad luck (his illness or whatever) prevented him from achieving what he could!!
-

He wasn't one of the best of the 1990s but he was on his way , the guy was on a tear he won his first 4 pro shows , how many others can say that? how many? Flex Wheeler and Phil Heath ?? that's great company
he had loads of potential which was cut short he beat a LOT of seasoned pros of the 1990s including Flex and Nasser , Labrada , Munzer , etc , etc
-

Huh? Mike was the golden boy of his era. If he wasn't derailed by illness I'm sure he would have won the O. Yes, he is somewhat blocky but no more so than Jay. We never got to see him peak but at their respective bests I would put him ahead of Jay. He also had a great personal history profile--something this sport needs more of. ::)

fixed!..

fixed!..
Spare me the ' unfairly ' you're not a judge , you obviously don't even know how contests work how can you say he won unfairly YOU can't you're solely basing in on personal preference and that's not how contests are judged
you can't only deny the facts and the facts are Mike beat Nasser fairly , Mike had a load of potential won his first 4 shows something Nasser couldn't do ;)
-
did mike fell the same way Flex wheeler and Don Long did?
-
He was 5'9" right? ???

Funny thing is, everyone would have said the same or less of Ronnie if he'd stopped competing after the 96 Olympia. But he broke new grounds with his physique and went all the way to the top. Mike was nowhere near his limit when he won the 95 AC and he wasn't very old either. Plus he had Dorian-esque work ethics and it was his back that mainly made everyone feel he'd be the next big thing. I think he could have hung in there with Nasser (like he did in the 96 AC, where he was better than he was the previous year and looked insane at 260 lb) and beaten him again if he'd stuck with improving.
But his illness started around mid 96 and it went downhill for him from then on. He'd have given Ronnie a run for his money and maybe even changed history if he'd continued improving and competed in the 98 Mr Olympia.

i always liked mike and i always thought that he had the coolest last name in bb'ing
him and jean pierre fux

We continue with 18 new black and white photos of the 1994 Night of Champions. Mike Francois won the show with Nasser El Sonbaty in second. (Everbody in the industry knew that Nasser should have won, but he was a newcomer and for some reason he was placed in second. Nasser won the show in 95). New York is not a very good location for IFBB judging. Many of the worst judging calls in the history of the sport were made in the big apple. Strange..
i believe mucletime didnt write this because they are from team nasser!!.. they just stated a fact from the time of the contest!!

Agree, lmao. I was just making a point about how he was far from having reached his peak by the time he got sick.
And your "Everbody in the industry knew that Nasser should have won" statement is pure hogwash, cause most people didn't contest Mike winning the 94 NOC. For all the people that wanted Nasser to win that contest, there were just as many that had no problem with Mike winning it. Same as the case of the 97 Mr Olympia, where the opinion is divided between Dorian's win and Nasser's placing.

i already said that mike's potential and genetics were better than what he achieved!!..
no need to post the same old comparisons pics of noc 94 or mr. o. 97 but really any one who knows some shit in this sport knows well that nasser should have won these 2 shows!!..
-
yes mike was good, ... but to a certain limit!!
mike does look good in some of the pics posted but nasser blows him away in those shots.
but then nasser is a legend 8)

as i was just saying any one who knows what bodybuilding is knows well that nasser should have beat mike in 94.. and now it's not any one, it's the great FP himself!! ;)

Mike was an incredible bodybuilder, one of the all time greats, very underrated.

Dont know if he would've been mr O, actually doubt it, but there were a lot more shows for him to win

Oh so Muscletime is who you're going by huh? they're the same guys who claimed Heath won this past Olympia with straight firsts ::) they have their opinion and it contradicts that of the judges , so their opinion is worth fuck all because they aren't judges
the FACT of the contest was Nasser lost now everyone is reduced to crying a typical case with El Sonbaty fans
-
as i was just saying any one who knows what bodybuilding is knows well that nasser should have beat mike in 94.. and now it's not any one, it's the great FP himself!! ;)
Again they claimed Levrone won the 92 Olympia and Heath won the 08 they have a pattern of being wrong
The judges ONLY matter

Thats what they're insinuating/saying, but it is actually their opinion.
Sure, some, including Nasser, and his fans thought he was the winner, but others thought Francois was, including the judges.
IMO, coulda gone either way, with Nasser getting the benefit if a tie.
-
but here they were not saying their opinion, they were only stating what was believed by everyone in the industry (fans, critics.. all) in the time of the contest!!..
stop speaking for ' everyone ' seriously . and I don't care if 6 billion people say it they don't count the judges do that's what matters in the end.

arent you the guy who always points to what was mentioned in the old magazines by the "great" experts??.. ok let me play the same game:
just_a_pilgrim wrote before about this contest in the thread (night of champions 94') "..I remember the FLEX magazine article from that show. They totally disagreed with the placings. They said Nasser easily won it, Francois they had 3rd, and a few other screw jobs. )..
i dont have this issue myself so i am referring to the one who wrote it!!.. if you have this issue plz check it..

don't put words in quotations as if I said ' great experts ' on the topic of contests placings NO ONE'S opinion matter except the judges , Flex , Ironman , MD , Muscle & Fitness NONE of them matter
I respect certain peoples opinions more than others but in the end the judges have the final say and a common thread among Nasser fans is he was ' screwed ' MY ASS the reality was he simply wasn't good enough
-
mike was a great bber, but never did that well in the olympia.
he seemed to peak earlier in the year and then loose some of his shape and fullness at the olympia.
check out muscletime in 95 where charlie clairmont is owning him.

ffs!!! Mike is gone, its 2009! He did his thing, I just want someone to tell me if his wife hung around after the body left. anyone know?
no more mike francois this and that, and no more fucking 1980 Mr O. get past it...no, no, ownage either.

"Shit happens".
A damn good and freakishly strong bodybuilder at his prime.

its no surprise you think that way since the keg won far more mr o's than he should have thanks to bad judging :-\
real bodybuilding fans who judge competitions fairly are who the great sherief is talking about. Impartial, fair journalists and industry experts (including many many fans throughout the world) who all agreed about nasser.
-

it's funny that the kid likes the magazines only when there is some dorian's ass licking and uses them as something to be taken for granted, then he cries like a baby and refuses them when they are against his opinions!!..
contradictory guy that dorian boy! ;D

agreed, i think after the brutal ownings he has taken from hulkster and pumpster in the dorian vs ronnie thread, he thought for some reason he could try to start a dorian vs huge nasser war :-\
obviously he'll lose that too - as countless pics have already shown ;D

ha ha ha ha ' real bodybuilding fans ' you mean delusional idiots who don't even know how contests are judged? you're just another fan-boy pissed because Dorian beat your hero
either ALL contests are fixed or no contests are fixed you can't have it both ways . somehow the judges get it right when YOU agree with them but when your hero doesn't win it's politics , it's a fix ::)
-

What is against my opinion? you're not being specific just generalizing ;) and I've always maintained no ones opinion matter's more than the judges and why? they have the final say.
it's guys like YOU who cry fixed when a contest doesn't go your way I don't and never have , I never said Dorian shouldn't have lost to Haney or Momo. either all contests are fixed or none are you can't have it both ways.
-

Oh boy lol I won the truce thread and that's why they chase me around trying to recreate it lol I beat all of those morons using their own hero , case closed
and I never started a Dorian/Nasser war , more pissed off fan-boys did , Nasser cry babies bitching and moaning about 1997 ha ha ha ha like it's some accomplishment even say he did lose , what does that mean? an almost best Nasser ' beat ' Dorian at his absolute worse that my stupid little friend is NO accomplishment it's like Jay ' beating ' Ronnie . At his best Dorian crushes Nasser at his best NO CONTEST the difference is Ronnie actually stood a real chance at beat Dorian , Nasser never did and in the end , Dorian owns your hero ...keep crying it's all you have left ;)
-
He need to stop viewing the world through a pair of nasser undies.
superior back > no back
nasshole loses
in NOC 94 he didn't deserve to beat nasser.. in 95 AC he beat flex who was just back from his injuries after his serious car accident!!.. after this he always came after the big guys.. he never showed his AC 95 shape again i belive.. he never beat guys like levrone or ray or even dillet (he only beat an off kevin at AC 97).. so he was not considered one of the ''very'' best in his era
