Actually I agree with the Eckhart Tolle. Have you read it?
i have read those. Tolle is great. 'A New Awakening' is life changing.
i read 'Think and Grow Rich' after it was recommended to me by Milos Sarcev. not a financial book, but the threories 'The Secret' is based on.
I defy anyone to read the books/audiobooks mentioned and not take something life changing from it if you actually put it in to PRACTICE.
hehehe Debussey knew you'd show up and show your support for Eckhart ;D

Have you read one of his books?
He is neither a good philosopher nor has any profound knowledge of science but the truth reveals itself in his words.

measure of a man by sidney poiter is a good book...
Churchill, Hitler and the Unnecessary War: How Britain Lost its Empire and the West Lost the World by Pat Buchanan.
im reading this right now and its fucking excellent, it challenges much of the common misconseptions regarding WW2 especially the motives and plans of hitler and nazi germany, how everything unfolded and the overratedness of Churchill, who while regarded as one of the greatest men ever really was not.
The Bible...
Only if he's into fiction......some cool stuff in there; people turning into sand statues, people getting whipped, tortured, beaten, stoned, raped. People burning in eternal pits of fire. Talking burning bushes, voices from the sky, a tower so high it almost reaches the heavens, a father who almost kills his son, over his imaginary god telling him to do so. A father who loves his son so much, he sends him down from "heaven" to be crucified and tortured. Oh, did I mention zombies?
(SPOILER)
EVERYBODY DIES IN THE END....AND BURNS FOR ETERNITY! HARRY POTTER THIS AINT.... :'(
Read these books back to back. Not only it will change forever the way you look at the world but you will understand why we act a certain both as individuals and as a group. Understand the "us" as a superorganism:

Tony Robbins - Personal power 2
Eckhart Tolle - The Power of Now
Maxwell Maltz - Psycho Cybernetics
Napoleon Hill - Think and Grow Rich
Dale Carnegie - How to Win Friends and Influence People
::)
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.
lol
Wow, another genius who understands Ayn Rand in and out ::)
Ursus, read "The Fountainhead" - you can't go wrong ;)
its about a fountain?
they would be great replacing my toilet paper for a while.
read any of those?
no
just look at the titles
Personal power 2
The Power of Now
Psycho Cybernetics
Think and Grow Rich
How to Win Friends and Influence People
only an insecure person with low self esteem and lack of willpower would buy these garbage.
"How to win friends" ::), i mean they cant be serious. as if there is a specific "method" of winning friends and growing rich. everyone would be a successful bussinesman just reading these books...... lol
I've read 4 of the 5 and I agree with your assessment on 2 of those 4. The "Power of Now" is a whole different category than the other 4, I can guarantee you that, has nothing to do with how to get "successful". If one is interested in what the methods of successful people are, "Think and Grow Rich" is the one to go for, all others like Robbins etc. are just copy cats who never made any money other than by ripping off Hill. But I agee that just by reading such a book (except of "The Power of Now", which has nothing to do with the others), one does not get successful.
;)
LOL, you may have missed my point.

Sidney Poiter is an actor.yeah famous people tend to write memoirs...
Real Talk...... I highly recommend GATES OF FIRE by Steven Pressfield. It's the book that the movie 300 was based off of.
way of thinking, make me more motivated etc NOT a bbuilding book etc
thanks
pic therefore this thread is BBbuilding related
p.s thats an ornament at my crotch not a minute cock
My experience is this: they all ripped off Hill and added one or two gimmicks or a little bit of pseudo-scientific mumbo jumbo and then claim that's what's so revolutionary about their "method". If you just compare the first few pages of those books, they are almost identical. Same goes for the ending, where they all say how you should forget about all the greediness supported by the book and that what's really important is to help other people and find peace of mind or some hippie crap like that. ;D
The Bible...Perfect book to leave in the toilet, the pages are the perfect size to wipe ya ass with :D

MOST of the books posted here are total crap that only pseudo-intellectuals read and consider profound. In reality only a few of the books listed could ever "Change someone's life" and this is IF you read them right.
If you want a book that will change your life, you must read it correctly, and that book is "The Singularity is Near" by Ray Kurzweil.
Another suggestion would be "Demon Haunted World" by Sagan.
LOL
Kurzweils book = actually pretty good and interesting.
Haven't read either one them, I just LOLd at the tone of the post. ;D
Do you own many books by famous novelists, books with poems about flowers and such?
I like those books about how men can come in contact with their feelings and books with poems written by old people.
Do you own many books by famous novelists, books with poems about flowers and such?I do , great authors by the name of Larry Flynt and Bob Guccione :D :P

Something by Wittgenstein perhaps?
Let's not get crazy now, I'm still trying to figure out at least 1% of "Critique of Pure Reason" and "Phenomenology of Mind". ;D
My days of intense philosophy reading are long gone, nowadays I'm way too lazy.

way of thinking, make me more motivated etc NOT a bbuilding book etcSerious answer, now, J. Read because it brings you pleasure, or it enriches your life, in some way. Don't read something because someone 'insists' you do, or because you feel incumbent to do so. And I have a great suspicion about 'self-help books. I think they probably do as much harm as good. If you're not a reader, that's fine, too. Life is short. Do what makes you happy. :)
thanks
