Real Talk...... I highly recommend GATES OF FIRE by Steven Pressfield. It's the book that the movie 300 was based off of.

good question, im actually looking for the same. sometimes you hear people "wow that book completely changed my life and way of thinking!!"
must suck when i regret later on that i found a book i should have red years earlier to prevent myself from choosing the wrong paths.

im reading this right now and its fucking excellent, it challenges much of the common misconseptions regarding WW2 especially the motives and plans of hitler and nazi germany, how everything unfolded and the overratedness of Churchill, who while regarded as one of the greatest men ever really was not.
