How much money are you talking about, SS?

The amount I'd fight him for wouldn't be worth it for people who promote the fights.

A guy carrying around that much weight is bound to have bad knees, ankles, neck or back. I'd just go for one of those or keep moving for a few minutes until he got tired. :)

In a big PPV event yes it would be
a great experience.
I would lose prob by KO, but it would be
worth it.

In some ghetto backyard no thx.

I sparred against bigger and better groundgame
fighters than Kimbo.
And sparred against smaller but better pro boxers.
They all killed me but I can survive an onslaught
pretty good.
I still hate getting Ko`d and I hate eating
mounted GNP.

Need to get the cardio up, practise running backwards ala
machida like Houston did and pray for a lucky sub
in RD3 when Ferguson is completely gassed.

Kimbos ground game was fine considering he was also rocking the shit out Alexander just with his jabs. That suplex that Kimbo did on him was freaking rediculous, I thought he was going to go through the mat..lol. That's because fighting is Houstons "career" (we're not worried about a loss like someone who has it as a career and have to focus on a gameplan to try edge a win), and maybe he wasn't offered as much as we're demanding.

For 100k+ dollares, i'd do it right now. Don't think neither i nor Bench are worried about losing or never to be invited to the fighting Org again.

I agree....All you here is how Kimbo sucks & is overrated from people....But lets face it even if that was true he's still tougher than 90% of people out there....And lets face it anyone would fight him for the right price...but anyone on GB that says they would for free bareknuckle in the back yard is full of it

man, for even 10k (probably even 5) i would fight him now...Of course i would loose bad, in a beautiful KO but for that money i can receive some punches in the face...

just to add, i would shoot for his leg to put him down in the first 0,01 second of fight. Never would trade punches with him

A well placed overhand right, some open handed chops to the chest and then apply the figure-four......tap out in under 30 seconds. Whooooooooooo !!!

If I fought evil, mentally unstable guys, like Alexander Emanelienko,
a young Tyson or even a young Tank A, I would be scared.

An enraged Alistair O or angry prime CC/JLB would scare me too.
They could cut off my head.

Kimbo is a small HW with a decent chin and boxing.
Weak 1punch KO power and very bad JJ.

I don't get it, Is the beard scary?
Or the hype?

Even a big college wrestler can hold him down for 3Rd's

Kimbo cant beat any of the current HW´s in UFC, he is too small and
too unskilled.
They had to bring in an undersized LHW

Kimbo is not in the league of NONE of the guys that you said, and probably never will....

this isnt a question on how good he is or will be...it is if someone has the guts to face him (thinking about us here on the forum... ;D )

like i said, for some money i would yes...i would loose, probably under 2 minutes (if not in the first punch), but i would face him. Of course i would be dead scared, but that wouldnt stop me to fight him...

now, for free sorry but i wouldnt  :-[

Actually, i'd be scared to fight a prime Igor Vovchanchyn or a Coleman from the era when headbutts on the ground was allowed.

That would be some serious braindamage and no money would be worth it.

Someone can break his arm/ foot or put him to sleep. who knows?

The real question is are you as good a striker as he is? do you have that kind of knockout power?

keep in mind this guy's a jacked 240, not a little 170lb jiu jitsu guy...  now, I'm not sure how big you are, but for most men, that's a good size opponent.. the other problem is you have to be able to get him down to get a sub or arm bar/kimura/whatever... during which I'm sure he's gonna be raining big double XL fists into your head and face like it's goddamn christmas, and considering he was under Bas Rutten's tutelage for a good 2 years, he knows how to avoid takedown's... see what I'm saying ?

I'm not saying somebody can't sub him, but he knows to look out for subs and singles or doubles.. so it's obvious he'd be trying his best to take your head off in the process.

I just can't figure out Houston.

They brought him in just to see some explosiveness and someone who wanted to Bang (watch Houstons earlier fights, he always brings it/there's always a KO), and then he does this?

Not like UFC is ever going to bring him back after that performance, what was he thinking?

They must've offered him quite a bit for him to waltz like that.

It is rumored that Thiago Silva KOed Kimbo in practice at ATT.  A good striker with well rounded skills will eat him for lunch.  Shogun, Lyoto, Anderson, heck even Forrest rocked him when Kimbo was training at Xtreme Couture for a time.  He is a one dimensional fighter with heavy hands and is a draw.  According to Bas, he hadn't learned much from his two years.  (This is the reason for the split), not to mention Bas wasn't known for his takedown defense, and HE IS A MUCH BETTER STRIKER than Kimbo.  Randy Kitani did more of Kimbo's training than Bas did.

Bas claims Kimbo have LD(learning disorder).
I almost believe him.
Kimbo started training MMA more than 2years ago.

He got his usual headmovement and boxing prob 10years ago.

Almost no improvement in any area, not even cardio.
His groundgame is worse than a first year BJJ/wrestling student.

Bas said Kimbo cannot learn anything, he just wants to get paid.

However, it is interesting to see the Kimbo media circus.

god damnit you're stuoid.

Im sure you can prove when bas said that? Because I remember he said the exact oposite in an interview. And rashad/rampage said the Exact opposite on the show also.

and he looked SUPER IMPROVED in his last fight on the ground, stayed calm, didn't panic.

obviously needs more training though. It takes years and years to become a good BJJ unless your name is bj prenn.

Houston and Kimbo have the worst groundgame in UFC.

I know, Bas is all about the money, he hyped Kimbo 2007.

Fact remains Kimbo did not learn any ground game in 2years
and Bas calls Kimbo a lazy retard who is unable to listen or learn.

On the other hand, modern MMA have passed Bas
and he may not be a good trainer anymore.

Bas did an interview to clear the air awhile back.  It was on every major MMA website.  He cited Kimbo's newly acquired work ethic.  When asked if he wanted to work takedown defense (against Shamrock), Kimbo told him it ain't going to the ground.  This started the divide between Bas and Kimbo.  If you search for it, you can find it.  I believe him losing to Seth was the best thing, prior to that, he was believing the Elite XC hype.  He maybe willing to learn (he did tuck his ego and go to ATT), but he is long in the tooth, has an arthritic knee and has one, maybe two years left to make his bread.  Willingness to learn is not equal to an acquired skill.  By your own analogy, it takes years and years to become good.  Demian Maia got his BB in four years, Saulo Ribeiro in 3.5, what most don't know is these guys were training two to three times a day, DAILY.  It is doubtful if Kimbo can devote that much time, or is willing to.  The minute he fights a very good wrestler, he will be done.  And I don't think he will have acquired a dangerous guard anytime soon.

Randy Kitani did most of Kimbo's training, Bas did fight prep and cornered him.

Who can Kimbo fight in the heavys that won't destroy his image?  Cain would take him down and TKO him.  Carwin could KO him on their feet or take him down and finish him.  Kongo, way too big and too superior at striking.  Mir, would sub him easily.  Nog would take him anywhere he wanted, who is left for him to fight, other than his TUF alumn who he couldn't beat?

you just named four of the top ten fighters in the heavyweight division...I know this is a bodybuilding forum but I sometimes wonder why I even bother posting about MMA on here as most people cant name any fighters besides the champs or the main title contenders....not saying you personaly per se but why would you bring up just the guys that are in contention for the title....1 fight in the UFC & he should go up against a top 5 or top 10 guy?

you just named four of the top ten fighters in the heavyweight division...I know this is a bodybuilding forum but I sometimes wonder why I even bother posting about MMA on here as most people cant name any fighters besides the champs or the main title contenders....not saying you personaly per se but why would you bring up just the guys that are in contention for the title....1 fight in the UFC & he should go up against a top 5 or top 10 guy?

heres some heavyweights...yea some might kill him...but theres others that would be good matchups...

Al Turk  Mostapha  6-5-0  6' 2" (188 cm) 242 (110 kg)
Barry  Pat  5-1-0  5' 11" (180 cm) 235 (107 kg)
Buentello  Paul  25-10-0  6' 2" (188 cm) 235 (107 kg)
Ciesnolevicz  Mike  18-4-1  6' 1" (185 cm) 230 (104 kg)
Cro Cop  Mirko  25-7-2, 1 NC  6' 2" (188 cm) 220 (100 kg)
Dos Santos  Junior  9-1-0  6' 4" (193 cm) 238 (108 kg)
Duffee  Todd  6-0-0  6' 3" (191 cm) 260 (118 kg)
Eilers  Justin  9-5-1  6' 1" (185 cm) 235 (107 kg)
Frazier  Zane  0-2-0  6' 6" (198 cm) 230 (104 kg)
Gonzaga  Gabriel  11-4-0  6' 1" (185 cm) 242 (110 kg)
Gordeau  Gerard  2-1-0  6' 5" (196 cm) 215 (98 kg)
Gormley  Chase  6-0-0  6' 3" (191 cm) 265 (120 kg)
Gracie  Rolles  3-0-0  6' 4" (193 cm) 240 (109 kg)
Hague  Tim  10-2-0  6' 4" (193 cm) 265 (120 kg)
Hardonk  Antoni  8-6-0  6' 4" (193 cm) 245 (111 kg)
Herring  Heath  28-14-0  6' 4" (193 cm) 250 (113 kg)
Kongo  Cheick  24-5-1  6' 4" (193 cm) 240 (109 kg)
Rothwell  Ben  30-7-0  6' 4" (193 cm) 265 (120 kg)
Russow  Mike  12-1-0, 1 NC  6' 1" (185 cm) 255 (116 kg)
Smith  Patrick  4-2-0  6' 2" (188 cm) 225 (102 kg)
Struve  Stefan  22-3-0  6' 11" (211 cm) 238 (108 kg)
Tuchscherer  Chris  17-2-0, 1 NC  6' 1" (185 cm) 260 (118 kg)

Anyone can cut and paste.  You do realize that on this list, there are fighters who have died, fighters who have retired, and fighters who have not fought since the first UFC.  And on that second list is a list of light heavys.  A class that Kimbo has no chance of cutting to.

On the heavyweight list, Berry, Dos Santos, Napao, Hardonk, Herring are all bad matchups for Kimbo.  Frazier, Gordeau, Pat Smith haven't fought in the UFC in decades, Smith is the only active fighter.  Rothwell would be good, but he would wear down Kimbo.  Buentello as well.  Kimbo is a great draw, but he isn't anywhere near top tier.

he weighed in for Saturdays fight at 212lbs 7 lbs from light heavy....yea real impossible to cut down 7 more lbs in the next few months if a chance to fight at light heavy came...& yea I cut & pasted & didn't bother 2 go threw and take out the names of some old fighters on the list...big deal...the point I was making is there are plenty of other fighters outside of the same 4-5 everyone keeps naming over & over..

Haha yes, i almost choked on my coffee when i saw those flipkicks the first time. Didn't he manage to hit one person with them in the earlier stage of the tournament?

Also, check out Patrick Smith VS Scott Morris.

LOL...I think that was the one UFC where the ref would look to the corner to see if they were throwing in the towl before stopping the match....

So you would basically you would have Patrick Smith throwing 10 or so elbows in a row to a knocked out guy on the mat...Fcuking brutal back then.....

He opined that the cut inhibited his endurance.  Thats the reason for the catchweight.  He walks in the 225-230 and isn't heavy or fat.  Even at 205, too many bad matchups.  Couple this with the fact that Kimbo's fight with got as high a Nielsen rating as the Fedor/Rogers.  They need to build Kimbo to keep the viewership, espcecially with Brock, Anderson and Lyoto on the shelf.  He is one dimensional, and a lot of folks in either class "outclass" him in striking.  He is the UFC's most marketable fighter other the above named and BJ Penn.  If he is to be on the main card, he will have to matchup with another name fighter.
