I gotta be honest as a musician... this band is wretched, none of them can play their instruments, the singer is completely out of key and the guitar is out of tune, production sounds like something put together by a bunch of 9th graders...

That band blows, the songs sound like 12 year old's wrote them, and the singing and instrumental work is beyond funny, you want to be a good girlfriend to the guy get him some guitar lessons and the singer...well just get a new singer, this guy's screeching is hurting my brain.

is unpleased with girls with muscles on hormones, has to do with a deep psychic problem while growing up. probably abused by their father, and the girls feel the need to make up for it by getting stronger, bodybuilding is not natural, you sit on a machine and perform repetitions, acting like robots. i dont hate on female juicers, but they need to be adressed on it for looking manly.

There is not an iota of doubt in my mind that they suck. Captain Equipoise's post was spot on.

I really don't think the music is too bad. It is a dated 80's sound and the mixing gives head but the singer sucks. He makes the whole band sound bad...REALLY bad. I mean come on. Anyone that listens to music would know that. If any of you getbig musicians need some vocals send me the song so I can give it a go. no bullshit here. I also play guitar but only rhythm. Maybe we can get signed with the same company as Lucid Delusion....lol. Influences are Sebastian Bach, Robert Plant (led zep years)

Did anyone actually listen to the lyrics of that song? Are they 14 year old highschool students that have to rhyme random words for passing grades? And that lead singer,...what in the name of Mars were they thinking letting him sing? He's fuking brutal, I thought someone was playing a joke with that voice til I realized it was serious.
This band will go nowhere. They suck. That is a fact, accept it and move on. Well at least the singer sucks, I dont know dick about instruments so I cant comment on that.

Not impressed: change starts as a poorly executed metallica rip-off, and the timing is off as well. Regardless of song-writing, this band's members will definately need to get in tune with each other more.

I'm really not trying to stir up the pot, I went on their site with an open mind (albeit one of a hobby musician) I've studied theory and scales for a good 5 years so I think I am a pretty decent judge of natural talent and ability since I play mostly very technical guitar stuff (ie. Dream Theater, Symphony X)
but these guys honestly suck, they just don't have it.. the singer is horrendous, the instrument are out of tune and sometimes out of pitch and time (between the bass and drums) it's just really poorly done, I was playing songs better then this crap in grade 8 for talent show..
Jade if you can't hear how bad it really is, you're either head over heels in love or tone deaf, either way..play it to some of your friends (friends that can be critical and honest with you) and you'll see what we're all talking about.

This is the problem. They probably play shows primarily for friends and family.
If they were to open for a band with an actual following, they would surely experience the combination of apathy and hostility that would send them scrambling to Walmart to fill out applications.

You're on the right track! With the new talent, drummer and singer, the band is sure to be so much different from how the original group was, so you might want to consider a name change.
You'll get some wisecracks here but I'm sure there are some Getbiggers who could come up with some great names for y'all.

A record label's main value was in its ability to press a large number of units and distribute them. That business model is completely dead. Why? Everyone downloads their music. It's so much easier then anyone thinks.. the best tip I can tell you is if you learn what the notes are on the frets you will see they repeat in patterns, also in something called octaves (height of pitch) so you will get the same note (G) 3rd fret low E string as you will on 5th fret D string and so on..once you know that form chords all over the fretboard.
Same with chords, everything repeats in patterns, it's all a numbers game.
Plus with the internet now there are so many tutorials, lessons, chords, scales, etc. resources online to learn from for free, there are online metronome's (to play in time) even backing tracks you can jam with or solo over.

Ahhh... I remember getting over that hump.. there's a few tricks.. it takes a lot less to get over it then you think, you have to grip the string hard enough to make a clean sound when you pluck it with your right hand, you don't need to hold it any harder, pick a really simple song you like (ideally ACDC or something) and just practice those 3 chords over and over, if you can do it for a couple of days you will get over the hump.
Here's an easy one to start off on
AC/DC Back in Black
E DDD AAA

then just pull off 3rd fret E string, 3rd fret B string 2nd fret G string
(pull off from the note to open)
high E is the bottom (thinnest) string, B is the next one up, G is the third one up.

Hey Cap do you use Guitar Rig? That is one add on that just kicks ass by itself or using it as a plug in with Sonar or whatever you use. I highly recommend it.

That was kind of what I meant for Groink, if he learns 3-4 basic chords he will not only get his fingering down but also be able to play thousands of classic rock songs :D that's how I started out on the guitar, once you know A, C, D, E , G you're pretty much set
As far as guitar rig.. Sometimes, but I have a lot of high end gear I spent wayyy too much on, so if I want to play through an ENGL or Mesa Boogie I just play the real thing... I do use it ocasionally though if I'm too lazy to re-amp or it's 3 am and I'm bored recording in my home studio, also use amplitube sometimes :) pro tools has some great plugins as well, I only really use pro tools and cubase but when I was younger I went through most of the recording software out there.

I guess lucid delusion has a large budget considering they're commissioning Giger for artwork.... you know artwork from someone of Giger's repertoire can be a good $20,000 , more if used as an album cover, considering no name artist's pay around $10,000-15,000 for cover art.

Ironically, the band I recommended, on page one of the thread, close to 6 years ago, is doing quite well.
Over this past Summer, the London Souls opened for Lenny Kravitz, Billy Idol, and Catfish and The Bottlemen.
If you're not familiar with Catfish, they're currently the hottest young band in England and are drawing comparisons to Oasis and Coldplay. The tour was in venues which hold 4-5k, and they sold out every show. :)
