Post by: BIG ACH on May 05, 2010, 06:40:25 PM

Anyone wear them?   I wanna start.  Wondering where one would get a nice pair without breaking the bank?  what are the normal price range?

Start with these first
http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/templates/P9.jhtml?itemId=cat6750735&parentId=cat000550&masterId=cat000470&cmCat= (http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/templates/P9.jhtml?itemId=cat6750735&parentId=cat000550&masterId=cat000470&cmCat=)

then work your way o the Cowboy boots. I have only seen one dude who could rock some cowboy boots from the DC area. He was a black dude from PG county it was in college. It helped that he was prettier than  Prince and rocked Banana Repub, Polo, Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren and Structure, it didn't help that he was a Jesus freak---this man could have pulled soo much cooter, but women got turned off by him talking about the Bible for 2 hours

Coincidently, he was the one who help me start a addiction to high quality 1/18 scale car models.

Cowboy bots are designs for horseriding.

Walking and especially running in them is very uncomfortable. Forget about playing sports in them.

They have become kind of like high heels for men.

I would only wear them if I was wroking on a ranch or something. Otherwise I would feel like a total poser.

I'm a fan of cowboy boots, if you find the right pair, they're actually quite nice for day to day wear. My advice is to find a nice pair of the plainer "Wellington" type. They wear well, still look good broken in, and are subtle enough to be worn in a variety of circumstances. You want to becareful with the exotic skins and boots with a lot of fancy leather work(overlays, tooling, etc....). Some folks can pull off wearing them, others look like a giant bag of douche.

If you live in southern Cal the ONLY place to go to buy boots is Tijuana.  There is a store there that has boots made from every skin you can think of.  It is unreal in this place.  And you get great deals.  Back in the 80's they would cost between $80 and $1200

Tres Outlaws if you want the ABSOLUTE best.  I consider them to be high art.

They are the ONLY place Arnold himself will go to get boots made.

You WILL pay a pretty penny, afterall they do have some that cost around 75,000 to even 150 grand.

 This is true.

Nowadays in the US there's this huge gay cowboy scene going on. In western cities across the US there are country-western themed gay bars popping up all over. There are like 10 of them in Denver and a bunch of them in Phoenix.

So you all have fun wearing those cowboy boots....

Wow!  Lots of replies.  Sorry I didn't respond earlier, had to go and pick up my wife from the airport.

Newmom, I want to wear them with Jeans and a T-shirt or something like that (Maybe I can pull an Arnold and wear them with suits LOL).

Johnnynoname,  I don't have that car anymore with the BIG ACH plates :-( wish I did, and yes I normally shop from tacky.com - don't you know its the shit LOL   I plan to buy another motorcycle soon, will put BIG ACH on that when I get it!

Honestly I'm interested in having two pairs, one black one (maybe patterned) and one snake skin/patterned (whitish/greyish)

I will probably get the black ones first, and later on get the snake patterned ones.  I just really don't want to break the bank though!  Been spending so much on other shit like surround sound, etc lol

I've just always liked the way they looked since I was a kid, just never went out and got them.  I know many of you think they look cheezy thats fine, but i've always loved them!  No other way about it!

What's with pointy toed shoes?  Who has a pointy foot?
that is a lady's boot or formal western wear fashion...work boots are a more rounded toe style

yes i wear some. I prefer harness boots more tho.
Take it for a Texan.
When buying boots, plan on spending at least $400- 500 on them, they will last a long time, and the cheap ones hurt and just suck. I recommend luccheses. Don't buy them on line either, go to cavenders or your local boot store and tired them on.

there is a significant difference between jeans from the gap or banana republic...........and  a premium denim vendor like 'true religion', 'rock and republic', 'antique denim' or in this case Diesel

i know you will say, "jeans are jeans"

but the difference is night and day between the quality, stitching , material, fit, and overall look.......diesel has some real awesome fits

go to a diesel store.....there is one in georgetown (your from DC right)  and have the 110lb gay kid at the denim counter show you some different styles and sizes........if you get a pair of diesel jeans in the right size....it feel s like they are customized to fit your body....

I have no doubt that Diesel jeans (or any other premium ones), are of better quality, stitching etc.

But will they really Look that much better?

Also Will they really fit well? - I ALWAYS have a hard time finding jeans that fit well, be it banana rep. or the gap... the waist always fits fine but its always super tight on the quads (and my quads aren't even that big).

I'll be honest though, I'm not gonna go drop $200 on diesel jeans, I can afford it, but I really just don't feel comfortable doing that, at least not at the moment, same with some of the cowboy boots that some of you guys were posting up....  the max I was planning on paying for those boots right now was $100... down the line i will buy a decent $500 pair aligators or something, but right now, I'm living with in my means and saving as much as I can!

Reconditioning.  Resoling. Coloring.

These are the boots that Linemen and oil workers of the present and distant past wore.

You can renew their boots decades old and they come back brand new.  (they need next to no work)

With a continuous tradition reaching back to 1750, we are the oldest-established handmade bespoke boot and shoemakers in London and still make boots and shoes on-site at 83 Jermyn Street.

Great skill and craftsmanship are required to make the finest bespoke boots and few are now equipped to undertake the task. Our makers have decades of experience, ensuring that the quality, style and fit of our product are in the highest echelons of this trade.

We also repair and refurbish boots, shoes and other high quality leather goods.

Our sister company W.S. Foster & Son have a strong following for ready-to-wear English shoes, briefcases, luggage etc. and also offer a bespoke leather goods service.

Henry Maxwell was founded in 1750 and is the oldest of the remaining bootmakers in London. Originally a famous spur-maker (you can see Maxwell's spur collection at 83 Jermyn Street), Maxwell thrived on the ubiquitous use of the horse for battle, ceremony, hunting, sport and personal transport, and ultimatly supplied boots for cavalry regiments, hunting, polo etc. By the mid 19th century the firm was prospering internationally and was awarded the first of its many Royal Warrants by King George IV.

Last pair of shoes I bought were at Aldos, no complaints as far as comfort. Style is subjective of course.

Big ACH you look like a dude that these will work on. not cowboy boots. you wear with jeans and a t shirt and they are great for riding in. waterproof and take a great shine.

i have purchased numerous pairs of shows from ALDO, and have never had a problem with their quality

as a matter of fact, i would go as far as to say, that for the price, they are actually a much higher quality shoe then the dollar amount would suggest

i have also bought shoes from brands like mark nason and gucci, and ALDO shoes fit, feel, look, and hold up not all that much different.....

Well technically it was only like 3 pages of cowboy boots and the rest were about Aldo boots LOL

Well, I walked around the mall a little today after watching Ironman 2 in IMAX, even went into an Aldo LOL, couldn't find any cowboy boots.  I'm thinking about ordering online but I was really hesitant to do that because I would've wanted to try them on before buying, but I guess I can just ship em back if they don't fit right!

Not at Aldo, my wife bought a pair of boots and they weren't stocked in her size so they mailed them. They didn't fit right and I called the store to ask about the return policy and they said only store credit, no refunds.

Yeah, I'll have to check the return policy before I place the order.  Still have a few places that I think I'll check out before I order online though!
