I have decided to put my reputation on the line to educate getbig on what science has to teach us about bodybuilding.
josh has been desperate to challenge people on this site to help motivate him to get in shape. While i myself have suffered with a combination of various bodybuilding experiments, injuries, greed and laziness.

times have changed however i am now 100% happy with both my workout routine and diet, and while all roads lead to Rome - some are easier / more pleasant than others - this is what i will prove by taking up this challenge.
I propose josh and i both post starting pics - relaxed, front double bi, and most muscular ( in underwear - no homo), along with weight and measurements.
I also propose josh and i both post our diet and training logs - in the nutrition and training sections of getbigs boards. to detail exactly what we are doing.
if he agrees to these conditions i am happy to start at a date if his choosing.
i propose Feb 1st as the end date to this comp - it is a while away, but there is also Xmas, thanksgiving etc etc in between.
i also have a stag in Krakow, weddings, nights out with lots of lovely ladies to attend.
this challenge will show that it is possible to enjoy yourself, and still get in shape.
i hope you all enjoy this, it will be interesting if nothing else.

i just posted a pic of me at my worse ever condition - 2 years of no workouts, no regard to diet - bad rotator injuries will do that to you :(
i have nothing to lose.
i try to educate getbiggers in what the latest science says regarding workouts and diet - many here ignore my advice for some reason.

bodybuilding used to be about having fun while getting fit and strong. i will prove that that can be done, by anyone even an obese, blah blah blah

team nasser admires one of the greatest bodybuilders that ever lived - a man that radiates intellect and has a physique to match.
nasser is a huge insperation to myself and the team members.
i will not let him or the team down.

This is a good thing for fatpanda to do. I actualy think there are more getbiggers on this site with sad physiques (no meaness intended) than there are of ones that actually look like bodybuilders. I mean how many getbiggers actually turn heads in real life???
Ursus, honour, mindspin, mobil, meso78 and a few others. The rest of you know who you are and should use this as motivation to get on the road to recovery now. And remember to enjoy the journey because the destination is only half the fun.

i'm in - what start date would you like ? sunday the 29th ok ?
measurements i feel we should include are:
1. waist at belly button point
2. chest
3. bis
4. quads
5. calves
6. forearms
cm's ok for the measurement ? lbs ok for weight ?
If you are agreed, on sunday the 29th, we both post the following pics:
1. standing relaxed
2. front double bi
3. most muscular
4. rear double bi
we both post the measurements mentioned above.
we both start diet logs and record every meal (grams of protein, carbs and fat )and daily calorie level we consume. ( we both use fit day so this should be fine)
we both start training logs and record every set and exercise we do , (weights, reps and sets of all).
we can record both here in this thread to keep things local. perhaps ron would make this a sticky ?
also i propose we leave the thread here to allow the getbig gimmicks and regular posters alike to abuse us/amuse us.
also - if you are still getting help from disgusted on diet etc training etc it should be declared here in advance.

Who ever has their Nutrient Timing down pat, will win. They both need to know their bodies and when to feed them. Melvin "YODA" Goodrum lost a considerable amount of fat. Maybe they should "consult" with Melvin even though every person is different, he might be able to direct them in the right path in order to get them a "Goodrum" physique.

I just dont want to post my workout--its different than standard and putting it public may squash my self esteem even more and push me to go back to a standard bodybuilding routine---i'll think about it

for example you could be doing nothing but cardio and popping dnp like they are candy- with zero regard for mass maintenance.
meanwhile i'm trying to balance mass /fat loss by lifting, cardio diet.
how will the judges see it - conditioning > mass retention etc

i have also been much heavier - over 280 ( fat with loads of muscle)
i year ago i was fat with no muscle.

Fatpanda, I'm not sure what to say. I am happy to see you guys motivated to compete with each other to get in shape, but I just don't see how you could have ever been in shape like you claim. I'm on a journey to get back to my former self as well so I'm not trying to degrade you as we all go through shit sooner or later that takes our focus off weights. My point is that it doesn't seem you ever had that as a focus in the past. Anyway, I'm rooting for you both and have the threads saved to favorites cuz I'm sure it will be entertaining. also your logic is flawed - any food that produces high insulin levels could be advantageous during calorie deficit due to its effects on cortisol, and its protein sparring/synthesis effects. however I'm sure you knew that right ::)
For the record ( and the simpletons) i do not recommend donuts over potatoes. There are much more micronutrients is a natural unprocessed food like potato rather than a refined food like donuts.

A parallel-design, randomized 12-wk controlled feeding trial with a 24-wk follow-up phase was conducted to test the hypothesis that a hypocaloric diet designed to reduce the glycemic load and the glycemic index would result in greater sustained weight loss than other hypocaloric diets. Obese subjects (n = 29) were randomly assigned to 1 of 3 diets providing 3138 kJ less than estimated energy needs: high glycemic index (HGI), low glycemic index (LGI), or high fat (HF). For the first 12 wk, all food was provided to subjects (feeding phase). Subjects (n = 22) were instructed to follow the assigned diet for 24 additional weeks (free-living phase). Total body weight was obtained and body composition was assessed by skinfold measurements. Insulin sensitivity was assessed by the homeostasis model (HOMA). also your logic is flawed - any food that produces high insulin levels could be advantageous during calorie deficit due to its effects on cortisol, and its protein sparring/synthesis effects. however I'm sure you knew that right ::)
For the record ( and the simpletons) i do not recommend donuts over potatoes. There are much more micronutrients is a natural unprocessed food like potato rather than a refined food like donuts.
however calorie wise (and fat loss wise) a calorie IS a calorie ;)
and yes the GI index does mean nothing - calories are what count.

It'll allow people to register and log in with either their Facebook, Google, or Twitter account without filling out a bunch of bullshit. Kevin Levorne is using the same thing for his site.
