yup, with Naseem and Gerald Mclellan not far behind. Also Foreman hit harder but Tyson was more explosive.

You gotta be kidding putting Naseem in the same breath as Tyson. He was very good, but not in Tyson's league. Tyson was a small heavy weight rocking guys that outweighed him by 40 lbs+
-
Thanks for posting that, reminds everyone what a weak ass hw division Tyson "dominated". ::)
-

have you seen Gerald lately , he was an asshole but still feel bad for him
-
With two lumps growing on his head like horns, the just-knocked-out-and-revived Larry Holmes said that Shavers hit harder than Tyson. I believe him.
What Tyson had was accuracy and explosiveness like no other heavyweight I've seen.
-
Tyson is no doubt one of the best power punchers ever, but the BEST is David Tua.
And yes, Tua would've beaten Tyson in his prime. Tua handled Holyfield during their sparring sessions in prepartion for Tyson.

Don't make me laugh!
NO WAY would Tua have beaten Tyson in his prime. Tyson was on another whole different level, in terms of skill, fitness, aggressiveness, and ruthlessness. Tua packed a strong punch for sure, and he has a thick Samoan skull which makes him hard to knock out. But he is nowhere near the class of Tyson in his prime.
PS - I have seen both of them in action, and actually met both of them. Both are actually really nice guys.

Tua fought much better competiton and beat better competiton.
Hasim Rahman, Michael Moorer, Fres Oquendo, Chris Byrd, Ike Ibeabuchi, Oleg Maskaev, David Izon, John Ruiz.

Probably the strongest puncher ever recorded, ca. 1985 by Ivan Drago (2000+psi)

Che, have you read the book "War, baby"? It's all about Benn v McCllellen and the aftermath of the fight - it doesn't paint Gerald in the best light.

Archie Moore's record of 131 ko's deffo puts him in the running.

Sad to see now. After Cus died he started falling apart and Don King stepped in to take his money. Tyson is still a child at mind and heart.

I saw him on Oprah the other day crying his fucking eyes out every two seconds trying to explain his failed marriages and "supposed" rape charges.... :o

If we're talking punching power and nothing more, then Fedor Emelianenko is probably the hardest puncher ever. Technically, his stand-up sucks, but his raw power is sick.

max baer and his brother
i dont know if i spelt his name right, and frankly i don't really care

Fedor!? :D Maybe most hardest hitting bar brawler

Yeah when you're a noob to MMA it looks like a brawl doesn't it?
Tyson was good, but be dodged Lennox Lewis in his prime and never saw the best of what the communist east had to offer.

I'm not a noob, boob. Fedor throws looping haymakers because MMA fighters can get away with stupid sloppy shit like that because they aren't technically sound. Putting Fedor and tyson in the same breath is ludicrous

His unorthodox style draws from sambo. You can't seem to make the distinction that they are separate sports.

Sure it does. I don't care if it draws from your ass. If you think Fedor is as hard a hitter as Tyson you need to get your eyes checked.

this is boxing, not bodybuilding.

Look, Fedor's striking derives from an established discipline with a successful history, and is technical in regard to that discipline.
He's mastered the sambo casting punch like no other and is a 4-time world champion - far from a sloppy bar brawler.
OK?

granted. Just in comparison to Tyson's ultra crisp and technical punching ability, no MMA fighter compares.

The Hammer is an idiot - Tyson would have had fun with Tua it would nt have been close, but the hardest puncher ever was Foreman
-

12 rounds and 10 counts are fucking horrible to your brain
"me might just be tired" the commentators are fucking retarded wtf?

I feel sorry for Gerald, but he was a horrible cunt.
Nigel was unstoppable that night (if you ignore the fact that McClellan wrapped his own hands and Nigel getting pushed back into the ring by the commentators.) and definitely one of the hardest men ever to step into the ring.
-
I can't imagine not feeling bad for someone in that condition, but then again if Floyd was ever made into a human vegetable in the same fashion i would not pity him at all ..
-
Truth is in a street fight, tyson bare Knuckles would have knocked out anyone on earth at that time, he was way to fast and way to quick for anyone to land a punch first
-
I miss those days :-[
great Video
-
Some great punches being thrown in the Mike and Laura thread.
-
This guy could also hit pretty hard..... :)

Sad video .
I had a brain injury and I was in comma for two weeks just like Gerald , once I got better I did everything possible to go back to boxing and turn PRO (even going to Mexico and South America ) didn't listen to my family or doctors .
Looking back now I'm so glad it didn't work out.

Tyson at his prime was extremely impressive and capable. But: he also was relatively short and light for a heavy weight. Against today's much taller and heavier champs, he would have had a lot more difficulty fighting his way. Things have changed.
What unfortunately hasn't changed is the fact that in 2010 these heavyweight "champs" still fight very few fights per year. Sometimes once or twice every 12 months. Such a shame. K1 heavyweight champs have to fight THREE fights in one evening to win a Best-of-eight tournament. Heavyweights that fight so rarely are not worth the title of "Champ" imo. They seem to avoid fighting?
(I also think there are several tall and big K1 and MMA athletes that could mean trouble for Klitschko. Alas they will never meet each other in a boxing-rules fight).

Today's heavyweights are a joke. Tyson would have KO'd Klit within 3 rounds. Tyson fought several very tall heavyweights and rarely fought someone who was close to his shortness.

Have you ever even watched Fedor? Have you watched his brother Aleksander? You seem to speak like you don't know what you're talking about.

I've seen Fedor fight about 5-4 times and enough to know he's not in Tyson's league when speaking of punching power or technique. Only a moron or MMA fan boy would think so. Which are you?

Chuck Liddell punches harder than Fedor .
Hope this helps .

I'm not a boxing expert, but what I have seen of Tyson, he always struggled with opponents who were considerably taller than him. True.

punching up takes away power unless its an uppercut
-
Kind of a naive question, but what is it about aging the makes someone of Tyson's caliber less lethal in his older years?
Is it mainly a degradation of speed, power, endurance or aggression/motivation? Or is it a combo of everything?
-

You've seen him fight? 5 or 4 times? Watch him training boxing the guy is a technical specimen. If you don;t think so you're a fucking retard.

Cuz you've been hit by either of them. ::) You fuckin nutsack shut the fuck up.
-
sonny liston would destroy that little midget tyson. so would big george and frazier
-
mike tyson was and is the most explosive power puncher EVER
-
Tyson looked good against washed up fighters and nobodies.
Name Tyson's biggest win.
Tyson fought in the weakest era of heavyweights ever (80's) while Tua was being groomed as a champion during the strongest era of heavyweights (90's). Tyson was fed tomato cans until he fought Holyfield.
Anyone saying Tyson could beat Tua, read the reports outta Holyfield's training camp for Tyson! Tua was brought in as a Tyson prototype and Holyfield was getting knocked around the ring. Holyfield goes on to beat Tyson easily.
Tyson also loses to Ibeabuchi. He can't fight past 6 rounds.
Best Heavyweight Fight in Boxing History!
-
Mike Tyson not only hit hard but he excecuted the punch combos in the right way .This was complied with amazing foot work and head movement, nevertheless it would be a suicide to fight Mike tyson inside.

The most devestating puncher in the history of mankind is Laura Lee, she has been delivering some descent shots. Slowly taken "Superman" Mike apart, playing with him, with a sick surgical style, not unlike a AMG mechanic taking apart a engine, or Dr. Ben Carson doing brain surgery...
-
Hammer showing off his lack of brains in this thread ....as usual
-

I'm not the fuking retard that is putting his technical punching ability in the same league as tyson. ::)

Are you fucking joking? John Ruiz, David Izon and Chris Byrd are top competition?
Hasim Rahman landed one lucky punch against Lennox Lewis and other than that did shit his entire career.
Oleg Maskaev? ::)

Fuck I can't even say that Tyson hits harder than Avidan.
Hahha , great logic there ,retard.
