sigh......wrong again, 3333..aren't you tired of getting your ass whipped by Obama???.....rebels take Ghadafi compound...Ghadafi on the run....rebels victorious.....I kept telling you that it would happen and that it was only a minor setback that Ghadafi was not ousted right away......
now you and fuckface are going to try and spin this into a loss for Obama somehow....can't wait to see how you guys twist your brains to pull that off...
OBAMA VICTORIOUS AGAIN!!!!

Cheer for what, you pathetic Obama dicksucker?
Cheer that the Eurotrash imperialists get their oil and we get footed with a multi-billion dollar bill? Oil has been falling for weeks, thus indicating that Libya wasn't the cause for price increases and all the QE is.
Cheer that we gifted an entire country to a group of people who, per capita, sent more fighters to Iraq to kill Americans than any other region on the planet?
Cheer that yet another Arab state has fallen to radical Islamists who have countless jihadists intermixed in their ranks?
Cheer for a group people who, on video, are shown beheading one of Gadhafi's soldiers they captured and who are also responsible for the mass graves an English paper found?
Cheer that Obama has allied himself with mass-murderers of Americans?
Cheer that Obama has given millions of dollars, training and weapons to people who want to kill Americans?
Only a real group of assholes would defend this as some sort of accomplishment. Thanks for not letting me down, clown. Allying yourselves with Al Qaeda and other jihadists just to find something to cheer about for Obama's presidency. How disgustingly shallow and pathetic. Warmongering c*nts.
FUCK YEAH FOR "Days, not weeks" = six months against a joke of an army! Fuck yeah!
No wonder you're a 50-something-year-old college student.

Why are we involved in a war when we have all these problems here?
How much of our own money did we spend? How many hundreds of millions?

We don't even know who the rebels are for gods sake. Some are al quadea , some are rag tag idealists, etc.

38% approval rating!
Obama supposedly was "victorious" in Egypt too. Of course, the new regime makes Mubarak look like a cub scout.
So, what assurance do we have that Qaadafi's successor won't be ten times worse again?
That's victory for you, alright!!!
-
Something like 80% of Americans were against the Libya War last week. Great work, Obama!
-
Ok so now if Gaddafi manages to not get caught he has plenty of cash and he'll take a page out of the Saddam book and pay for an insurgency. Who';s going to police that...not me. Barry won't send in US ground troops so that will result in a civil war...worse then what we're seeing. U can lay all that blood on Barry's head. Or he gets caught, the nuts take over...because Andreisdaman, the nuts will take over. Democracy will not break out. Unlike even in Egypt, the fundy's have had to time to mass in Libya and they're all over the place. So Barry will have allowed another state to fall into chaos. Your president is a fucking loser.

I haven't supported Gadhafi. I just haven't applauded President Downgrade, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, spending billions of dollars to secure oil for some ungrateful Eurotrash countries who went out of their way to get the Lockerbie bomber released.

if you aren't supporting the president and by extension the United States then you are a traitor and a de facto supporter of Ghadaffi....the president represents you....don't you guys get it?..wanting him to fail is the same as you and I failing by extension.....regardless of how you feel about him you have to applaud when something he does goes right..thats the issue I have with guys like you..you spin all of his accomplishments into negatives.....and you lose credibility in the process

Nice try, terrorist. Not supporting this war =/= supporting Gadhafi. You, on the other hand, are applauding Obama's financing, training and delivery of weapons to Al Qaeda and other murderers of your fellow American citizens. Talk about a real piece of shit.

the Syrian people have to do more before we can contemplate toppling Assad by military means

That's it? That's your justification for getting involved in a war? For wasting money? Endangering lives? Killing?

Would these be the same people who, per capita, sent more fighters to Iraq than any other region on the planet? For that matter, we've yet to see any proof of said "atrocities" carried out by Gadhafi while there is a mountain of video evidence showing the Syrian massacres. What proof we do have is a video of these "democracy-loving" rebels beheading one of Gadhafi's soldiers while they hung him by his feet from a window and the mass graves of Gadhafi's soldiers a UK newspaper found.
I don't give a flying fuck about the perceived slights of some anti-American Islamist trash who are only open to us now because President Downgrade saw it fit to shower them with money, weapons and training.

actually at least this time the Europeans actually did something and took the lead which Obama should get a lot of credit for...he told them we weren't going to be a major factor in this and at least it got the Europeans to do something rather than talk then blame us.....

So far Andre you haven't justified shit.
You dodged the question about spending hundreds of millions on war while we have BIG problems here at home
You dodged the question about Obama ridiculing Bush for getting involved in wars and then now doing it him self
You dodged the question about you feeling so strongly about dictators and what you personally did.
You dodged the question Emmortal askEd you about the irag war.

Yeah it's some nice "make the American people feel good" propaganda, but in the end its about resources. Pretty much every war ever fought has been about securing resources.
Darfur would be the top priority of the US military if wars were about saving civilians.

This was known a few months ago when he vanished out of his threads talking shit about Obama's "masterful" handing of the economy. When it imploded in May he was suddenly "too busy" to bother defending his points. He and Straw Man have a lot in common in that regard.

open minded? You said the only reason you liked GWB was because of the amount of black appointments he made.
first of all I said that I admired GW for appointing blacks in high positions...not that this was the only reason I admired him....and it was a way to defend Bush from the idiots who say he was racist....you are taking what I said out of context....
Jewish people admire when someone appoints a Jew to something.....why can't blacks do the same?..its notracism..its having ethnic pride..just like the Greeks loved it when Michael Dukakis was running for prez, and the catholics loved it when JFK became president and took pride in that

I'd have to say yes to this because we were able to get rid of Saddham Hussein and turn Iraq into a democracy..I was dismayed however that the justification for invading (finding weapons of mass destruction) turned out to be pretty false and lame....it made us look bad as a country
But I felt overall Bush did the right thing

Libya council:we won't hand over Lockerbie bomber

TRIPOLI Aug 28 (Reuters) - Libya will not extradite Abdel Basset al-Megrahi, the man convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie airline bombing, a minister in Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) said on Sunday.
"We will not give any Libyan citizen to the West," Mohammed al-Alagi, the NTC justice minister, told reporters in Tripoli.
"Al-Megrahi has already been judged once and he will not be judged again ... We do not hand over Libyan citizens, (Muammar) Gaddafi does." (Reporting by Mohammed Abbas; Writing by Christian Lowe; Editing by Matthew Jones)

How al-Qaeda got to rule in Tripoli
Asia Times ^ | 8/29/11 | Pepe Escobar
His name is Abdelhakim Belhaj. Some in the Middle East might have, but few in the West and across the world would have heard of him.
Time to catch up. Because the story of how an al-Qaeda asset turned out to be the top Libyan military commander in still war-torn Tripoli is bound to shatter - once again - that wilderness of mirrors that is the "war on terror", as well as deeply compromising the carefully constructed propaganda of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO's) "humanitarian" intervention in Libya.
Muammar Gaddafi's fortress of Bab-al-Aziziyah was essentially invaded and conquered last week by Belhaj's men - who were at the forefront of a militia of Berbers from the mountains southwest of Tripoli. The militia is the so-called Tripoli Brigade, trained in secret for two months by US Special Forces. This turned out to be the rebels' most effective militia in six months of tribal/civil war. Already last Tuesday, Belhaj was gloating on how the battle was won, with Gaddafi forces escaping "like rats" (note that's the same metaphor used by Gaddafi himself to designate the rebels).

no....I would like to overthrow oppressive governments because they are inherently evil....but with support from our allies just as we did in libya and with the cost and burdens being shared by NATO...of course we can't intervene everywhere but we should if the situation dictates

Why not? It was good enough for us to spend millions a day in war that will likely ultimately backfire on us while here in the USA, people still can't meet their basic needs, not to mention education, infrastructure etc. why no go and invade every oppressive government?
Is it worth the life of your son? Father? Mother? to die thousands of miles away to dispose of a government that poses no immediate or future threat the the USA?
Interesting Andre, I would have like to seen you here when the debate over the Iraq war was in full force in 06-07-08. i don't recall any democrats here in favor of it.

So - there are about 150 as of now - should be go on a global mission to rid the workld of dictators?
actually I think we should..in a perfect world..but the world is not perfect so it would not be feasible....we would bankrupt ourselves and lose too many soldiers.....

So the good Col. is "out" and a rag-tag bunch of "Rebels" are "in"? Why is it that 'we' are actively pushing to topple secular or semi-secular regimes in the M.E. and replace them with the Muslim Brotherhood (Egypt) and ragtag rebels who we know almost nothing about except that their are radical elements, AQ etc making up their ranks....
I'm just asking for a little critical thinking on this. Think long term.
Syria is next, check the calculated and well time rhetoric coming out of D.C. It's right there in front of us.

well its not good for any person in politics to be the leader of a country for 42 years and not do a damn thing for his people....no reforms, no nothing....Libya has only about 7 million people which means they should all be living very high due to the oil the country produces..instead, Gaddafi took all the country's wealth and murdered many people to stay in power..yes lately he was not engaged in terror activities but he certainly killed his share of people through terror over the years....it is really odd that you take the side of a dictator over persons who aspire to be free..yes they may fuck up but its their choice to do so..let them control their own destiny..bottom line is Obama was proven right in the end and Gadaffi is out....with minimal money spent and no american loss of life..plus Obama finally forced our allies to do something for a change instead of just talk
I am sorry you are trying to twist Obama's victory into a loss..keep trying..it's not working

We have no idea who these rebels are nor what they aspire to be nor what their plans are. How is being concerned about that little fact turned into me trying to twist Obama's great victory where he lead from behind (no homo) into a loss? Stop being so reactionary and use your brain. If you want to have an actual discussion, you can start by actual countering my points or adding something relevant.
So a countries leader isn't pro-active when it comes to "Reforms" and "spreading the wealth around" and he is a brutal dictator so we should topple him? That sounds a lot like many dictators across the globe. Which ones do we choose to topple? Flip a coin? Draw straws? What parameters need to be met? Does it matter who the "rebels" are? So, any leader on Earth that is in power for x amount of years and does "no reforms, no nothing" for those people and has oil/resources is a govt. that should be arbitrarily attacked and toppled? Are you prepared to invade and bomb most nations on the planet? Why Libya and not Iran?
Like I said in my previous post, I'm not asking for much just some critical thinking. You sound like a child with little understanding of anything. Just a lot of "yeah! that evil dictator was a bad man and he didn't give money to his people and treated them like a big meanie so we went "BLAM BLAM" and killed him dead!"
-
Bama is black - that's all that matters.
-
This is why libs should stay away from foreign policy. Plus knocking over douchbags is only ok when a Dem is in office. Oddly enough alot of these dictators are fairly secular and tend to waste alot of the folks who hate us. Having this guy in power, much like Mubarak..was in our best interest. We gain nothing from allowing the Muslim Brotherhood in power.

I agree.... Just like keeping Hussein in Iraq was in our best interests.
No one seems to get it on the left OR the right.

Iran 'discreetly aided Libyan rebels'
(AFP) – 1 day ago
TEHRAN — Iran "discreetly" provided humanitarian aid to Libyan rebels before the fall of Tripoli, Jam-e-Jam newspaper quoted Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday as saying.
"We were in touch with many of the rebel groups in Libya before the fall of (Moamer) Kadhafi, and discreetly dispatched three or four food and medical consignments to Benghazi," Salehi told the daily.
"The head of the National Transitional Council (NTC), Mustafa Abdel Jalil, sent a letter of thanks to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for having been on their side and helping," he added.
Since the Libyan uprising erupted in mid-February, Iran has adopted a dual approach -- criticising the Kadhafi regime for its violent assaults on the rebels while at the same time condemning NATO's military intervention.
On Tuesday, Iran "congratulated the Muslim people of Libya" after rebels overran the capital Tripoli, but it has so far distanced itself from officially recognising the NTC.

Critical thinking?..okay..lets try some.....we and NATO by extension have always toppled dictators...from world war II until today....Reagan invaded Grenada....Bush I toppled Manuel Noriega of Panama.....Clinton removed Milosevic from Yugoslavia.....BusH II removed the Taliban from Afghanistan and Saddam from Iraq....and now Obama has done the same with Libya......it has always been an unofficual policy of the U.S. to remove tyrants...regardless of whether you like it or not..the U.S. cannot stand idly by when dictators begin to slaughter their own people....the U.S. is the biggest supporter of human rights in the world...how can it just sit on the sidelines watching while people are killed...it just would not go over well with the world community and with the people here as well....
yes the U.S. doesn't know the rebels very well but we have been meeting with them covertly and I'm sure Clinton and Obama are comfortable with who they are and so are France and Britain...Many of the people in the rebel leadership were educated in the U.S.....as a matter of fact, the top three leaders were all educated at U.S. universities...this is a good opportunity to have tremendous influence in Libya since all of the top leadership is familiar with the U.S. in that they have lived here, been educated here and have an idea of of how westerners think and how our society functions based on human rights and law and order...
Libya was not arbitrarily attacked as you put it....Gaddafi tried to murder his way into staying in power..the U.S. and France and Britain decided to act...with the go ahead of the UN I might add....so again...Obama did the right thing....with little loss of treasure , no loss of blood and did something that many U.S. presidents have been unable to do...get our "allies" to actually get off their asses and fight!...As for your putdown that Obama was leading from behind..its so funny that you and others on here were so willing to pin this whole thing on Obama when it appeared the libyan conflict could turn into a disaster, but now that he has been proven right and is victorious now all of a sudden he is "leading from behind"...BY NOT BEING OUT FRONT, OBAMA SAVED THE U.S FROM THE CRITICISM WHICH IT WOULD NORMALLY GET FOR BEING "AN IMPERIALIST POWER BENT ON TAKING OVER MIDEAST OIL AND KILLING MUSLIMS"..Obama was a genius on this matter

Unofficial policy of the USA to remove dictators? Kind of a naive view.
We have also supported many dictators who oppressed their people and in other instances did nothing while genocide and mass murder was being committed like the 1 million people killed by Pol Pot.

International community moves to avert humanitarian crisis in Tripoli

Rebel fighters sit in a vehicle on the road between Misrata and Sirte, Moammar Gadhafi's hometown, on Tuesday.
Tripoli, Libya (CNN) -- Tripoli's 2 million residents faced increasingly dire shortages of food and water Tuesday as rebels estimated the number of people killed during the past six months to be at least 50,000.
"I cannot overstate the urgency of this moment," U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said. "Time is of the essence." Ban said his goal was to get U.N. personnel on the ground "as quickly as possible."
Sixty percent of Tripoli was without water or sanitation, Ban said.
The European Union said Gadhafi forces had closed water-pumping stations in Jebel Hassouna along the route from Tripoli to Sabha while fleeing the capital. The resulting disruption of the water supply in Tripoli is "a major issue," an EU spokeswoman said, adding that security concerns along the road to the stations made it impossible to predict when the flow could be restored.

What evidence do we have that he was murdering his people. We have plenty that they are in Syria. This will go bad...as it always does. The fact that they were educated here means nothing. Your knowledge of how the world works is about paper thin....oh and Clinton and Obama feeling comfortable, are fucking serious.

It's actually just "Neo-Con" as in "Neo-Conservative", and its actual definition is something a bit different than what most on the board think it is.
And I'm not too sure if there are any Neo-Cons on this board, just conservatives. It would be nice if you knew the difference.

It still took entirely too long.
Win or lose it doesn't make any sense on why we even got involved in that country... There is no good to be gained from it what so ever.

"New" Libya Releases 600 Jihadists From Prison
Atlas Shrugs ^ | Sept. 1, 2011 | Pamela Geller
Posted on September 1, 2011 8:44:00 PM EDT by Free ThinkerNY
Obama did this. Was there any thought to what we were doing in Libya when it became evident back in March that al Qaeda was in and among the "rebel" faction? How is al qaeda preferable to Qaddafi?
We spent billions assisting in the overthrow of Qaddafi, and Libya's rebel government said Sunday that it will not extradite the Muslim Lockerbie bomber, Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, who was convicted in the 1988 bombing of a U.S.-bound jetliner which killed 270 people (mostly Americans) when it exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Tens of thousands dead, billions spent .......... for what?
Thr newly islamicized Libya freed hundreds of hardcore Jihadists from prison there. Check out the latest from CNN. Noman Benotman is a former Libyan Islamic Fighting Group Member who renounced violence and joined the Quilliam Foundation, a counter-radicalization group based in the UK. According to him:
World Report: Hundreds of Libyan Jihadists Released from Jail The Blaze
“The freed militants had been imprisoned in Tripoli‘s Abu Salim prison by Moammar Gadhafi’s regime during the height of the insurgency in Iraq… as many as 600 militants may have been among the prison population at Abu Salim.”
In an even more distressing admission, Benotman also told CNN that many of the militants released are pro-al Qaeda and could infiltrate and perhaps control elements of the rebel forces, or start their own militant factions. He continued his analysis with this question:
“Nobody knows what these released prisoners are going to do next…will they take part in the fighting and if they do will they join pre-existing rebel brigades or form a separate fighting force?”

Profile: Libyan rebel commander Abdel Hakim Belhaj (Jihadist, Taliban, former CIA prisoner)
BBC ^ | 5 September 2011 Last updated at 12:59 ET
As leader of the newly formed Tripoli Military Council, Abdel Hakim Belhaj is arguably the most powerful military man in the Libyan capital.
He stood victorious inside Col Muammar Gaddafi's Bab al-Aziziya compound last month, after fighters from his Tripoli Brigade broke through the defences of the ousted leader's fortress in the heart of the city.
...
Mr Belhaj - known in the jihadi world as Abu Abdullah al-Sadiq - commanded the now defunct Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).
...
There, Mr Belhaj is alleged to have developed "close relationships" with al-Qaeda leaders and Taliban chief Mullah Omar, according to an arrest warrant issued by the Libyan government in 2002.
The warrant says that he was based in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, from where he ran and financed training camps for Arab mujahideen fighters.
...
After the 11 September attacks and the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, he and most of the LIFG leaders fled that country as well, only for Mr Belhaj to be arrested in 2004 in Thailand by the CIA and then handed over to Col Gaddafi's government.
Mr Belhaj spent time in Tripoli's notorious Abu Selim Prison, before being freed in 2010 under a "de-radicalisation" drive championed by Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of the Libyan leader.
...
"He was rendered by the CIA, he was captured, abducted together with his pregnant wife and flown on the so-called black flight to Tripoli for his interrogation," he said.
Mr Bouckaert said Mr Belhaj was one of about eight or nine suspects who were abducted and handed over to the Libyan intelligence service.
"From the files it's very clear [CIA agents] were present in some of the interrogations themselves."
Mr Belhaj was held in Tripoli's notorious Abu Selim prison for seven years, where he says he was "regularly tortured".

I accept that he must be blamed for the unemployment figures..he's the president and traditionally presidents take responsibility for the economy good or bad EVEN THOUGH THEY REALLY HAVE LITTLE AFFECT ON IT....the stimulus as well was his idea so h has to take responsibility, even though the stimulus did save jobs that would have been lost....Gas prices are out of his control and the credit thing was caused by the tea party and Repubs refusing to compromise and making statements that they would rather see the gov't go into default which scared the credit companies
c'mon..lets at least be fair about this
-
Lmfao! So why re elect him if nothing is within his power.
-
Um...Barry had plemty of time to fix the debt ceiling. He also could have accepted cut,cap and balance..or provide his own plan. He failed...thats fair. Obama fails twice a second.
-
"20,000 surface to air missiles missing in Libya" another Victory for Obama.
its really weird that you would blame Obama about that when we took a minimal role in the war...why didn't you blame Britain or France, who both took the lead in the war???...your statement is truly odd....but it shows I was right about the insane comments you guys on here make with no kind of substantiation whatsover just based solely on the fact that you are anti-Obama
Also in wars, money and weapons go missing all the time..thats not unusual
-

the debt ceiling thing was basically politics...its a normal standard thing that the U.S. has done over 75 times in the last 50 years....he was working with an intransigent congress who was trying to score political points at Obama's expense and it wound up costing us big time...funny you refuse to lay blame where the fault really lies...with the tea party and Republicans.....in every single poll taken, the public blames them for the debt ceiling debacle overwhelmingly....
unfortunately you have outed yourself as biased and so you don't see it as it is

He had little operational role but he gave the go-ahead (do you think France and Britain would have fought otherwise?), conducted the early portion of the war, was right about the need to get rid of Ghaddafi and he rightly predicted that the rebels would be successful in that area.....you were wrong about both....hence the serious ass-kicking you took

President Downgrade and co.'s rampant spending ensured the downgrade. The debacle over the ceiling only confirmed what S&P had been saying for a while.
President Foodstampington Downgradesalot owns it.

well there you go repeating that lie again...it was a factor in that it proved that Bush was not a racist like the stupid far-left was claiming

rampant spending has been out of control for decades and our credit was never downgraded...what changed???....the tea party and Repubs making reckless public statements that they would let the U.S. default..that's what caused the unnecessary downgrade.....and all major economists say that the downgrade was a mistake because we have never ever missed a loan payment on our debt.....
keep trying

France, Britain and especially Italy had much more to loose and have closer ties in Libya. Things will go south and Barry will own it. Every foreign policy success Barry has had is directly tied to continuing policies Bush put in place.

A debt of $14 trillion (and set to eclipse $20 trillion by the end of Obama's reign) is what changed. Out of control Dem spending approaching 25% of GDP is what happened.
"All major economists" is a completely unsubstantiated claim.

I do to...I think any short coming can be mitigated by a strong team around him.

Because I am not a british or French citizen.
However I am an American citizen and I do not support needless American involvement in wars. And do not support a president who promised he wouldn't involve us in a needless war when referring to BUSH's grand fuck up in Iraq. And I do not support irresponsibly going to war and not being mindful of things like this.
But yeah, Andre that's insane talk. ::)

I trust HH6 any day over you andre.

Andreisadouche has thrown his lot in with Al Qaeda and other Islamist murderers of Americans.
I guess you've thrown in your lot with a murdering terrorist dictator who killed many people to stay in power and committed acts of terror against Americans in the past plus tried to murder his own people when they asked him to leave....and of course you overstate again like usual..I am for self-determination by the Libyan people....if they fuck up and turn to Al Qaeda then again...thats their business..it would be a shame

the difference is that Obama said our involvement would be very brief which it was, and that we would not have soldiers on the ground which we did not, and it would not cost us a ton of money, which again it did not, plus Obama promised Gaddafi would be ousted which he was....
Obama came through on every single promise concerning the war....so how can you say it was reckless??..he accomplished EVERY SINGLE OBJECTIVE....

So 20,000 missing SAM's was all part of the objective? And "not a ton of money" is what exactly?
It was a no-brainer that allowing a unstable element in Libya would be a breeding ground for terrorists and now they have little things to shoot at planes with.
"Objective Accomplished"

thanks for saying it.....Objective has been accomplished...and what makes you think that those SAM's weren't missing a long time ago???.....and why is Obama responsible for weapons SOLD TO LIBYA BY THE RUSSIANS???....and you sure have a lot of faith in the accuracy of the Libyan inventory takers......
WWWWOOOOWWWWWW.........c ome back to reality man!

We don't even know who the rebels are for gods sake. Some are al quadea , some are rag tag idealists, etc.
They are also being armed by Iran. Way to go Obama Administration, have really done your work in vetting the next government in Libya. This Administration doesn't have a clue at what they are doing. Case in Point Egypt. Muslim Brotherhood is the majority force in Egypt. Backing a group that has not been vetted is elementary.

Oh wow, how do you know that those SAM's weren't planted by aliens? ::) Which is about as stupid as what you just said.
Look if you are going to be a fucking moron with stupid arguments like that save it for the kiddy forum. Geez
Osama is responsible for getting involved in a war we shouldn't have been involved in and in turn has made this country less safe. He's a hypocrite. I would have been far more secure with Ghadafi holding those weapons instead of possibly and or likely terrorist elements. Because doing anything with them means the end of his power.
And show me where i said OB is responsible of those SAM's sold by the Russians.

The "unfunded prescription drug program" is better known as Medicare part D. The individual monthly premium one pays for this in addition to the premium they pay for Medicare starts at about $40 a month and goes up, depending on the plan and the provider you choose. Medicare premiums are currently right at $100. per month. So together Medicare with part prescription part D runs $140 or more per month per person.
My wife and I purchase an Enhanced Medicare Advantage plan at a current cost of $127. a month each. So in other words we pay about $227. each for Medicare with an added drug plan. Our co-pays for prescriptions are currently $5. for each generic drug and more for non-generic drugs or drugs not on the Medicare formulary.
I am not sure how, given the combined cost of premiums and co-pays, Medicare part D can be considered unfunded. What is there to fund? We are paying for the coverage we get. It would be interesting to know what, if anything, government pays for this coverage. Like any insurance plan, some folks are heavy users and thus expensive to insure. Others, like me, pay out much more in premiums then we can ever recoup in medical expense savings. Essentially, I pay for some other high users medical costs to the insurer....in my case Medicare and Regence Blue Cross. This model is the same as it is with private medical insurance.
Another thing that is interesting about Medicare part D is that should one decide to opt out and later change their mind and sign up for it, they must pay a penalty for not having signed up when they were first eligible, thus insuring that low users like me are going to be in the plan, paying some of the cost of the high users.
This may be more than you wanted to know. It is easier just to believe the rhetoric spewed out by various political extremist then it is to actually research and know the facts.

Nice try, terrorist. Not supporting this war =/= supporting Gadhafi. You, on the other hand, are applauding Obama's financing, training and delivery of weapons to Al Qaeda and other murderers of your fellow American citizens. Talk about a real piece of shit.
How do you know Al-CIA-da are present among the rebels?? Did you see in CNN/SKY news..............
When you base your arguments on spurious intel.

Thanks for your awesome post..very nice explanation and I learned a lot from it...but the truth is that what you and others pay for your premiums in no way comes close to what the medicines actually cost....for example I use medicine for a condition that I have as well....I pay my insurance premium plus the co-pay for my meds which is about $25.00 or so..but the actual cost of the medication I use is $365.00....so who pays for the other $345.00???..the insurance company does since I have private insurance...but in terms of medicaid who pays for the extra cost??..the government.....
this is no knock on you at all...you deserve what you are getting...but the difference in the money you pay and what the drug actually costs gets made up from somewhere (the government)

In some cases. like yours, this is true. But, this is not always the case. With the Regence Enhanced Medicare supplemental insurance my wife and I have, we get monthly updates on what the insurance has paid for prescriptions. In my case the total cost for prescriptions for a year amounts to less than $500. My premiums amount to over $2,700. I see my doctor maybe three times a year. I co-pay $25. for a specialist and $10. for my GP. Clearly, Regence is making a profit off me. My wife, on the overhand suffers from diabetes and has a raft of other complications as a result. She takes about nine different prescriptions everyday. Even so, she has never even come close to the Medicare prescription "gap". Of course, Regence contracts with pharmacies for drug costs. It is amazing how little generic drugs actually cost them. I am always surprised when I see the printout.

Ahh poor Andre just got smacked around and he's hurt because of the "mean moderator". Funny you had no problem with it when i give 3333 a bunch of shit. Anyway, your argument was fucking stupid saying they might have been missing a long time ago. We aren't talking about a few SAM's, we are talking about 20,000. It is what it is. If you don't like it go cry some place else. Perhaps where i suggested: THE KIDDY FORUM

Where 20,000 SAM's lost in Iraq? NO. Why is that? Because even though through the idiocy of Rumsfield our troops were smart enough to secure weapons like that before they landed in the hands of insurgents/terrorists. This is Obama's mess up because he involved us in a war irresponsibly and didn't consider the aftermath.

Thanks again for an informative post...and you are correct that for someone like you who is relatively healthy, no extra costs are incurred....but I would gather that you are not elderly right?....and the prescription drug program was aimed at the elderly..who often are by far a lot sicker than you and I and therefore incur a lot more costs
-

oh stop it..you're being silly.....how do you know when the SAM's were lost??...I don't know either, I'm just saying they could have been missing a long time ago or yesterday...its anyone's guess..why blame Obama for that?....also in Libya, the armories were looted by insurgents, citizens, and rebels so who knows what was taken by whom...this wasn't the case in the other wars...
I didn't say I was right..I said my argument was plausible.....why you insist on blaming Obama for this shows your complete bias and lack of common sense on this issue

LIBYA IRAQ
short war lasting months 5-6 years of conflict
no U.S. casualties whatsoever over 4000 soldiers dead
relatively low financial cost trillions spent
objective achieved (Ghadaffi out) objective still in doubt due to political infighting/continued terrorism
most of combat burden by almost all combat by U.S. and British troops
Britain, France and Italy
Mass slaughter of civilians prevented very high civilian casualties due to shite/sunni tribal violence
as for you saying Obama got us into a "mess" ,which of the above looks like a mess to you????
stop trying to parrot the other idiots on this board..you're supposed to be much too smart for that

What a comfort to know that I am not alone here. I completely agree with what you've said in this post....it is hard to argue with the facts. Unfortunately, some folks choose to ignore facts, opting instead to post theirs and others opinions as if they were fact based.
Without a doubt, President Obama isn't perfect (no President is). But he also isn't responsible for everything we don't like that is going on in the world today.

No Andre, 20,000 SAM's don't go missing as a matter of chance or a "natural occurrence in a military" as you used to support your asinine retort. (example #1)
.why blame Obama for that?....also in Libya, the armories were looted by insurgents, citizens, and rebels so who knows what was taken by whom...this wasn't the case in the other wars...
Exactly, as i explained earlier, in other wars we were involved in we were more responsible. And the man responsible for us being responsible is OB. And what he has done is help a unstable element, with no clear leadership or accountability take over a country in the middle east that has 20,000 SAMS and now those SAMs might be missing. (example #2)
I didn't say I was right..I said my argument was plausible.....why you insist on blaming Obama for this shows your complete bias and lack of common sense on this issue
No your argument is not plausible save to the extent that it compares to the possibility of aliens planting the SAMs. Any military, especially one in Libya with terrorist elements near by, would not be without accountability (to Ghadafi) of its weapons such as SAMs especially considering the times we live in and the fear of Ghadafi losing power because he lost said SAMs. (example #3) Nothing personal Andre, its just a stupid thing to say and you did it solely to argue your point. I would have respected you more if you said, "Yeah that's not good but i believe getting Ghadafi out outweighs this mistake", but no, you had to use dumb logic and claim it as plausible. Or the whole: "I was in the military and saw things get lost all the time" lol, like 20,000 SAM's go missing in the US army. lol.
as for you "smacking me around" ..please...I can more than go toe to toe with you any time...
.
Refer to the above examples. You are tedious at best. Nothing brought home the point more than "They could have been missing a long time before that." Seriously dude, that's about the weakest stupidest argument i think i have ever read on GB.
as a matter of fact your complete lack of understanding on this issue has diminished you.....I thought you were smarter than the argument you presented...and I still don't see the "recklessness " that you refer to in terms of us being involved in the conflict....it turned out pretty well considering the aftermath of the Iraq war turned into a long insurgency in which we took many casualties
Your lack of understanding is beyond your ability to understand. Just as Bush recklessly put our troops in harms way, so has OB and has potentially given terrorists SAM's.
LIBYA IRAQ
short war lasting months 5-6 years of conflict
no U.S. casualties whatsoever over 4000 soldiers dead
relatively low financial cost trillions spent
objective achieved (Ghadaffi out) objective still in doubt due to political infighting/continued terrorism
most of combat burden by almost all combat by U.S. and British troops
Britain, France and Italy
Mass slaughter of civilians prevented very high civilian casualties due to shite/sunni tribal violence
as for you saying Obama got us into a "mess" ,which of the above looks like a mess to you????
One mess doesn't negate or invalidate another mess. Simple reality. Unless of course you are you i guess.
stop trying to parrot the other idiots on this board..you're supposed to be much too smart for that
I am not parroting anyone. I attack both sides. You know that. If it smells like a duck, acts like a duck, talks like duck, i am going to call it a duck.
OB should have never involved us in this conflict period. The millions and millions wasted could have been put to better use. Now we have possibly 20,000 SAMS missing. Frankly 1 SAM missing, bought into the USA can cause serious problems shutting down air travel again.
-
Again very simply to the tampons who still support obama - Obama wars good - Bush wars Bad
-

I have never said Bush's war was bad...I supported the fact that he got rid of Saddham and his sons....they were like a mafia

No Andre, 20,000 SAM's don't go missing as a matter of chance or a "natural occurrence in a military" as you used to support your asinine retort. (example #1)

your reasoning on these matters is severely flawed and your logic is twisted..but I'm not going to continue arguing with you since we will never come to an agreement so why bother???..lets move on....you are basically going to see everything thru the conservative lens....no matter how wrong you guys are you never admit it so whats the purpose of debate?..let move on

Thanks for your support prime....its nice to see reasonable people posting in here who understand that Obama can't be responsible for every little negative thing that happens in the world....I can't understand why people can't see the facts as you and I see them....its really weird

Yet when a little thing goes well, you are gushing with tears and praise for him as if he is responsible for that.
So according to the 95ers like yourself - obama gets all the credit when things go well because he is brilliant and genius, yet when things go bad, its nwever his fault because the POTUS is powerless?
Did I accurately sum this up from your viewpoint?

no...you didn't....I know Obama has not been perfect but the stuff you guys blame him for are amazing.....I will admit that Obama now owns this bad economy....blaming Bush for 2 years was fine because it was true but now the POTUS must own whats going on so he can do something about it....but Obama has had some great accomplishments as well and you guys never blame the Republicans for anything...I just want some balance....some of you still resent the president because he's black

massacres were occurring because when the rebellion started, Gadaffi began to inflict violence on civilian protesters..plus the situation was rapidly deteriorating due in most part to Gaddafi having no real army unlike many other countries like Syria....also the Russians are holding up action on Syria....why aren't you blaming Putin or Medvedev????

Where are the videos, retard? There are a bunch of videos floating around showing Syrian forces massacring civilians but interestingly enough there isn't jack shit of the Libyan military doing the same. However, what is floating around is a video of a soldier from Gadhafi's side being hung from a window by his feet and beheaded while a crowd of animals stands around chanting, "Allahu Akbar". A British newspaper also found mass graves with bodies wearing the uniforms of Gadhafi's military, thus indicating that these rebels are executing prisoners of war.
So jog on with your "you refuse to pay attention to facts" bullshit.

the US had to choose between 2 groups of pricks who hate americans.
THe one in charge was deeply entrenched, very rich, untouchable, and had directly killed americans by his own order.
the new groups is less entrenched, poorer, very touchable, vulnerable, and - how many of them blew up a US airliner - and what were their names?
Anyone that runs that place is going to be an a-hole. Better to allow the ones we can better control get into office. Or put in a puppet... I guess you know for a fact the rebel leader that "lived in virginia with no work history for 20 years" isn't a US govt plant, right?
-
Once again your entire argument revolves around some unsubstantiated hypothetical that you pulled out of your ass. It is well documented that the region the majority of these rebels hail from sent more fighters per capita to Iraq than any other spot on the planet (and were second in total fighters sent only to the Saudi trash coming out of Riyadh). It is also well documented that fighters from Al Qaeda and other jihadist groups are among their ranks and now looking to subvert the rebels in their quest to install an Islamic state.
You hang onto your hypothetical while I'll hang onto the notion that you're a supporter of terrorists that mass-murder both American citizens and American soldiers.
-

of course what Syria is doing is wrong but in the end we can't intervene everywhere at one time.....right now its being taken up in the U.N. where Russia is holding up action on Libya by threatening a veto.....Libya has no military because Ghaddafi purposely made sure there would no elements within a said military to depose him like he deposed the gov't 42 years ago.....so the situation is different....funny you don't blame Russia since you want to put the blame on Obama so much
also war is not perfect and massacres happen all the time in all conflicts....American soldiers have raped and massacred as well....its normal during wartime to seek revenge on your enemies..do we condemn the entire U.S. military for that?...NO..nor should we...
you're hysterical

Ahh poor Andre just got smacked around and he's hurt because of the "mean moderator". Funny you had no problem with it when i give 3333 a bunch of shit. Anyway, your argument was fucking stupid saying they might have been missing a long time ago. We aren't talking about a few SAM's, we are talking about 20,000. It is what it is. If you don't like it go cry some place else. Perhaps where i suggested: THE KIDDY FORUM
You saw 20,000 SAM get lost? ::) Another stupid argument. They weren't missing before all this but now even just one is a very dangerous thing for us.
Where 20,000 SAM's lost in Iraq? NO. Why is that? Because even though through the idiocy of Rumsfield our troops were smart enough to secure weapons like that before they landed in the hands of insurgents/terrorists. This is Obama's mess up because he involved us in a war irresponsibly and didn't consider the aftermath.
here Ozmo...to bolster my argument that stuff in the military goes missing all the time

When did I argue that it doesn't? My point is that 20,000 surface to air missiles is far different than a pallet of m-16 rounds. That's why your explanation isnt plausible but instead highly unlikely like aliens planting them.
You see your argument isn't realistic. Saying a few SAMs go missing is plausible, but unlikely, given that these are far different weapons than just ordinary bullets, but to go as far saying 20,000 could have gine missing long before the Rebs got there due to incompetence in supply logistics or whatever and saying that compares to a pallet of bullets is just dumb.

Russian suitcase nukes have gone missing and many are unaccounted for to this day....my point is that yes....huge military hardware goes missing all the time.....especially in countries like Libya where accounting methods and inventory control are suspect and theft is rampant..plus scammers take these things to sell for a quick buck...it doesn't mean that these weapons will be used against our forces in the near future...although this could happen of course
-

Again, a few might be plausible but 20,000 no. And I seriously doubt any Russian nukes have gone missing indefinitely.
So saying 20000 SAMs could have been missing long before this is silly. Besides the SAMs were missing out of their boxes.

TRIPOLI, Libya (WLS) - It seems everyone in Libya has a gun these days.
Defeated in battle, Moammar Gadhafi's army left behind armories brimming with weapons, and the rebels have helped themselves. It's not just guns that have been plundered. Almost every outpost captured by opposition forces has yielded weapons -- everything from AK-47 assault rifles to grenades to surface-to-air missiles (SAMs). And the rebels tell ABC News that they don't have enough resources to safeguard them all -- which means they may wind up in the hands of people who have other agendas than defeating Gadhafi.
According to Peter Bouckaert, emergencies director at Human Rights Watch, the weapons the looters want most, and take first, are the SAMs.
HRW estimates there are 20,000 surface-to-air missiles in Libya, and many of those are now missing. Some are recent Russian-made SAMs, capable of shooting down aircraft flying as high as 11,000 feet.
"They have no military use in this war," said Bouckaert. "Gadhafi is not flying any airplanes, he's not flying any helicopters. So why are people looting these very powerful and dangerous missiles?"
Bouckaert suggested that some of the looters might have other targets in mind. "They can be used to shoot down a civilian plane. That's what al Qaeda tried to do in Mombasa a few years ago."
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged the Libyan rebels to protect Gadhafi's weapons stockpiles "to ensure that weapons from Qaddafi's stockpiles do not threaten Libya's neighbors and the world." It may be too late. Bouckaert of HRW warns that they are now "in the hands of unknown people."

20,000 SAMs aren't the only weapons that have gone missing. It was fucking Toys'R'Us for terrorists in there. I've been posting stories for months talking about the sheer amount of weaponry that's "vanished".
-
Yeah and guys like Vince talk about how these SAMs can't bring down a 737. right as I f he wants fly to fly on one while these SAMs are shot at it while it takes off.
Further more that fucking Obama helped an unstable element with out clear leadership take over Libya further deeping the loss of control of weapons like this.
Just fucking great, but no worries, don't blame Obama because 20,000 SAMs could have been long before civil war because stuff like that happens all the time. ::)
I hate fucking idiots who just argue shit (mostly made up) abondonig common sense for the sake of the argument.
-
Vince also said he can convert an airsoft gun into a real gun. On ballistics he is not the go to guy for sure.
-

Hahahahahahahahaah.
-
Again, a few might be plausible but 20,000 no. And I seriously doubt any Russian nukes have gone missing indefinitely.
So saying 20000 SAMs could have been missing long before this is silly. Besides the SAMs were missing out of their boxes.
they have....look it up

you should hate yourself then...because I don't know how your common sense says that Obama is to blame for the missing weapons....why don't you blame Sarkozy or Cameron or Berlusconi who all had a more active role in the war than Obama???..you are losing credibility by the day
Jesus your bias and hypocrisy are amazing

I don't gush praise for Obama if he doesn't deserve it...just defend him for stupid and unjustified attacks as I see made on this board by dummies
I have said that Obama is responsible for the economy and unemployment because he is the president and must take ownership of the situation..he can't keep blaming Bush three years into his presidency..thats absurd.......you guys don't concede him anything and keep on with stupid and relentless juvenile attacks like "Obama is responsible for the missing weapons in Libya" and other such nonsense
and whats sad and pathetic is that you spend all your available free time posting anti-Obama nonsense on here thats inaccurate and wrong to begin with....you have no life outside of this forum..you claim to be a Lawyer...why not go to the courthouse for a change and actually defend someone????
-
Barry is responsible..Barry is in charge. Bush owned it all...barry deflects. Barry is a weak loser.

You don't gush praise for Pres. Downgrade, eh? So that thread attacking 333 about Obama's masterful handling of the economy a few months ago was what exactly? You blow the guy at every opportunity.
"OBAMA'S OWNING OF 333 CONTINUES. HAD GREAT BOWEL MOVEMENT THIS MORNING."
You're a lying weasel. It's comical watching you try to claw your way out of this thread.

I know studying for your GED takes up a lot of your time but Jesus....keep yourself informed

Unless A person uses the word solely or a word like it you shouldnt assume he is. Especially since we are not soley involved in Libya.
And hell, as BF eluded too, this is just one instance that was reported. The major issue here is control and accountability. No central leadership and instability in a country with a cache of weapons that can cause serous problems if weapons like this make there way to the USA. Our airports are ridiculously vunerable.
I would expect a certain amount of foresight from OB as I did with Bush and they have both failed.
Our country is fucked by greedy corrupt politics and the last 2 presidents have only made things worse abroad.

Not just weapons but I'm willing to bet that there are remnants of his (Ghadaffi) NBC weapons programs as well, if not remnants possibly whole programs that were frozen.

and again my retort to you is that weapons go missing all the time..in peace and in war....I disagree that Bush and Obama failed.......but your comment about corrupt and greedy politics probably deserves some thought
-
Sure...but Barry is supposed to be the smartest guy ever right! So being that he's so smart and has the advantage of seeing what worked and didn't in Afganistan and Iraq, he should have told his smartest team of guys ever not to allow certain types of weapons to go missing. Like wmd's or SAM's..stuff that terror nutbags really want. Buts see..barry is a fucking retard and so wrapped up in his own bullshit he doesn't see he just made things worse.
-

Which is unrealistic and highly unlikely considering the timing, the fact they are missing from their boxes and the amount.
And really you think Runsfields post invasion plan was successful?
-

you are trying to taint Obama's victory by bringing up things like the above, although I am sure you are right that there are remnants of Ghadaffi's chemical weapons program around somewhere, its really not something you would consider not going to war over.....
Saddham supposedly having weapons of mass destruction didn't prevent Bush from going to war against Iraq did it?..Bush didn't worry as to whether those weapons were secure before invading Iraq

sigh...how do I even respond to something as idiotic as this????...I'm at a loss

No I don't think his post-invasion plan was successful, but in the chaos of war there are other priorities that come first....and again..you nor I nor even Obama, Sarkozy, Cameron, or Berlosconi know exactly when those weapons in Libya went missing...Gaddaffi himself may have then somewhere....we just do not know..I just thought it was really curious that you only mentioned Obama as bearing the blame.....if you are claiming to be fair then be fair all around

They were missing from their boxes which were strewn about the warehouse. Obviously NOT an inventory and accounting error.
And your fairness issue works both ways. Look at the title of your thread.
As for the chaos of war, the issue in Iraq wasn't the priorities. It was an arrogant amd irresponsible assumption that order wuld have been maintained and therefore only about half the troops normally needed were used.
-
sigh...how do I even respond to something as idiotic as this????...I'm at a loss
YOu have ZERO concept about how military operations work. ZERO! All of Libya's major weapons depots are targeted and ID'd. His WMD sites were also known and I suspect Bush made that fact known to Ghadafi shortly before he had his change of heart. Obama should have been briefed that any wholescale collapse of the governmnet would allow tons of weapons to get into the hands of people who really don't like us. If I were president my first thought would be as to how toppling the gov would affect my cictizens. I COULD CARE LESS how many of his own people he was killing - which he wasn't. I'd want to know what the military planned to do about wmd sites and where they were on the depth chart of target packages. If they could not be destroyed or easily captured...well then NATO was not going to do it.
As for the chaos in Iraq...I was there. There was no plan. It was ridiculous. We let it happen.

No not nitpicking at all. You asserted that I solely blamed OB when I did not. So I only exposed your error using the same dumb logic you use.
And ::) x100 with your banning quip. That's pretty fucking lame and pathetic of you. Considering how hard me an 333 have gone at it. It's very hard to get banned on this site. Unless of course you have a history of gimmickry and all you do attack people without reasonable debate or discussion.

Islam to be main source of legislation in post-Qaddafi Libya
AFP ^ | Tuesday, 13 September 2011

Islam will be the main source of legislation in post-Muammar Qaddafi Libya, the head of Libya’s transitional leadership said in his first public address in Tripoli on Monday.
National Transitional Council leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil made the remarks before thousands of Libyans gathered on Martyr’s Square two days after his arrival in the capital following the fall of Qaddafi’s regime.
“We will not accept any extremist ideology, on the right or the left. We are a Muslim people, for a moderate Islam, and we will stay on this road,” he said.
This was Abdel Jalil’s first visit to Tripoli since the rebellion against Qaddafi erupted in February. The toppled leader, now on the run, used to make public appearances on the same spot, then known as Green Square, to rally his supporters.
On arrival in Tripoli on Saturday, Abdel Jalil was treated to a red-carpet welcome, mobbed by hundreds of people and protected by a thick human chain.
Strict security measures also applied for Monday’s appearance, with the perimeter of the square closed off to traffic and armed men searching people who entered.
Abdel Jalil described the “liberation of Tripoli, the miracle that occurred with minimum loss” of life, telling the crowd: “You will be with us against any person who will want to steal our revolution.”
A defiant Qaddafi on Monday vowed to fight on until victory as his forces launched surprise fightbacks on three fronts.

Libya could fall into hands of extremists, Nato warns
The Telegraph (UK) ^ | 12 Sep 2011 | Thomas Harding, Ruth Sherlock in Bani Walid and Richard Spencer
Libya is in danger of falling into the hands of Islamic extremists if a stable government is not rapidly established, Nato’s secretary-general warned last night.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Anders Fogh Rasmussen said Islamic extremists would “try to exploit” any weaknesses created as the country tried to rebuild after four decades of Col Muammar Gaddafi’s rule.
Mr Rasmussen was speaking amid growing evidence of splits in the rebel leadership in Tripoli. His words will cast a damper over the euphoria sweeping Tripoli in the wake of the revolution.
His warning came as the head of the National Transitional Council, Mustafa Abdul Jalil, told cheering crowds in Tripoli that Islamic shariah law would be the “main source” of legislation in the new Libya.

1. I do hate obama and everything he represents, stands for, is, was, will be, ever was, ever will be, as well as those who still support him.
2. One does not have to look far for the facts leading almost any sane reasonable person to come to the conclusion that this admn has been an abject disaster for this nation on all fronts. The fact sspeak for themselves.

But I thought those Arabs were all about liberalism and democracy! ::)
The only people that didn't see this being a possibility are those with their suckholes attached to Obama's sphincter. Hi, Andre!

distortion is something you and 3333 do very well..no wonder you never disagree with each other....I never said they were for liberalism and democracy....I have repeatedly said that we gave them an opportunity...if they fuck it up its their problem..had Ghadaffi liberalized in some form or fashion he would still be there in power today and none of this would have happened....he and his sons were like Saddham and his sons....running the country like a criminal mafia
but in your twisted mind that's okay as long as Ghaddafi was for the good ole U.S. of A. right?..which by the way, he really wasn't....he was for himself
by the way....speaking of suckholes...you've got yours attached pretty tight to Ghaddafi's ass

Islamists Emerge As Dominant Force In Post-Gaddafi Libya
TRIPOLI, Libya — For decades, bearded men in Libya were afraid to walk in the streets or go to the mosque, worried that to be seen as an Islamist would land them in prison, or worse.
As Libya’s leader, Moammar Gaddafi regarded Islamists as the greatest threat to his authority, and he ordered thousands of them detained, tortured and, in some cases, killed. The lucky ones fled the country in droves. But with Gaddafi now in hiding, Islamists are vying to have a say in a new Libya, one they say should be based on Islamic law.
Although it went largely unnoticed during the tumultuous civil war the regime lost last month, Islamists were at the heart of the fight, many as rebel commanders. Now some are clashing with secularists within the rebels’ Transitional National Council, prompting worries among some liberals that the Islamists — who still command the bulk of fighters and weapons — could use their strength to assert an even more dominant role.
“We don’t want any vacuums or for those Islamists to steal the revolution,” said a senior rebel leader, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the internal rifts.
Among the Islamists in the rebel ranks, a small fraction were militants who had previously waged war abroad. Some had fought Islamic wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Chechnya and Kosovo under a militant banner; some ended up in the arms of more extreme groups such as al-Qaeda. The city of Derna, a key bastion of resistance against Gaddafi in eastern Libya, was home to dozens of Libyan fighters who fought in Iraq after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.
In the fight against Gaddafi’s forces, the Islamist militants played an important role among the rebels’ rag-tag forces because of their experience in battles abroad. With a place in the new Libya, most have said that their days as militants are over. The largest of the organizations, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, has re-branded itself as the Libyan Islamic Movement for Change.

Where did I say that Ghadaffi never harmed anyone? And why should I give a fuck that he harmed Islamists? It's not our job to police the world. The only thing Muslims, and Arabs in particular, respond to is brute force.
Protip: They'll do the same exact fucking thing once they take power. Fuck, they didn't even wait to take power in Egypt or have you missed all the Coptic Christians (you know, the TRUE Egyptians) getting killed since their "democratic" revolution?
The Muslim Brotherhood and all its little off-shoots were banned in all these countries for very legitimate reasons. ::)
You are one stupid fuck.

Where did I contradict myself? Show me the post where I said Gadhafi never harmed anyone and I'll delete my account. What I did say was that Al Qaeda and the various other jihadist groups we're arming, funding and training in Libya have killed more Americans that Gadhafi has.
Go back to school and take reading comprehension again, 50-year-old college student. ::)

great try..
1. I'm actually too lazy to go and look it up..its not that important...
2. If I did find said comment you would just obfuscate, redirect, or ignore it....as you usually do when I call you out on something and show you evidence that you were wrong about something...so why bother?..you don't have the personal integrity to back up what you say any way...you don't have the critical thinking skills to look at and evaluate evidence to the contrary, and you won't ever say you are sorry or wrong about something because in your limited mind that would be a huge defeat for you to do so..
lets just move on...I'm endlessly arguing with an 8 year old here..its not worth it
-
So now after accusing BF of something you are too lazy to back it up? And now you just wanna to dismiss the whole thing because you think BF will act like a bitch about it? And you are claiming it's unimportant now?
That's pretty weak Abdre. :D
If he said it nail him, don't bitch out like that. Or man up and say you mistaken.

you can't nail dudes like Berzerk Fairy because in his mind he is never wrong..so again why bother..what will it accomplish....
I think this board would be vastly improved if guys like you acted as an arbitrator and called out people who were actually wrong...not just pick on me :D

That's just stupid Andre, I call out 33333 all the time ( you even applaud it ).
Stop trying to deflect, stop trying to make it into something it's not, stop trying to play the victim now.
You accused BF of something, back it up like a man, or admit your were mistaken like a man.
Either way, be a man, don't be like this.
PS. I have called out BF before and he done the same with me. It's not that hard. So stop it already. Unless of course you "can't" back up your accusation.
PPSS: stop trying to put words in poeples mouths in your arguments that you can't or refuse to back up.
PPPSSS. You don't need mods to call a person out on BS. Lol

Here's the funny part. I don't know if BF said what Andre is accusing him of or not. It just would be a really stupid thing to say and BF isn't stupid.
To think anyone would say that and then to use it as part of your argument is just lame.
It's classic putting words in a person's mouth and ridiculing them for those words.
That's complete BS.
So Andre back your words up dude.

We can sum up andreisatwat's back-pedaling pretty easily: he knows I didn't say what he's claiming I did.
I have a good idea of most of my posts on here and I'll say with 100% certainty that I've never made one claiming that Gadhafi never harmed anyone.
I do, however, know exactly what posts he's referring to and what I did claim was that the rebels, whose ranks are made up of Al Qaeda fighters and various other jihadists, have killed more Americans than Gadhafi.

Gadhafi's fighters beat back assault on strongholds
MSNBC ^ | 9/16/2011
Posted on September 17, 2011 4:33:47 PM EDT by MinorityRepublican
Anti-Gadhafi fighters carry their wounded comrade during fighting at the frontline, in the north of the besieged city of Bani Walid on Friday.
BANI WALID, Libya — Moammar Gadhafi's fighters beat back an attempt by Libya's new government Friday to crush remnants of the old regime, forcing revolutionary troops into retreat in the mountains and turning Gadhafi's seaside hometown into an urban battlefield of snipers firing from mosques and heavy weapons rattling main boulevards.
The tough defense of the holdout towns of Sirte and Bani Walid displayed the firepower and resolve of the Gadhafi followers and suggested Libya's new rulers may not easily break the back of regime holdouts. It also raised fears the country could face a protracted insurgency of the sort that has played out in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"The Gadhafi loyalists have so many weapons," cried Maab Fatel, a 28-year-old revolutionary fighter on the front lines in the mountain enclave of Bani Walid, southeast of Tripoli.
"This battle is really crazy," Fatel said, his uniform splattered with blood from carrying a wounded comrade.
Revolutionary forces began the day by streaming into Bani Walid but pulled back after intense fighting failed to dislodge pro-Gadhafi snipers and gunners from strategic positions. The two sides traded relentless mortar and rocket fire across a 500-yard-wide desert valley called Wadi Zeitoun that divides the town between north and south.
Mohaned Bendalla, a doctor at a field hospital in nearby Wishtata, said at least six rebels were killed and more than 50 were wounded.

Libya 'was different,' Obama says
Politico44 ^ | 09/20/11 | MATT NEGRIN
Today, the Libyan people are writing a new chapter in the life of their nation. After four decades of darkness, they can walk the streets, free from a tyrant. They’re making their voices heard—in new newspapers, on radio and television; in public squares and on personal blogs. They’re launching political parties and civil society groups to shape their own destiny and secure their universal rights. And here at the United Nations, the new flag of a free Libya now flies among the community of nations.

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/nightmare-libya-20000-surface-air-missiles-missing/story?id=14610199
U.S. officials had once thought there was little chance that terrorists could get their hands on many of the portable surface-to-air missiles that can bring down a commercial jet liner.
But now that calculation is out the window, with officials at a recent secret White House meeting reporting that thousands of them have gone missing in Libya.
"Matching up a terrorist with a shoulder-fired missile, that's our worst nightmare," said Sen. Barbara Boxer, D.-California, a member of the Senate's Commerce, Energy and Transportation Committee.
The nightmare has been made real with the discovery in Libya that an estimated 20,000 portable, heat-seeking missiles have gone missing from unguarded Army weapons warehouses.
The missiles, four to six-feet long and Russian-made, can weigh just 55 pounds with launcher. They lock on to the heat generated by the engines of aircraft, can be fired from a vehicle or from a combatant's shoulder, and are accurate and deadly at a range of more than two miles.
Peter Bouckaert of Human Rights Watch first warned about the problem after a trip to Libya six months ago. He took pictures of pickup truckloads of the missiles being carted off during another trip just a few weeks ago.
"I myself could have removed several hundred if I wanted to, and people can literally drive up with pickup trucks or even 18 wheelers and take away whatever they want," said Bouckaert, HRW's emergencies director. "Every time I arrive at one of these weapons facilities, the first thing we notice going missing is the surface-to-air missiles."
The ease with which rebels and other unknown parties have snatched thousands of the missiles has raised alarms that the weapons could end up in the hands of al Qaeda, which is active in Libya.
"There certainly are dangerous groups operating in the region, and we're very concerned that some of these weapons could end up in the wrong hands," said Bouckaert.
"I think the probability of al Qaeda being able to smuggle some of the stinger-like missiles out of Libya is probably pretty high," said Richard Clarke, former White House counterterrorism advisor and now a consultant to ABC News.
Tommy Vietor, spokesman for the National Security Council, which advises President Obama, says that a State Department expert "is on the ground in Libya working with the [Transitional National Council]," the rebels' interim government, to develop a "control and destruction program" for the missiles. Vietor also said the administration has sent five specialists to help the TNC "secure, recover and destroy" weapons, including surface-to-air missiles. Said Vietor, "Since the beginning of the crisis, we have been actively engaged with our allies and partners to support Libya's efforts to secure all conventional weapons stockpiles, including recover, control, and disposal of shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles."
Boxer: U.S. Passenger Jets at Risk
Adding to the urgency is the fact that America's passenger jets, like those of most countries, are sitting ducks, despite years of warning about the missile threat. Since the 1970s, according to the U.S. State Department, more than 40 civilian planes around the world have been hit by surface-to-air missiles. In 2003, Iraqi insurgents hit a DHL cargo plane with a missile in Baghdad. Though on fire, the plane was able to land safely. Four years later, militants knocked a Russian-built cargo plane out of the sky over Somalia, killing all 11 crew members.
Now there are calls in Congress to give jets that fly overseas the same protection military aircraft have.
"I think we should ensure that the wide-bodied planes all have this protection," said Sen. Boxer, who first spoke to ABC News about the surface-to-air security threat in 2006. "And that's a little more than 500 of these planes."
According to Boxer, it would cost about a million dollars a plane for a system that has been installed and successfully tested over the last few years, directing a laser beam into the incoming missile.

"For us to sit idly by and not do anything when we could protect 2 billion passengers over the next 20 years [with] a relatively small amount of money [from] the Department of Defense, I think that's malfeasance," said Boxer. "I think that's wrong."
And it could be more practical than trying to round up all the missing Libyan missiles. "Once these missiles walk away from these facilities, they're very difficult to get back, as the CIA realized in Afghanistan," said Bouckaert. When the Afghan mujahideen were fighting the Soviets more than two decades ago, the CIA supplied the Afghans with 1,000 Stinger surface-to-air missiles, which had a devastating effect on Soviet military aircraft. After the Soviets had retreated, however, the CIA spent millions of dollars trying to buy back the remaining missiles from the Afghan fighters. According to Bouckaert, the CIA spent up to $100,000 a piece to reacquire the Stingers.
"In Libya we're talking about something on the order of 20,000 surface-to-air missiles," said Bouckaert. "This is one of the greatest stockpiles of these weapons that has ever gone on the loose."

OBAMA’S BLUNDER: MISSING LIBYAN SURFACE TO AIR MISSILES (Huge threat to America)
Dick Morris ^ | 9.28.201128 | Dick Morris And Eileen McGann
For twenty years – long before 9/11 – the danger of terrorists armed with surface to air missiles shooting at passenger planes has been the secret fear of many top political leaders. In the late 90s, a terrorist network was nabbed trying to bring them into Newark Airport, but the airline industry and the government have done nothing to equip passenger airplanes with any defense against these always deadly missiles.
Now Barack Obama has committed the ultimate sin: He has let 20,000 surface-to-air missiles escape from military depots in Libya. According to ABC News “U.S. officials had once thought there was little chance that terrorists could get their hands on many of the portable surface-to-air missiles that can bring down a commercial jet liner. But now that calculation is out the window, with officials at a recent secret White House meeting reporting that thousands of them have gone missing in Libya.” An estimated 20,000 of these “portable, heat-seeking missiles have gone missing from unguarded Army weapons warehouses.”
Senator Barbara Boxer, of the Senate’s Commerce, Energy, and Transportation Committee said that “matching up a terrorist with a shoulder-fired missile, that’s our worst nightmare.
And now, thanks to Obama’s carelessness and his unnecessary decision to intervene in Libya, it may be our future reality.
ABC News describes the missing missiles as “four to six-feet long and Russian-made, [they] can weight just 55 pounds with launcher.” They are accurate within a range of more than two miles. That a terrorist could sit on a boat off JFK airport and shoot down a passenger plane as it ascends could now be a real possibility.
In the Iraq War, during the run-up to the 2004 election, there were reports of unguarded US military depots from which insurgents allegedly stole thousands of explosives. The story broke in the week before the election and Kerry took down all his other ads and focused on this issue, first reported in the New York Times. By Election Day, it was proven that the report was bogus, adding to Kerry’s woes. Now, faced with this massive blunder and security threat, we hear nothing but the sounds of silence from any of the mainstream media except, to its immense credit, ABC News.
We need to assign a top priority to hunting down these missiles. In Afghanistan, our troops jumped through hoops to corral all the Stinger Missiles left over from the Russian War. This potential leak of these dangerous weapons is vastly more threatening. Obama needs to face this issue squarely and publicly. And we all need to learn the cost we may pay from having elected a rank amateur as president

Iran 'steals surface-to-air missiles from Libya'
Iran's Revolutionary Guards have stolen dozens of sophisticated Russian-made surface-to-air missiles from Libya and smuggled them across the border to neighbouring Sudan, according to Western intelligence reports.

The weapons were seized by units attached to the Guards' elite Quds Force, which travelled to Libya from their base in southern Sudan.
Acting on orders received from Revolutionary Guards commanders in Iran, they took advantage of the chaos that engulfed Libya following the collapse of the regime of former dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi to seize "significant quantities" of advanced weaponry, according to military intelligence officers in Libya.
They say the weapons stolen by Iran include sophisticated Russian-made SA-24 missiles that were sold to Libya in 2004. The missile can shoot down aircraft flying at 11,000 feet, and is regarded as the Russian equivalent of the American "stinger" missiles that were used by the US-backed mujahideen to defeat Soviet forces in Afghanistan in the 1980s. It is similar to the weapon used by al-Qaeda in the failed attempt to shoot down an Israeli passenger jet taking off from Kenya's Mombasa airport in 2002.
Intelligence officials believe the missiles and other weapons seized from Gaddafi's abandoned arsenals were smuggled across the Libyan border to southern Sudan earlier this month where they are now believed to be held at a secret storage facility run by the Revolutionary Guards at al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur. Some of the missiles are also reported to have been smuggled into Egypt.
The governments of Iran and Sudan recently signed a defence cooperation pact, and hundreds of Revolutionary Guards are based in Sudan where they help to train the Sudanese military and help to support the Sudanese government's campaign against rebel groups. The Guards also have a number of training camps that are used to train Islamist terror groups.

Intelligence officials now fear that the missiles and other weapons will fall into the hands of extremists and will be used to carry out terror attacks.
In the past Iran has been accused of smuggling weapons from Sudan to the Gaza Strip, where they have been used to launch attacks against Israel. In 2009 Israeli warplanes bombed an Iranian arms convoy in Sudan that was carrying weapons to Hamas militants based in Gaza.
Tons of weaponry, including thousands of shoulder-held surface-to-air missiles, has been stolen from Gaddafi's abandoned depots since his regime was overthrown by rebel forces in August. Much of the weaponry, which includes mortars and anti-tank weapons, has been smuggled across the border to Algeria, where there are growing fears within Western intelligence circles that they may fall into the hands of al-Qaeda and other Islamist terror groups.
Some military experts have sought to play down the important of the surface-to-air missiles, arguing that militant groups lack the knowhow and the equipment to fire them. But this would not be an issue for the Revolutionary Guards, who have specialist training in firing such weapons. The fear now is that Iran will use the Libyan weapons to equip terror groups in the region.
"Iran is actively supporting a number of militant Islamist groups in Egypt, Gaza and southern Lebanon, so there is concern that these sophisticated weapons will fall into the hands of terror groups," said a senior intelligence officer. "If the SA-24 missiles fall into the wrong hands then no civilian aircraft in the region will be safe from attack."
American and European intelligence agencies have now launched a coordinated effort to track down the missing weapons in North Africa to make sure they cannot be used for a fresh wave of terrorist attacks against Western targets.

Smuggled Libyan weapons flood into Egypt
By Leila Fadel, Published: October 12

EL ARISH, Egypt — Large caches of weapons from Libya are making their way across the Egyptian border and flooding black markets in Egypt’s already unstable Sinai Peninsula, according to current and former Egyptian military officials and arms traders in the Sinai.
Egyptian security officials have intercepted surface-to-air missiles, most of them shoulder-launched, on the road to Sinai and in the smuggling tunnels connecting Egypt to the Gaza Strip since Moammar Gaddafi fell from power in Libya in August, a military official in Cairo said. Arms traders said the weapons available on Sinai’s clandestine market include rockets and antiaircraft guns.
The seizures raise fresh concerns about security along the sensitive area that borders the Gaza Strip and Israel, at a time when unrest is roiling the region. The addition of shoulder-fired antiaircraft missiles to arsenals of Palestinian fighters in Gaza could add significantly to the threat against Israel, whose helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft frequently patrol the strip, which is controlled by the militant Islamist group Hamas.
“We don’t want to see Egypt as a pathway to smuggle weapons,” said Sameh Seif el-Yazal, a retired Egyptian general in military intelligence who said several surface-to-air missiles have been intercepted on the desert road from Libya to the Egyptian city of Alexandria and north on to Gaza. “We believe some Palestinian groups made a deal with Libyans to get special weapons such as shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles.”
Concerns about security in the Sinai have been growing in Egypt and among Israeli and American officials, who have called on Egypt to do more to protect the sensitive area, which borders the Gaza Strip and Israel. In the months since Egypt’s January-February revolution, the pipeline that feeds natural gas to Israel has been attacked seven times by militants. A cross-border attack by assailants in August killed eight Israeli civilians and prompted an Israeli counterstrike that killed six Egyptian troops, including three who later died of their wounds
Palestinian militants in Gaza command a potent arsenal that includes surface-to-surface missiles capable of striking deep inside Israel. But they are not known to have employed more than rudimentary antiaircraft weapons.
Resistance by Bedouins
The vastness of the Sinai, with its deserts and mountains, poses a major challenge to efforts by Egyptian authorities to maintain security there. In recent months, Egypt has sent reinforcements, bringing the number of troops on the peninsula to 20,000, but it has struggled to gain control in an area governed by tribal customs and populated primarily by Bedouins, who distrust the government and call the shots.
A security official and an Egyptian brigadier general who served recently in the Sinai said the seizures have included ammunition, explosives, automatic weapons and caches of heavier arms, including Russian-made Strela-2 and Strela-3 heat-seeking, shoulder-fired antiaircraft missiles.
“We’ve intercepted more advanced weapons, and these weapons aren’t familiar to the Egyptian weapons markets; these are war weapons,” said the brigadier general, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
U.S. officials are concerned that some of Libya’s vast trove of shoulder-fired antiaircraft missiles could end up in the hands of terrorists, who could use them against civilian jets. Gaddafi’s government had up to 20,000 of the missiles, according to U.S. estimates, and American authorities are working with Libya’s provisional government to track down what happened to them. Although thousands were thought to be destroyed in NATO bombing raids during the conflict this year, many missiles apparently were looted from unguarded warehouses in the chaos of the Libyan uprising.
The 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel imposes strict limits on Egypt’s military presence in the Sinai, but Israel has signaled an openness to further troop increases there because of concerns about cross-border attacks and smuggling. Many Bedouins rely on smuggling as their main source of livelihood, delivering food, cement and other commodities to Gaza — which is under an Israeli blockade — for cash, even as Egyptian authorities have taken new steps to cut off the tunnels that lead into the zone.
The governor of northern Sinai, Maj. Gen. Abdel Wahab Mabrouk, could not be reached for comment, and the head of security in the peninsula, Maj. Gen. Saleh el-Masry, said he could not speak without special permission.
Here in northern Sinai, Bedouin tribes have long felt marginalized and neglected by the government. They point to the dozens of schools in their area with no teachers, the hospitals with no doctors and the lack of government protection as examples of the past regime’s neglect. They were also targeted and abused by police after attacks by religious extremists on tourist resorts in the Sinai in 2004 and 2005.
“There is a real kind of bitterness with the police,” said Yazal, the retired general. “North Sinai was completely ignored by the past regime for decades. They feel like second-class citizens.“
This feeling of vulnerability has created a strong motivation among Bedouins to take their security into their own hands by buying more weapons, which many fear will further destabilize the tense region.
Fears about safety, Islamists
Just a few miles from the Gaza border in Rafah, a Bedouin arms dealer known as Abu Ahmed said that weapons smuggling has been easy since Egypt’s 18-day uprising and that the Libyan unrest next door has created a virtually open border. Antiaircraft 14.5mm machine guns are readily available, he said. Shoulder-fired Stinger-like antiaircraft missiles also are available, he said, and their price has dropped from $10,000 to $4,000 because there are so many in the market.
Abu Ahmed estimates that the number of armed people in the Sinai has doubled in recent months, noting that the Bedouin tribes are stockpiling weapons in case the uprising that ousted President Hosni Mubarak does not succeed and the police try to target them again.
“Tribal leaders buy in bulk for the tribe and then sell what they don’t need,” he said.
Although there is no well-
defined armed Islamist movement in the peninsula, fliers have been distributed in the name of al-Qaeda in the Sinai calling for an Islamic emirate. In July, armed men carrying the black flags of holy war drove through the streets and attacked a police station in El Arish. A militant Islamist group known as Takfir wal-Hijra has a fledgling presence in the Sinai.
Egyptian officials have asked Sinai residents to register their weapons, but those requests are derided in a region where the authorities are mistrusted.
“If everything was safe and secure, I would register my weapons,” said Waleed, a Bedouin in his 20s who insisted he be identified only by his first name. He said he had bought an antiaircraft gun for $15,000, partly for security and partly because it looked cool, then mounted it on his Land Cruiser. “But, right now, we don’t know. My home, my business and the women of our family are everything to us, and we have to secure ourselves.”

Qaddafi's Missing State Of The Art Missiles Are Now Pointed At Israel

China's J-20 Stealth Fighter Is Already Doing A Whole Lot More Than Anyone ExpectedUS Soldier Massacres 16 Afghan Civilians In Shooting Rampage--Dead Include 12 Women And KidsUS Offers Israel Advanced Weapons In Exchange For Not Attacking Iran
Long after the bombs stopped falling from NATO planes in Libya last fall, and Qaddafi was killed, questions over where his huge stockpiles of weapons went to lingered — until now.
David Fulghum and Robert Wall at Aviation Week report that "at least some" of the 480 state-of-the-art Russian SA-24 "Grinch" shoulder launched missiles are in the hands of Hamas and Hezbollah.
An Israeli official told Aviation Week "They are in the Gaza Strip. I don't know in what numbers. They are also in Lebanon."
Though the Grinch is one of the most sophisticated anti-aircraft weapons in the world, AvWeek notes that Western forces have developed ways to neutralize them in helicopters like the Apache even without infrared countermeasures.
What they leave unsaid is that the 11,000 foot range of the SA-24 could handily pick off a civilian airliner with its heat seeking missiles.
The Grinch made the news before. In 2003, British national Hemant Lakhani, was arrested for trying to bring the rockets to the U.S. to use against Air Force One or a civilian airliner.
