can never be to sure..

Took the furniture off the deck, gassed up the car, helped take my dads boat out of the marina, plenty of food and water for a week if we loose power, etc etc..

I don't mind earthquakes but I don't like these type of storms

I`m very worried because all of the Pecans are already sagging tremendously from all of the nuts on them.  They tend to snap pretty easily without any wind.  And then there are the large Oaks.  Jezebelle is outside taking pictures and videos of all the trees just in case anything happens.  :-\

'Smarter' is relative, and, more often than not, has little to do with governing. Reagan rode a good economic wave, and his 'instincts' served him better than they didn't. A solid Presidency. And lots of 'leftists' give him credit.

I have my dry food, guns, water, radios, lights, etc.    I'm right on the Bronx River Pkwy which gets flooded like a MOFO.  I have a 3 seater jet ski so worse comes to worse I'll ski my ass into the Harlem river and deal with it.

But I hope some of the thugs and leeches in my hood try to start looting the joint.   I'll light their asses up like 4th of July.  I would like nothing more than a valid, legal, excuse to take out a few hundred savages in my hood.

But then again, most are too lazy though and will wait for welfare checks and food stamps.

One thing I wish GTA would do is put some sort of economy system in the game/property managing.  I like Vice City the best as well as I get so sick and tired of the dark brown and grey colors of the Cities.

Vice City - more than any game ever captured the time, the music, the feel, the landscape, the architecture, and feel of a game I have ever played.

They also blended movies, plots, songs, and TC shows seemleslly.

It is by far the greatest GTA... Top 20 game of all time. Not my favorite game ever... easily in the top 20 though. (Which is saying a lot considering the access to games I have)

Well, that would make you a minority.

From the Wikipedias.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_culture#Demographics

Demographics

As of 2011, the average age for a video game player is 37[1], a number slowly increasing as people who were children playing the first arcade, console and home computer games continue playing now on current systems.[2] The gender distribution of gamers is reaching equilibrium, according to a 2011 study showing that 58% of gamers are male and 42% female.[1] As of 2011, ESA reported that 71% of people age six to forty-nine in the U.S. played video games, with 55% of gamers playing on their phones or mobile devices.[1] The average age of players across the globe is mid to late 20s, and is increasing as older players grow in numbers.[3]
One possible reason for the growing increase in players could be attributed to the growing number of genres that require less of a specific audience. For example, the Wii console has widened its audience with games such as Wii Sports and Wii Fit. Both require more activity from the user and provide more reasons to play including family competition or exercise. It could also be because people who played video games when they were young are now growing older and still have that interest in video games. Currently, the largest entertainment industry for children is gaming. According to a recent survey, over 70% of children between the ages of 8 and 18 own a video game console.[citation needed]

Seriously, what kind of interests do you have since you seem to be pretty much down on everything?

You do realize that games nowadays are not geared towards children.

Let's also note that the Video Game industry is bigger than the Hollywood Box office.

Perhaps he's against Movies as well?

In 2004, the U.S. game industry as a whole was worth USD$10.3 billion and Hollywood Revenue was 9.27 Billion.

Video games....nope, no interest. A few of my interests are golf, sport fishing, weightlifting, horror films, to name just a few. I don't enjoy sitting in front of a television trying to conquer the world with a remote. Tu, you're in your fifties and video games are how you spend your spare time. Come on, I now understand your mentality of wanting to be with 19 yr old girls. Something went terribly wrong in your development at some point, just saying.

NOT looking good...........

New York (CNN) -- Imagine a vulnerable island, parts of it man-made, with towering buildings and lots of people crammed into small spaces. Now imagine a monster storm slamming into that island.

Manhattan vs. Irene.

It could happen Sunday, and hurricane experts are warning New Yorkers that even though Irene may not be a killer in the vein of Katrina, millions of people could be trapped in their homes for days. Without power, transportation, phones -- and experience.

How fragile our civilisations are, one power out-age & it all goes to shit.
If this hurricane hits in a big way....

Well, my money is on a LOT of people having no fucking clue how to cope.
The cops will have their resources, stretched to the limit. People who are inclined to be opportunists will have a field day.
It could get pretty nasty, depending on how long it takes to get power back up & running.

At least you are NJ, I would not want to be in the city when SHTF.
A lot of guns, people looking to make a $ where they can.

That's the difference between here & there. During the BIG monsoon, floods of 2004, people here where cooking big vats of food & feeding all the people who were flooded out. There are a lot of high rises here (so the higher up you are, the better).
But there was a real feeling of people pulling together to get through. In the West, it's "fuck you buddy get out of my way"  ::)

The director 'mark Singer' went to NY to make the documentary (which won the sun-dance film festival for best doc).
1'st he was taking cabs everywhere, then he was low on $'s so he was taking the subway, then he was broke & ended up living in the tunnels with his film subjects.
He got the film made though, DJ shadow was so inspired by Singers' story, he let him use the sound track for free.

Some of it is funny as fuck, some of it is depressing as fuck, & all points in between are covered.

Here is the high-tech intruder alarm set up by Julio.

I put on their Cow outfits that I use for the winter and stood under the trees, hoping not to get hit with any branches.  They went extremely fast as they did not want to be out there very long.

The rain is still going and the winds have not receded too much, but its not a very strong storm so all is well!

The power still has not gone out.  Occasionally it flickers off, really annoying when you are doing computer work and you have to re-type everything.

I am also trying to cook Chicken Adobo for dinner and really hope I don`t get mid-way and then the power goes out totally.  That would be just awful.

Bronx is no different than Haiti.  Wish we could send a lot of these street leeches down there.

Maybe a few will get washed out in to long island sound in all of this.

How did you make out?
All clear.  No trees were hurt though they sure took a beating.  Tomorrow is supposed to be VERY clear and warm so it will take all day to clean up branches, leaves etc.  No damage at all. Hopefully this will usher in slightly cooler weather as I`m sick of the heat.

Actually I'm 36 and have probably had more excitement at my age than you will EVER have in your life.

Of course, I must be making it up, because I'm certainly just an anonymous internet persona... Oh wait... That would be someone other than me.

There's nothing wrong with sitting through a hurricane with a hot younger chick, but while I'm going back to catch a movie with said girl in my bed, you feel free to read this... want to respond, but don't because you don't want anyone to know that you really have nothing better to do... So feel free to respond to this tomorrow sometime.

The news wants to exaggerate every event so that you watch their channel with anticipation and hike up ad revenue, the govt wants you to panic so they ride in on their horse afterward and fix a mess they created so they look like a hero, I'm over here in brooklyn 15 mins away from coney island going to go get some coffee, may not even bring umbrella
