Jay smoked Ronnie and won the entire prejudging which is the whole contest. the night show has always been for the fans and it never decided a contest until this one.
99 times out of a 100 Ronnie smokes Jay but not this time and he knew it.

Jay won BOTH the symmetry & muscularity rounds up in essence the entire contest because that's where the show was always won and the night show was for the fans only.

One thing I always wondered though, was that if Jay had competed in 02 instead of waiting untill 03 - I think he actually could of beat him. Coleman was not particular good in 02, but in 03 he brought his best physique on display ever, making it impossible for Jay to win.
Jay threw away the year he probably had the best chance to defeat Ronnie. That must suck.

No not how it works , and Ronnie wasn't better than Jay at all in the symmetry or muscularity rounds which is why he lost , that includes the front-back-sides
Jay decided to do the Arnold in 2002 and should have competed at the Olympia because once again Ronnie was off and Kev beat him in the posing rounds yet unlike Ronnie in 2001 he didn't win the contest

He technically did but threatened to sue and the IFBB folded. If we also want to get technical Ronnie should have lost just based on the fact he used a prop (an American flag which is illegal per IFBB rules and multi-colored trunks )

won the prejudging and was worse condition wise later in the contest.
1st - Here is some prejudging footage you may have not seen.
It starts at 2:22 so skip the stuff before hand.
It looks like the guy videoed it from his TV so it looks a little funky.

Ronnie had just come off one of his best conditions ever
at the 2001 ASC so he was slightly off but not to the extent
some seem to think.
Here is 1998 compared to 2001 from the back.
Not much difference and much more back striations than our current Mr. O.

Jay looked amazing between 2001-2003 and
really missed an opportunity in 2002 when Ronnie and Chad blew
it in the last 2 weeks leading up to the contest.
I have no doubt Jay would have won that year.

it seems Ronnie was still on another level than any of the others.
My fave version of Jay was the 2003 Ironman.

According to the DE FACTO ifbb judging criteria, you cant win the olympia if your back is not the best on stage, no matter how much you destroy your competition on the other muscle groups.
So, again, by the de facto ifbb judging criteria, ronnie won 2001 with perfect scores, hope this helps.

Yeah.... Kinda agree here.
Jay's back looking kinda Nasser-ish here. Although much better than Nasser, Ronnie is still destroying Jay from the rear.
I kind of look at 01 like I look @ 94, same kind of deal. Both were off, but both were better than number 2.

The night show Ronnie tightened up and looked better and I really don't have a problem with Ronnie winning the whole show. The problem I do have is with people claiming he smoked Jay or it wasn't close because it just wreaks of fanboyism bullshit when people can't even admit the obvious , Ronnie was way-off and paid the price
I DO NOT believe in fixed contests and never will , but facts-are-facts and Ronnie was soundly beaten in the prejudging.

Ronnie really believed he won in 06 , I recall Flex Wheeler and The Chad both told him he was leading after prejudging in this contest :-\ he knew in 01 that he was behind the 8-ball , after prejudging he knew he was losing.

the judges thought Ronnie lost to Jay in the prejudging , this isn't debatable and their opinion is the ONLY ones who count. Say the judges are wrong or you don't go by judges they you expose yourself as a fanboy

Your argument is everyone here sees Ronnie is better but they don't decide contests and the ones that do don't count as long as you have popular opinion. :-\
