A good man. Wish there were more like him.
-
The man who singlehandedly restored my fath in America and Conservatism.

A question from a non American...
...how is it that Ron Paul did not get into a position to challenge for the Presidency? I haven't watched everything he's ever said, but from what I've seen, he seemed like a decent guy and he made a lot more sense than any of the other candidates. What turned people off him?

The oval office is not won through election, it's merely rented out by the oligarchs. Democracy only exists in a thinly veiled appearance masked by the underlining fact that policy is bought and paid for by the highest bidder and the puppets are lined with the spoils.

Americans have become spoiled brats that do not want to be financially responsible in their personal lives and neither do the politicians because no politician will get elected if they endorse responsible policies.

I don't know that it's just you guys. Most Aussies I know would fit into that description as well. The credit card debt in Oz is insane - there's little sense of responsibility and everyone needs instant gratification.
It's shame about Ron Paul though. Like I said, I only have a very small perspective based on what I've seen of him, but I thought his message would have been plain enough to even the most bottom feeding trailer trash. He seems like a decent man who wants his country to do well again. That's at least the basic message I took from him. None of the hyperbole and shit that was coming from the others. Don't know how he could have been ignored like he was.

His crazy train is on a different track than the crazy train of the Republican base.

Yes this is by all means not limited to Americans. Most of Europe is fucked too. Credit has made it possible for nations and individuals to purchase things they otherwise couldn't afford to buy by saving. I personally have some bad debt, but I sure as hell have less debt than my annual income - which U.S. currently almost has.
To simplify this, if your income is $50k and you have $50k of credit card debt, how long is it going to take to pay back - after paying your other bills? Ok, let's say you pay back $200 / month and your debt has a super low interest rate, let's say 2%. How long would it take to pay that back? Answer: 27 years.
Japan is even worse, their national debt is 250% of their income.

Japan will pull out unharmed - they're building debt collecting robots as we speak.

its the whole world thats in debt, ppl are just irresponsible financialy and spoiled brats feeling entitled for everything these days.
that being said , ron paul is a thief who stole election donations and stopped running and hes a racist and a moron.
his foreign policy sounds good, though.

Perhaps racist, but no one is perfect.
I do not think he's a "moron".

Don't believe everything you hear. He's probably the one dude that ran that espouses true equality.
-
hes absolutely not a samaritan for equality, absolutely not.
What makes you believe that?
-
he advices the smallest amount of government and least restrictions on any enterprise.
read up on him, from critical sources.
at first i thought the guy is great, not anymore though.
And somehow this makes him racist?
-
Do us all a favor and stfu - there are grown ups talking kiddo.
Silence Reichswurst!

That's what we like about him.
-
no, thats his economic makes view.
what makes him racist, is him being a racist.
Still waiting for examples of Ron Paul (who's big thing is personal liberty for all, and that government should not be dictating how people choose to live their lives) is racist.
-
you realize that policy would very quickly lead to cartels and monopolies everywhere.
to have freedom, there needs to be a law, some smart guy once said.
BTW, he's not for total lack of government, he's for just the Federal Government not overstepping its bounds (which are very clearly defined in the constitution). No one is going to deregulate enough to allow monopolies to take over.
He's a constitutionalist, someone who believe the federal government has a very specific set of duties, and that it's overstepping its bounds when it tries to make sweeping regulations across the entire country, as most is supposed to be left up to the individual states.
-

I think you should do some more reading as he's never been an advocate of what you are saying. He's a firm believer that there needs to be regulations in tact that will protect consumers and individuals from corporations taking advantage of them. He advocates the federal government sticking to what the constitution says it should, nothing more.
There's no argument to be made that the federal government has overreached in the regulations and policies it has implemented, it's grown into a monstrosity that was never intended.
There's a reason why businesses and investors are fleeing this country, I speak to people every day about this and why a lot of my industry has gone out of the country as well. They are tired of dealing with the federal government, taxes and regulations. It's no longer logical to do business here when they can do it elsewhere.

i dont understand how mitt romney sways more people than paul, is it because he looks like a tv president?
And this rick perry dude, didnt he get more support than paul too? he came across as full-retard.

a good guy, but not enough good people to vote for him anymore. Most people are lazy stupid assholes nowadays, so they vote for obama. There will be crisis, wars, a lot of people dying, then good people will reign again, and guys like ron paul will be elected.

It was a combined effort from the dems and republicans and liberal and conservative television to keep him out. It was plain as day this past year.

This is what I took away from him, but like I said, I have only a narrow perspective based on what I've seen. I'm enjoying reading the responses though - thanks for adding and for addressing my question.
How was he being racist? Genuine question...

No.
They've been dumbed down for a long time.
The media makes reduces issues to black or white.
The media has done a brilliant job of making him appear like a nut job and now a racist.
It's a sad state of affairs.

Ron and Rand Paul are allowed to be on the fringe so that they help the globalist compute how many people are against the ORDER. The Hierarchy can never have enough information. They are putting people into groups and then going after the ones who might give them trouble over their agenda. People like Ron Paul who are allowed to speak freely are information gatherers.

Every Billionaire on the planet is a Globalist. And the ones who say they aren't, are not being honest with the people.

Getbig should support Paul Ryan because he is a bodybuilder.

you realize that policy would very quickly lead to cartels and monopolies everywhere.
Monopolies and cartels are ubiquitous right now because they are products of regulations enforced by the State. Hell, the State has assumed itself a compulsory monopoly over the police, the military, the judicial system, money creation, roads and highways, first class mail delivery, etc. The State's monopolies and cartels are extremely dangerous in that they are kept that way through force. A monopoly that might exist on the free market would necessarily have to be voluntary and would be almost impossible to exist due to no barriers to entry enacted by the State. So if you're scared of monopolies, you should direct your concerns at the ones that exist all around at the moment.
-
I'm pretty liberal with most of my ideals. But i would have voted for Dr Paul in a heart beat. One of the FEW true statesmen of our lifetime who couldn't be swayed or paid off by special interests...

fuck. this is not good. :-\

Just because RP would eliminate programs does not mean he would also keep the states from providing their own programs. Ron's whole premise is to shrink the Federal Government. He doesn't give a shit what the states do.

The powers that be (Goldman Sachs & AIPAC) recognized him to be an uncompromising man of principal who would not sell his principals or rent them out to the highest bidder. As such, he was marginalized and robbed in the primaries, in order to ensure a candidate controlled by the powers that be, would be up against another candidate they also believe they control.

He could have been the most important figure in modern politics if only the voters would have engaged in critical thinking instead of being sheep. I do believe that one day Ron Paul will get his due when we get this country back on it's feet through the efforts of a Libertarian or Constitutionalism Prez. Too bad he'll likely be dead by then.
