Body-builders should stick to PRETENDING their tough, it's when they confuse fiction and reality that shit goes terribly wrong!

I know, I know... It was brutal.

One of those guys even screamed out in Spanish that Marcelo is a stupid, cock sucking, son of a bitch.

I felt bad for Marcelo, because I know he just took the hits and insults and had nothing to give in return.

What's worse, his opponent didn't even bother to shake his hand at the end of the fight, almost as if not acknowledging Marcelo as a true fight, but a freaking warm up.

I actually think Marcelo would have an outside chance of beating himself up with no opponent even in the ring at all.

''Buen dia Sres, sras.. Me pregunto entonces.. Jamas me podria haber ganado. Jamas me podria haber ganado. ''

Bodybuilders don't know how to fight. They just have size. Period. They live in a fantasy thinking that lifting weights translates to being able to fight.

It takes training as a fighter to fight. When I was younger, I used to beat the crap out of guys twice my size... I was stronger and faster... because my body was adapted for fighting. I used to weigh between 180-185 fighting. I remember in high school this kid he was 230 and could bench 315 for reps (big deal in grade 10 lmao)... for whatever reason him and his schmoes thought they'd pick on me. :) I humiliated his ass he couldn't even stand planted. Lets just say it didn't last long. Afterwards, as is typical of high school.. he became my buddy :)

Fighters can be skinny, fat, somewhat muscular, but they will be able to fight... BBers can be as ripped and huge as they want, but they won't be able to fight worth shit except have the psychological effect of being 'tough' and 'dangerous' due to size. Ego.

Now on the other hand is a different story, I can't fight worth shit as I would pull muscles, hurt joints, etc... as I ONLY lift weights and don't train for fighting. Stopped shortly into my marriage training martial arts.

BBing is all aesthetics... period.. any strength you gain from it is a side effect.

Martial arts training is all about practicality... whatever strength, speed, durability, flexibility, etc... you build is for practical application of fighting

Well, I mostly train late at night, so I mostly avoid the drama, most of the schmoes and ego filled balloons train afternoon time. I avoid all that junk, but occasionally I train during the day weekends :) Basically they walk like attention whores, they spend more time in the mirror than lifting (eh nothing wrong posing a bit but you know what I mean), and if you look at them  ;D they give off anger filled stares as if 'watch out'. Eh.. mostly teenagers/college kids full of themselves and some old schmoes who probably have no life and have insecurities. In a nutshell, typical loser that if he were in a bar, he'd start yelling what what get in your face but then if a real fight were to happen they'd piss their pants and bitch slap their way out. I just have a lot of fond memories of dealing with such people when I was a bit younger, mostly ego... and lots of yelling... but nothing to show for in the end... :) I see those guys acting that way in response to their own insecurities I guess.. natural response to 'ward off' others in fear lol.

Che,

Marcelo has to be smoking some of that good shit.

He went off on that rant with everything from indigestion, to not having a proper warm-up, to not being able to punch the bag, to travel accommodations to every last possible detail.

What killed me was when he mentioned this bullshit:

Safdie goes off on a rant about how Alvarez's punches didn't hurt at all, how he held perfect defensive stance all throughout the match and how, at the end, he went to his corner only to get ready to for another round, yet somehow the refs had call the fight and gave it to Alvarez.

Like I said, total denial..

U would think a bodybuilder using the Miyagi style of training with the repetitiveness used by bodybuilders in a gym would have come in handy, like some kind of upright row double elbow, or leg extention kick, bicep curl uppercut , bench press double fist chest punch

Maybe he thought it was going to be a musclefight aka posedown. The promoter probably booked him to guest pose and pulled a switcheroo on him. Thats why he looked so confused when the other guy started throwin shots at his head. He was just tryin to get some space so he could do a most muscular shot and it wouldve been lights out for the other guy.

He looked like he was about to cry when they gave him a medal for second place.

This would happen to most steroidal bodybuilders.

I wonder, do these bodybuilders look at themselves in the mirror, and actually "believe" they are tough?

Truly this gives credence to the saying that pro bodybuilding is all about the "illusion".

Islam dosent forbid people from Looking good. As long as you don't show off and think you better then others. That can be having a great body, or nice clothes, cologne, shoes ...ect

You can be a bodybuilder and be humble and modest. You build your body making it stronger and leaner...ect because you enjoy it. Not to be famous, get rich, women. Or wear tank tops in the snow ..ect

Also Muslims praise and thank Allah whenever they enjoy sucess because we know all true power belongs to Allah, and No matter who you are, you are nothing without Allahs help.

I myself have done teaknowdo for many years and had a black belt. I did sparring in tournaments. Yes traing in BBing is much different to martial arts, but I enjoy bodybuilding much much much more. Nothing like moving big weight and getting awesome pumps and seeing the muscle grow. Although knocking out your opponent is an awesome feeling too.

I think your just born a great fighter. I've seen guys who were really good fighters without a day of training. Of course this was on the street and the ring is probably different.

bodybuilding has nothing to do with fighting you know this, the only correlation is general ego and napolion complexes. however there are some big muscular dudes who dont call themselves bodybuilders out in the real world that are verrry dangerous.

Anyone remember Dan Freeman? Finished top 5 at the Nationals back in the late 90s as a heavyweight and probably would have turned pro in time, but thankfully stepped away from bodybuilding. That dude could fight...seriously. He actually had skills. Maybe not pro MMA skills, but he could throw and he's part of the Shamrock team (you might remember him from earlier seasons of TUF).

hahhaaha that was great with benny hill music.

Watching his 'training videos'.. its clear the guy has NO core development for martial arts... a strong core is absolute key in martial arts... he also has way too many unecessary muscles in certain regions of the body that just slow him down and do jack shit for him... obviously... normally you'll see fighters have a good core, good lats, good traps, good shoulders and that's all they really need.. and yeah hams and glutes... this dude is so unbalanced physically for what he needs... his hip movement is non-existant which is half the problem alongside a shit core.. when he stands its so clear he has no stability either and he does not know how to cover... he should cut down and if he wants to keep fighting and lifting.. only train the body parts required for fighting then maybe he'll get a chance... big schmoe can't stand planted...

Wrestling is the best thing a bodybuilder can do and it also helps with your cardio, then you are able to translate easily to submisson wrestling, at least he would have being able to take the guy down.
