This is awsome and what I've always suspected......libs don't squat, they take the power rack and do bicep curls. They load the sled and do shallow knee bends......libs train the front of the body, but never the back. I suspect most libs don't deadlift and would use the chalk bowl to hold their prius keys instead of a big bowl of white happy powder that helps lift stuff. I also suspect most libs wear gloves in the gym.

I have a meet on Memorial day. I'll go 545 on my squat based on where I'm at right now. 395-405 on my bench and will pull 635. I compete raw with no knee wraps as thats an option in my next contest. I use Rehband knee sleeves and a belt plus the required singlet. I've got a bad should er so I may start to compete geared. I pushed 385 for reps with a shirt on Monday without pain and I kinda liked it so we'll see. I'm 39 and weight 222lbs at 5'9 but will compete below 220 which is an option on Memorial day. Ive been competing for years. I can't juice otherwise I'd be on every drug I could shove down...my deadlift is far superior then my squat and usually the inverse is correct but injuries are slowly catching up, hips, knee's ext ext......

i just started doing deads like 5 years ago. ive never done no 635 so you got me there...as far as bench... after i dislocated my shoulder with the humerous moving postrior, i dont max any more.
as far as dead...do you use that sumo grip or the standard grip.

I conventional deadlift for all my heavy work and then drop to around 385-315 for 2-3 sets of 5 at the end using a sumo stance. The sumo supports the squat and can carry over a good bit. I do a 4 week split on deads where I only deadlift from the ground once per 4 weeks. The rest are a low rack, deficit or blocks. Besides Dave Tate's gym in Ohio...I've never trained with bands on the deadlift. Most gyms never have a platform set up for that.

Saying "plates' sounds odd. Not knowing the weight...kinda sounds odd. Plus 600lbs squats below 90 are kinda rare. The top drug free guys are between 655-700..so basically your closing in on some of the best raw, drug free powerlifters in your weightclass....see what I'm getting at.

I train at Olmpic in San Antonio...its got a history of bodybuilding all over the walls. Plus they have a whole wall of Strongmen and powerlifters..along with Jill Mills...its her home gym. I got yelled at for deadlifting on Post, so that was it.
