Then you should definitely keep an eye on it; noticing if the pain worsens and/or if any blood appears in your urine, which could resemble a murky/muddy color.

Many people mistake kidney pain for back muscle pain and vice versa. If you know your body well enough, you can usually tell the difference.

Maybe you could just blow the stone out.  Tell her you read on the internets that a great bj was the best cure.  And that if the first one doesnt work, repeat every day.   8)

Go to a urologist.

While at home, drink 2 liters of water per day (throughout the day of course) and it could help to flush those stones out.

Take both Advil and Tylenol (They work on different pathways and can be taken concurrently). With Tylenol, stay under 4 grams per day. With Advil, stay under 3200mg per day.

If you live in Europe or Mexico, go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for some Flomax (or any other alpha blocker) that can help relax & dilate the tubes (ureters) that transport urine from your kidneys to your bladder, which can then lead to the expulsion of the stone(s).

If the three options above fail to provide you with any relief, log out of GetBig.com and go to your local emergency room.

I've had them several times. I found that it works best to get a prescription muscle relaxer instead of a pain killer. The muscle relaxer allows the stone to pass through, the pain killer just dulls the pain for about 15 minutes but doesn't relax you enough to help you pass the stone.

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy can break up those stones.  What is generally unknown by the lay public is that the shockwave is like taking a punch from a heavyweight boxer.

Solid Rep! This has been my plan from the get go after my first trip to the ER. I see the Urologist today at 3. Being the day before thanksgiving my guess is he will say "yup you have a 4mm stone, lets schedule you to come back next week from some shock waves to break it down." I might go Tyson on him and bite his ear off at this point.

If it ends up that way, at least you know you will definitely pass the stones. Shock wave therapy is better than having to go to surgery for removal of the stones.

Good luck with this and please let us know how you progress.

All my best!

made 3 times the shock wave therapy, quite painful but the worst part is the gobal general pain/soreness for the following week.
Really a good method to get rid of the stones but in any case you still have to piss them, hence you'll have to give birth to them anyway.

Had two. Small but painful. Doc has me pee thru a strainer to catch them for confirmation. In both cass I could feel them move thru me….ughh! Both times they moved to the bladder for a brief respite…then on down and out. Double oww. If I did not pass them Doc was going to do the sonic wave blast to break them up.

Then once I passed a prostate stone. A brief amazing climax followed by pain and blood. Wife said "ain't me" That one sent me to urologist next morning. The exam to make sure I did not have a bladder or prostate tumor was the worst. They shove a ubber mini camera up your manhood and look around. My instructions were to jack off when I got home to see if I still was bleeding. Now how the fuck can you do that when you had pain and blood the night before? "Hey baby do you love me? I need a favor. Take off your clothes and come in here and take care of your man."

Had a 6 mm stone about ten years ago. Started getting severe pains radiating from the right side of my stomach to the lower back. Second attack I got I started peeing blood. Went to my  G.P. he sent to get a K.U.B.. It showed the stone, he sent me to a Urologist who scheduled me for a Lipotripsy where they zapped it! When that stone starts moving the pain is fucking excruciating! I remember leaving the gym after a workout getting in my car, I started getting an attack, I had to sit in my car and wait till the fucker stopped moving, couldn't drive just bent over waiting for it to subside!

I had an attack years ago and an ambulance had to come to my house, I tried to walk out, got outside, leaned against the wall of the garage and started dry heaving and then they carted me away. On the way to the hospital, I had 2 shots of morhpine and another one that I forget what its called, it was only after the second shot of morphine as we arrived that the pain eased up a little.

I had to have this machine send sonic waves through my back to crush the stone, leaving me bruised, feeling like I got hit by a baseball bat. Next I had to see a Urologist, and I go into the room and this hot young hispanic nurse grabbed my junk and injected novacane/lanacane or some clear gel pain killer into it, then the doctor came in  to run a coat hanger like wire up into my gut to clear everything out, not fun.

Then I pissed blood for two weeks  :D

If the stone is small enough to pass, you just have to drink lots of water and try and pass it! That's why you get a KUB! X ray of Kidney, Urethra and Bladder,to see where the stones are  and how big! If to big Lipotripsy!

Not personally, but my wife has had them twice. She said the pain of passing them was worse then childbirth. She's had surgery twice to remove them. The good news is that this all happened more then 20 years ago and she's been fine ever since as far as getting stones goes. Unfortunately her kidneys are failing now, but I don't think this has anything to do with her having had stones.

Not that this helps when you already have these little buggers, but thought you might be interested in what actually causes kidney stones.

Quote
Kidney stones may form when the normal balance of water, salts, minerals, and other substances found in urine changes. How this balance changes determines the type of kidney stone you have. Most kidney stones are calcium-type-they form when the calcium levels in your urine change.

Factors that change your urine balance include:

Not drinking enough water. When you don't drink enough water, the salts, minerals, and other substances in the urine can stick together and form a stone. This is the most common cause of kidney stones.
Medical conditions. Many medical conditions can affect the normal balance and cause stones to form. Examples include gout and inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn's disease.

More commonly, kidney stones can run in families, as stones often occur in family members over several generations.

In rare cases, a person forms kidney stones because the parathyroid glands produce too much of a hormone, which leads to higher calcium levels and possibly calcium kidney stones.

I read a few other articles on kidney stones. Nothing points to eating meat as being a factor. More importantly, not eating meat definitely isn't going to make them go away. Falcon means well, but he lacks medical knowledge and experience.

Why did I think Falcon was a grizzled old man with a long flowing white beard dispensing advices from atop a Himalayan mountain?  Kind of a letdown to see he looks like my old college roommate.

i had my first at 38 figured it took 38 years to form so i'm good till i'm 76/ not the case, still going thru issues with this doc just recently ordered a test where you piss in a bottle for 24 hours a lab analizes it and makes recommendations. won't know till dec 16 of the results.

A guy I worked with told me about his kidney stones. It sounded like a horror movie. He was in the hospital at one point unable to pee because it blocked his urine path. While waiting for the doctor to come the nurse told him to keep trying to urinate and he was crying in pain. No urine came out. He sat in the bed crying and tried to push again. He didn't give a damn he was in bed and suddenly all hell broke loose. Blood and a full bladder was spraying everywhere and he didn't give a damn.

just avoid eating meat you dumbasses

its that simple

thats why they invented tums for the calcium to settle the gut after you ate a shitload of a pork roast or steak

when you eat meat you use up alot of calcium to neutralize the acid pulling from your bone marrow, and your kidneys cant deal with all of this calcium draw at once thus you get residual calcium aka kidney stones you dumb fucks

this is why vance basilldrum is so miserable and stupid and is only posts for entertainment value and obsesses over silly things like blue font and blue stars, hes been eating meat all his life , he doesnt get heme-iron hes not sure what ails him

Had two massive stones earlier this year .. took 2 months to recover from that and another 2 months to deal with the opiate addiction that came with it. The post surgery pain (and it took the doctors three times to get everything done...) was even worse than the initial pain just from the stones and I did not really think that was possible.

Vegetarians also get kidney stones, Oxalate kidney stones are actually more common in vegetarians and vegans than they are in meat diets.  Also, fat people are at a higher risk of developing kidney stones.   :D

an oxalate kidney stone is the easyest to fix

this only happens when the person is dehyrated and theres too much of a concentration of calcium , oxalate, phosphorus

this is even rarer happening to an active/bodbuilder vegetarian because we drink alot of water

a sedentary vegetarian will have too high of a concentrate thus causing the stone build up

it doesnt hurt you especially if you drink a gallon a day of water
\

this vegetarians getting kidney stones is the most far out thing ive ever heard, but i get it though...most vegetarians just sit around all day never ever workout.

alot of people are just chatty with no physical exericise i dont know how they live like that.

physical exercise creates a huge demand for water

funny story..

about 4years ago i'd been having low back pain for a week. I thought I hurt a disk.

well, one Monday just before leaving for the gym, I take a piss.. I didn't have all the lights on and I could've swore my piss looked super dark, maybe it was the shadows or something.. oh well, I thought and went on my way.

I couldn't tell if my back was really hurt or what, since the pain was in the top of my glutes-area.. not realy the lumbar.

so I decide i'm gonna squat normal and if it's my lumbar/disc, well, i'll find out finally cuz it'll just fold me over.

so I hit 225 easy.. 315 easy.. 405 easy.. then I figure, well, no back pain, everything feels solid, and I decide to hit 530 or so for 5. piece of cake. I figure, well, it's not my back, because that would've folded me over.

so I go to take a piss, and i'll be goddamned if my piss didn't look like watered down ketchup!!!  OOOOOooooK.... now that's not right. so I head to the hospital and tell the nurse "I think there's something wrong with me"... and explain I think my piss is a little dark. I'm thinking "holy fuck, my kidneys are failing.. years of trenbolone has finally caught up with me"... so I give them a urin sample and it comes out looking like a orange/red jello-cup.. and the nurse says "oh my god.. yea, that's a LOT of blood"... I ask her what the fuck do you mean???? ... then she says "oh,it's probably just a kidney stone".

Oh.... ok. the kidney stones had been traveling through the tubes and tearing up the lining and shit, causing bleeding.

they gave me a mesh-funnel to piss in to catch the stone and told me to drink 2 gals of water and i'll probably be up all night till it passes and i'll probably experience the worst pain of my life... so everytime I go to piss (which was like 12x that night)... i'm sitting down like a woman in anticipation of the "extreme pain"... well, finally by 5am, I take the last piss and look down in the funnel and see a little thing that looks like a piece of lint, and I go to take it out and shit!... it's the stone... id didn't even feel the goddamn thing!  apparently i'd been pissing these things out for a couple days and had no idea.

then they did an MRI and saw a bunch of small stones.

gave me 3 options, 1 ultrasound, 2 cut me open from behind and take them out, or 3 go in with a tube through my cock and use a camera and claw to get them... #3 was the most painless they said.

BULL FUCKING SHIT!!!!

waking up from that surgery was the WORST pain I've ever had in my life.

8mg diluaid and 80mg of Morphine and I was STILL in pain. (8mg of diluaid is a HUGE amount)...AND they left a Stent in my urethra to prevent it from swelling shut, and I was supposed to go back in and have it removed 10 days later... so for 10days, every time I took a step, it felt like somebody was wacking my nuts with a tennis racket (best way I can describe it)... then they made a mistake in scheduling and the stent stayed in 3 days LONGer than it was supposed to and the stent started to heal INTO the tubing/urethera it was in... and to take it out they shove what looks like a bent coat hanger down the hold in my cock to pull and pull and pull till it came out. with NO FUCKING PAIN MEDS or Sedation.

NEVER EVER EVER doing that shit again... they'll have to cut me open.

I have an occasional turd I've affectionately called "Captain Hook".  This one starts way down in the hole of the toilet comes straight up out of the water and then curves back down halfway the long side of the primary trunk.

this is almost the same way it happened to me ES!

back had been killing me, but I did NOT injure it. rested it for a week... then the pain came back... then did it again... and same thing... finally, I go to my doctor... he tells me it may be kidney stones and or infection... anti biotics and gallons of liquids... thought I was finally better, and then the pain started back again... this time I go to the ER, and they do every test on me... they tell me that I am good to go and that I may have already passed these damn things... today I am finally feeling good... but damn... that pain in my low right back is the worst of my life... I blew out both knees, etc   many broken bones, surgeries from hell... and NOT one thing hurt me like this shit hurt my low right back. It was pain all in one small place. I was not able to breathe right... the smallest breath and my back would spasm and feel like I was being stabbed with a sword... horrible... I am NOT able to put in to words, how much this hurt.

it wasn't so much the kidney stones that hurt.. I could deal with that, but the arthroscopic surgery they did going up the tube in my cock to my kidneys that was painfull beyond words.

took 8 fucking mg's of Dilaludid and 80mgs of morphine before i was 'comfortable'.

3mg's of dilaludid alone would normally have my high as a fucking kite when i had pancreatitis.

in order of pain...

1- kidney stone surgery after-effects
2- pancreatitis
3- after-effects of cutting off part of my finger (the days/weeks after.. at the time i didn't feel anything)
4- laser surgery to repair torn/partially detached retina (like a red hot laser beam in your eye)
5- kidney stones

seriously.. I got it caught in a belt/pulley conveyor belt thing. was wearing "cut proof gloves" too... and still popped it right off. index finger.. chopped off right at the top joint. SOMEHOW the majority of it GREW FUCKING BACK. lol.. it was gone from the top joint on, but somehow a good centimeter or so has regrown, so now it's about 5mm shorter than my other index finger.

it wasn't so much the kidney stones that hurt..

Sorry to read that you had such a bad (painful) experience. Due to longtime issues with my bladder and prostate, I had so many cystoscopies over the years, that I lost count. Essentially, a cystoscopy is about the same as the procedure you endured. What is interesting is that the nerve endings in the urethra are only at the tip of your penis. Anything further up you, should not have been able to feel. Still, it is a weird sensation to have something foreign slid up your urethra. Let's just agree that this is better then the old days of medicine when the doctors simply cut you open and sometimes you lived and sometimes not.

small price to pay for eating all that meat

Small prize to pay for eating all that extra protein, just because you guys can't do your math. You need up to 2 grams per kilo of the lean bodyweight, not per pound which is twice as much  ;D

What comes to those kidney stones, in civilized world they use acoustic pulse to broke them to sand, and you can piss them out without the pain. In USA thing like this cost backpack full of dollars, while we get it free of charge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extracorporeal_shock_wave_lithotripsy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extracorporeal_shock_wave_lithotripsy)

I passed one and it was awful. I came home from work early and drank 8 beers before I could start to dull the intense pain. I was hunched over the couch in agony and must have finally passed it later that day. I immediately dropped the iced tea I drank a lot after searching the net on info. Worst pain I've ever been in and I'm accident-prone so have been through a lot.

You'd have to be guzzling gallons of ice tea in order for that to be the main cause of high oxalate levels. Most likely it was other dietary factors or an accumulation of them.

Consuming moderate tea is fine, just make sure you squeeze some fresh lemons into it as citrate will inhibit stone formation as well as giving a Nice alkalinizing effect.

Well, if you know for advance that you are going to face situation like that and you have two options, 1. pay whole sum of 50-70 000$ at once or 2. pay 0.00002% more taxes through your life, which one you will choose? Our social security is for everyone, and it is paid by taxes, taken from everyone. So what? You don't have such thing, and when shit hit the fan, you are on your own. And you ask me why I am so butthurt? Why you seem to be screaming like a girl with the tears in your eyes, little child? Have I hurt your oh so dear fatherland by saying your health care sucks as it certainly do?  Another thing, in our country people doesn't run for psychiatrist every time they face a problem, larger than life itself, like loosen shoestring like you do in USA. We have maintain our capability to be able to reason simple things like that among ourselves, and we do not comfort ourselves with Xanax. We do not need to, we have vodka. So what exactly is your problem besides that stupidity? You are proud to pay megabucks for simple things, which comes to others by paying just about nothing? I have to say, if I would have been paying for health insurance all my life, and then find out that all I get by it is treatments which they used back in 1800's, I would be a bit disappointed also. Point is that you have choose your way of life, and you really deserve it. In fact, you have been fighting to keep that way of life, and you hate Obama because he want to change it for your benefit. Carry on, morons, it will be fun to see how it ends  ;D

Yes there are, aren't there? So I have plenty to choose from. Let say I am from EU, where is not even one country with worse health care than U.S, and that will be close enough. I could refer even some African countries, but you still miss the point if I do, so let say I am from Scandinavia. So fucking what? I only got it once when I was a young broke bodybuilder / rugby player and had to eat a shit load of eggs and honestly didn't keep my water intake up where it was supposed to be all the time.. Most of the eggs were hardboiled for convenience. Did you buy chance eat a lot of eggs and not drink a lot of water? Happened to a friend of mine as well I'm curious if there is a connection

Did you get scoped first with that fucking "small" camera thingy?  When I saw the size of that thing and then remembered the doc was going to shove that up my urethra, i shit a brick.  No pain medication, no sedation, nothing but a lot of lube.  Not my finest day.  And pissing for the next week was a real joy.  The result of all that:  inconclusive.  Motherfuckers.  I still ended up pissing the stone out a week later and pissed clots of blood for another week after.  Fun times.

I remember laughing at the "old guys" in the gym that kept preaching to drink a gallon of water a day since I increased my protein dramatically. I thought, a whole gallon? I didn't want to be one of those guys who carry a gallon everywhere spouting "I pick things up and put them down" like that commercial.

It only takes one kidney stone to make you a believer.

One glass = 8 ounces (x) 6 glasses (minimum recommendation) = 48 ounces.  No more than 10 glasses (80 ounces) is recommended because of the potential kidney damage.

Whatever man, I was young, doing a decent cycle plus other supps and eating crazy protein and it was rugby season so I tried their advice and to be honest it worked. I'm betting if you hit the gym almost everyday and played a hard sport you could down a gallon from early morning till bedtime.

I did it easily. No issues. In fact I felt better.

ropo do you feel kidney stones contribute to meat eating?

You should understand difference between eating meat, and eating enormous amounts of protein. Most of the people in this earth eats meat and don't have kidney stones. Some of the people eat lot of protein and have kidney stones.

"Certain medications can increase the risks of developing kidney stones. Scientists found that opiramate (Topamax), a drug commonly prescribed to treat seizures and migraine headaches, can increase the propensity of calcium phosphate kidney stone. The more overweight a person is the more at risk he or she is for forming uric acid kidney stones, a study found.  Additional risk factors for kidney stones include diets that are high in protein and sodium but low in calcium, a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, high blood pressure,"

Let see..diets that are high in protein, obesity, high blood pressure..who has all of those? Average bodybuilder who is using gear.. ;D

Healthy kidneys can process 15 liters of water a day. If someone is drinking a gallon of water a day and having problems with his kidneys, it isn't the water that is hurting him, it's the fact that his/her kidneys aren't healthy to begin with. People who are type II diabetics(like every pro bodybuilder walking the planet) or borderline, don't have 100% full functioning kidneys. There kidney's are stressed. They will be much better off imop to have enough water in their system than to possibly dehydrate the kidneys which can be deadly.

Water is the healthiest thing you can do for your body. Lemon juice added to water is the 2nd healthiest thing you can do for your body everyday. If your kidneys are hurting from drinking water, eliminate other things in your diet especially salt based food and keep your water on the higher side.
