If the majority of people making over 45K a year had a 50%-300% hike premiums haw can they call this the "affordable health care act"?

You have form the beginning. I figured all along OBC was only good if it lowered costs. It didn't look to do it at all and i thought it would increase maybe 10%, NOT 50%-300%.

If you want to be really shocked Ozmo , then just wait until next year, as that current rate you can get through the exchange (the 50% more than what you are paying now) is based on not only the mandates, but also highly on the fact that many healthy young people who don't file as many claims and don't currently have insurance were going to enroll along with the unhealthy and older folks (who file more claims) averaging down the loss ratio in claims, well guess what?? most of the young aren't signing up, except for Medicaid, so not only is the rate next year going to be almost double to make up for that, but your taxes are gong to go way up also to help pay for the expansion in medicaid.

Just wait, it gets worse, next year when not only are you paying double in cost for your insurance, and your taxes are higher to help pay for the medicaid expansion, but when you go to the Doctor the wait is going to be 10 times as long, yet the parking lot will have many cars that are nicer than yours, yet they are on medicaid for free, go figure.

Obamacare was not about lowering Health Insurance cost for those who already had it, it was just the opposite, and it was made that way on purpose, to help pay for those who dd not have it, although many who didn't have it was by choice, either as they were young and didn't want it,, and or would rather spend the money on other things like a lifestyle (nicer car, etc..) that is above their pay grade, as most States already had a High Risk Insurance Pool set up for those with pre-exsiting conditions, and remember that Obamacare was pushed with lies ("you can keep your insurance", and "you can keep your Doctor", and "your rates are going to go down by 2500") And once again not one Republican voted for it!
If you don't like Obamacare, and you don't want Amnesty, then hope that Ted Cruz runs and wins as President, as he is strongly against both.

There was no other possible outcome. You simply cant mandate all sorts of new coverages for people - hand out medicade for millions of people, and not have drastic increases. Its not even possible.

Anyone it doesn't matter, there are a few independents who are now just specializing in working through the ACA system. There is no charge for their services either. Don't tell them you already tried it on your own and got a quote. Just say you are confused and want to get the same policy you have before.
Let us know what price they give you there.

Most of them will be happy to leave ACA alone and please their corporate supporters by surrendering amnesty.

Boehner, Cantor: Immigration Reform a Priority for 2014
House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor want to overhaul the immigration system in 2014, discussing a rewrite among other priority topics with fellow Republican lawmakers in a closed meeting Wednesday.
Arizona Republican Rep. Matt Salmon told The Wall Street Journal after the meeting that Boehner informed the lawmakers that "'this is an issue we have to deal with, and I continue to believe that.'"
Conservative immigration critics, however, said addressing the issue this year would be a mistake when lawmakers should instead be concentrating on defeating Obamacare.
"It would be a colossal mistake for us to take up anything that would end up just changing the subject and getting it off Obamacare and onto something that splits the Republican Party," Republican Steve King of Iowa told The Journal.

Its mainly the individual/family who purchases their own health insurance that is being hit with cancellations and or huge increases in cost because Obama postponed the Employer mandate for another year (helping out the Unions again) So if you get your insurance via your job then your sticker shock, and or cut in hours to part time comes Jan 2015.

I agree Republicans should have been more proactive on healthcare, but I don't see any way we can blame them for Obamacare. The fact Republicans didn't get a bill passed that addressed the handful of issues that really needed to be handled doesn't mean they are to blame for Democrats ramming through a bad bill.
Republicans didn't propose Obamacare. None of them voted for it. Obama signed it. Democrats are still supporting Obamacare. Democrats own this.

I don't really disagree about Republicans not doing a very good job, but they really cannot be blamed for this law. There is nothing more they could have done other than trying to stop it before it got the floor, voting against, voting to repeal it, and trying to stop its implementation.

I agree that just because one has a rich American heritage it also means they are patriotic. This information was in response to Ozmo asking me if I was an American. If he'd asked me if I was patriotic, I might have answered differently.
What exactly do you think is an example of patriotism? Citizenship is something some of us are born into and some people have to apply for after they immigrate. It is my personal belief that it takes more than just flying the American flag to be a good citizen. Anyone can fly a flag and anyone can do no more than complain about things. If that is all they do then their contribution as a patriotic citizen is questionable, at best.

I don't think anyone who does nothing but complain is unpatriotic or a bad citizen. It's not even questionable. Some people just choose to work and take care of themselves and/or their family without getting involved in the political process. Nothing wrong with that at all. I don't like hearing those people complain, but I certainly don't question their patriotism or whether they are a good citizen.

I have more respect for you now that I know you speak with your actions. You must admit, it bears asking this question because if you are like me, you know more than a couple of people who do nothing beside complain about things.
In a healthy democracy there will be folks all over the political spectrum. I do not expect everyone to have the same views I do all of the time. Even my opinion about things political change with different circumstances. For example, I supported the concepts of the Affordable Healthcare Act and still do. On the other hand, the fact that it's launch is fraught with problems and failures is a complete embarrassment (or should be) to those who promoted it.
Just so you know, I live in Oregon where to date, not one person has been able to sign-up on our state's failed website. Instead folks are asked to signup in written form and the date to be enrolled has been extended through March. It is a total mess. No one has taken responsibility for this either. There has been much buck passing, including from Governor Kitzhaber. Two of the top people hired to get the website launched have resigned. Each was paid nearly $200,000 a year with taxpayers' dollars. It is an embarrassment all the way around.
See, I can complain too.
Come next election, if Kitzhaber (also known as Kitzrobber) runs again, I doubt I will support him. He's a failure to date and he's already served three terms as Governor.

Snowden is a traiter. If the only thing he did was disclose the NSA spying on American citizens, I'd have a different opinion about him. He would still need to be punished, because there is a right way to be a whistleblower, but I wouldn't view him in the same light.
By sharing information with numerous foreign countries about us spying on them, he lost whatever moral high ground he may have had. Those disclosures did nothing to protect the privacy of American citizens. I hope he spends the rest of his life looking over his shoulder, assuming we don't capture him (or take him out).
